DFS Week 14 Recap

Week 14 is now in the books and boy was it a good one. The Tampa Bay Bucs were able to hold off the Buffalo Bills in arguably the top game of the slate. Tom Brady is now a laughable  33-3 against the Bills as he continues his dominance at 44 years of age. Other notable wins consisted of the Browns over the Ravens, 49ers over Bengals, and the Cowboys over the Washington Football Team. With that being said, let’s see how my weekly DFS picks played out!

QUARTERBACKS

To start, let’s look at how my quarterback picks performed this weekend. The top two quarterbacks, Josh Allen and Tom Brady were the two highest-scoring quarterbacks, putting up  42.22 and 33.12 DK points in a big head-to-head matchup. These two quarterbacks were great pay-up options and surely helped you cash. Taysom Hill, who was a great value at $5,600, scored 26.3 DK points and was a terrific pick as he was the best value on the slate. My biggest letdown of the week was Dak Prescott. Prescott was my favorite quarterback at $6,700 and put up a poor 11.94 DK points. Prescott was in a position to dominate, but he disappointed by only producing 211 yards, one touchdown, and two interceptions.

RUNNING BACKS

Next, let’s evaluate the running back plays of the week. Alvin Kamara was a ‘like’ play for me this week and he produced 27.50 DK points. Clyde Edwards-Helaire was a decent value play this week, putting up 19.20 DK points at an affordable $6,100. The week was full of letdowns, as Austin Ekeler, Chuba Hubbard, Jeff Wilson Jr., and Antonio Gibson all underproduced. Ekeler was banged up during the game which allowed counterparts Joshua Kelley and Justin Jackson to see 11 and 10 touches.

WIDE RECEIVERS

Now let’s discuss the wide receiver slate. Ja’Marr Chase was the third-highest scorer this week, producing 25.30 DK points. Chase was able to bounce back after a couple of down weeks of drops and being overlooked for teammate Tee Higgins. Other picks this week consisted of players Amari Cooper, CeeDee Lamb, D.J. Moore, Mike Williams, and Laquon Treadwell who scored 16.1, 14.6, 14.4, 12.1, and 10.8 DK points. All of these totals were modest, as they fulfilled their respective projections, but none of the players boomed. My biggest letdowns of the week were Stefon Diggs, Tyreek Hill, and Terry McLaurin. Diggs was the second-highest-priced receiver and even saw his quarterback have a huge week. This was disappointing to witness, as Diggs saw 13 targets but was only able to coral seven for 74 yards.

TIGHT ENDS

Lastly, my coverage of tight-ends. My top player at the position, George Kittle, was the highest scorer again this week as he produced 37.1 DK points. Kittle has been on a tear as of late, producing over 37 DK points in back-to-back games. Kittle wasn’t the only tight end to top 30 points as Mark Andrews was an animal on the field. Andrews scored 31.5 DK points where he had 11 catches for 115 and a score. The biggest disappointment of the week was Travis Kelce, as he only brought in three targets for 27 yards. Kelce looks like he is hitting a wall this season and is now behind Mark Andrews in fantasy scoring this season.
