Another week of unpredictable football is behind us! Players who were highly owned like Kareem Hunt, at 33% ownership, failed to live up to the hype by posting an unimpressive 10.8 DK points. With that being said, let’s see how my weekly DFS picks played out!
QUARTERBACKS
To start, let’s look at how my quarterback picks performed this weekend. Dak Prescott and Kirk Cousins were the highest-scoring players at the position, producing over 31 DK points each. Unfortunately, I decided not to choose either player as I avoided middle-priced QBs this week. Patrick Mahomes was the third-highest scorer, posting 27.98 DK points. My next highlighted player this week was Kyler Murray who scored a mediocre 25.76 DK points. Kyler was my favorite play and the highest owned QB of the week. Matthew Stafford was a player who I deemed as a ‘like’ and he proved to be a solid value. His 6.7k DK price tag was more than affordable, as he produced 26.24 DK points. My biggest letdown at the quarterback position was Justin Herbert, who only scored 12 DK points.
RUNNING BACKS
Next, let’s evaluate the running back plays of the week. For my ‘love’ picks I chose the top-scoring players in Jonathan Taylor, Joe Mixon, and Darrell Henderson. The three respected players scored 31.8, 26.3, and 24.7 DK points. Low-priced options Darrel Williams and Khalil Herbert had a great performance as well, both having under a 5k price tag and over 19 total points. As for Austin Ekeler and Kareem Hunt, both players proved to be my biggest letdowns, scoring less than a combined 21 DK points.
WIDE RECEIVERS
Now let’s dig into our wide receiver picks for the week. Cooper Kupp stepped up big time by scoring a whopping 37 DK points. Just like Davante Adams last week, you missed a great opportunity for a big payout starting your lineups with Kupp. Players Brandin Cooks and Ja’Marr Chase posted mediocre numbers that were not higher than projected. Tyreek Hill was deemed to be a worthy pick as his 22.6 Dk points were worth the pay-up. Three players unfortunately let us down in D.J. Moore. Terry McLaurin and Keenan Allen. These players all fell short of 12 total DK points.
TIGHT ENDS
Lastly, my coverage of tight-ends. The top-scoring pick of the week was Noah Fant, posting 24.7 DK points. Fant was one of my favorite plays on the slate and he proved me right! Travis Kelce, the highest-priced option, was the second-highest scoring option behind Fant and scored 17.9 DK points. If you chose to go with Noah Fant or Ricky Seals-Jones you chose the best targets. Seals-Jones was the second-best value in the tight end category as he scored 15.8 Dk points at a 3k price. This exceeded projections by more than double!
To conclude, never consider a player a “lock” for your lineup. To avoid having down weeks in DFS, consider a wide range of players and don’t overload exposure on one player. Also, injuries happen. Players bound for big weeks can end up not producing because of in-game injuries. That is the nature of sports betting. If it were easy everyone would do it.
