Revisiting Redraft Predictions: NFC Edition

Since August 25th, I’ve had a thread pinned to my Twitter profile containing one Redraft prediction for each NFL team. Now that the fantasy football season is over, it’s time to look back at those predictions and see which ones were spot on and which were laughably wrong.

NFL Player Props – Thursday Night Football Preview

Week 6 kicks off with yet another low-level Thursday Night Football matchup between two bottom-feeding teams as the Washington Commanders (1-4) travel to Soldier Field to face off against the Chicago Bears (2-3). Betting lines have this TNF contest listed as the lowest projected scoring total of the Week 6 slate, with an over/under of 38.0 points. The traveling team is a surprise 1.0-point favorite over the hometown Bears.

Paid In Full: Evaluating the Past and Present Wide Receiver Market

A basic understanding of NFL contracts can significantly improve your strengths as a dynasty football manager. Knowing when players are due for extensions or about to hit free agency can give you a head start on future market evaluations. Job security is an essential factor in the stability of player values. However, big pay days do not always equate to increased production. In this article, we will highlight a few of the NFL’s biggest contracts at the wide receiver position while looking back on previous major extensions and the production that followed thereafter. First, let’s dive into the current wide receiver contract market and the massive shifts made this offseason.

Dynasty Market Sweep: Veteran TE Evaluation

Welcome to the Dynasty Market Sweep, a weekly recurring offseason article focusing on substantial value disparities in the dynasty market consensus. The very nature of the instantaneous fantasy news feed has made the dynasty market more reactionary and volatile than ever before. Once the proverbial petrol is poured and Twitter fingers snap to ignite, player values can burn to the ground overnight. Value changes of this nature cause a ripple effect across the market. For every step up the ladder, someone must move down and vice versa.

Did We Just Witness the Best WR room in College Football History?

Chris Olave, Garrett Wilson, and Jaxon Smith-Njigba combined for 3,600/4,952 (73%) of Ohio State’s team passing yards as well as 34/46 (74%) of total passing TDs. Chris Olave and Garrett Wilson have gone down as two of the best Buckeye receivers ever after going back-to-back in the NFL Draft at number 10 and 11 overall. Jaxon on the other hand, who was the most productive of the three, will be back in Columbus for his junior season where he’s been named a team captain and he’s one of the favorites to bring home the Biletnikoff Award. Let’s take a deeper look into each of these players and why we may have just witnessed the best WR room in the history of college football.

Fantasy Stock Up, Stock Down: Washington Commanders

Welcome back to the “Fantasy Stock Up, Stock Down” series (offseason edition). The off-season madness is upon us, as teams prepare for free agency and the NFL Draft. Meanwhile, we as dynasty managers need to be preparing as well. Who are we going to target in rookie drafts? Who are we going to go out and trade for? Who are we willing to give up in return? Will you go all in this season to bring home a championship? Or should you go young and prepare for the future? There’s so much to think about before September. The “off-season edition” of this series is an early look at whose stock is up and whose stock is down as we head into free agency and draft season. We will break down each NFL team one by one. Today is all about the new-named Washington Commanders.

DFS Week 14 Recap

Week 14 is now in the books and boy was it a good one. The Tampa Bay Bucs were able to hold off the Buffalo Bills in arguably the top game of the slate. Tom Brady is now a laughable  33-3 against the Bills as he continues his dominance at 44 years of age. Other notable wins consisted of the Browns over the Ravens, 49ers over Bengals, and the Cowboys over the Washington Football Team. With that being said, let’s see how my weekly DFS picks played out!

DFS Week 6 Recap

Another week of unpredictable football is behind us! Players who were highly owned like Kareem Hunt, at 33% ownership, failed to live up to the hype by posting an unimpressive 10.8 DK points. With that being said, let’s see how my weekly DFS picks played out!

DFF Redraft Recap – Weeks 1-4

In this article, I’ll be giving you a behind-the-scenes look at the DFF Redraft Championship league standings. I’ll provide a brief overview of each team and make a prediction about their rest-of-season performance. Ready for the tour? Let’s start in the basement.

Fireside Chat With Heady

Welcome mafiosos to a little Q and A session with the only @Heady_Football. I took some time to gather some questions you on Twitter, our DFF Army, have asked over the off-season along with some questions I have been asked off-line, by my friends and family. Yes, don’t be shocked, I do have a life outside of fantasy football. Granted, it’s not much but it is one nevertheless. So, without further adieu, here are some of the best questions I received.

Building a Redraft League Winning Roster: Part 2

Having a consistently high floor allows for a better chance to make the playoffs. But the title of this series is not how to make the playoffs. Our goal is to win. Assuming you read Part 1 of this series, you know that our plan in rounds 3-6 is to go after high upside wide receivers. This doesn’t mean that we are neglecting other positions and only looking at wide receivers, but the value here is tremendous. This is also why solidifying the running back position is so important to do early. It now allows us to chase value in these rounds.

Antonio Gibson: Is the Sky the Limit or is the Limit the Sky?

Would you believe it if I told you that Antonio Gibson, who played mostly wide receiver (WR) in college, tallied 16.2 carries and targets per game in the first 11 games of his pro football career at running back (RB)? After blowing up in Week 12 for 20/115/3, along with five receptions on seven targets, he was hurt early in the next game and missed two weeks. He then came back and received a large share of the workload again, but he was hobbled a bit by the injury and indeed it has lingered into the offseason, somewhat unexpectedly. What are his prospects for 2021, and how do they compare to the rest of the 2020 RB class and other similar ranked veteran RBs?

Top 12 Dynasty WRs And Their Advanced Statistics

In this article, I will be dissecting the current top twelve dynasty wide receivers, based on ADP provided by Rotoviz.com. To do this I have compiled a list of these WRs, their base stats, calculated their advanced stats that I think are important, and turned it all into an easily digestible chart. There are a few things you will need to know before we look at the chart so let’s talk about those.

Brandon Aiyuk: 2021 Dynasty Profile

Brandon Aiyuk began his collegiate football career at Sierra College, a community college in California. After a strong sophomore season, Aiyuk transferred to Arizona State. As a junior, Aiyuk underwhelmed alongside future first-round pick N’Keal Harry. But he blew up as a senior, recording a 40.6% dominator rating (81st percentile) with 65 receptions for 1,192 yards and eight TDs. Aiyuk was also incredibly dynamic at Arizona State, contributing on special teams as both a kick and punt returner.

Dominating Your Rookie Draft: 2021 Rookie Tiers

The Rookie 1.01 Draft pick always holds a premium in dynasty fantasy football. Rookie draft picks also vary in value based on the current time of the year that we are in. In the second part of this article, we are going to explore how to dominate the 2021 Rookie Drafts and revisit the value of how rookie pick values change at different parts of the season.

Dominating Your Rookie Draft: Rookie Pick Value and Tiers

There is no time when a draft pick is more valuable than when it is on the clock in your rookie draft. You have the power to select your favorite rookie prospect, but you also have the opportunity to trade the rights to the pick for what you view as more value to a league mate. By the time rookie drafts roll around, the ADP is more or less settled and we are targeting our favorite prospects within their given tier. Being right on one player versus another player is very important, but being in the situation to control your draft is even more crucial to success in your fantasy leagues.
