DFS Week 13 Recap

We’re now through Week 13 and the craziness has not stopped. The Detroit Lions were able to end their winless season as they upset the Minnesota Vikings with a last-second touchdown. The top team in the AFC went down as the Baltimore Ravens lost a close one against the Pittsburgh Steelers. With that being said, let’s see how my weekly DFS picks played out!

QUARTERBACKS

To start, let’s look at how my quarterback picks performed this weekend. Tom Brady was the highest-scoring quarterback, putting up 32.62 DK points in a bounce-back week. Tom Brady was followed by Kirk Cousins, who was underpriced at $6,500, scored 24.20 DK points. These two players ended up being the best of the bunch for my quarterback picks. My biggest letdown of the week was Derek Carr. Carr was my favorite quarterback at $6,000 and put up a poor 12.36 DK points. Carr was in a position to dominate against a weak Miami defense but he failed to score a touchdown and threw for 249 yards.

RUNNING BACKS

Next, let’s evaluate the running back plays of the week. Jonathan Taylor was the highest-priced running back and also the highest-scoring one. Taylor did not have a performance as he did in week 11 versus the Bills, but he still produced 28.30 DK points. Sony Michel was the best value play this week, putting up 24.90 DK points for $4,300. Leonard Fournette and Alexander Mattison were two middle-priced options that proved their worth as they scored 22.20 and 21.40 respectively. Another solid value on the slate was Miles Sanders, as he out-played his price tag producing 20.20 DK points. The biggest letdown of the week was Joe Mixon. Mixon received a promising 19 touches but fell short of 11 DK points.

WIDE RECEIVERS

Two of my ‘love’ picks of the week did not disappoint. Diontae Johnson and Chris Godwin had encouraging performances as they both produced over 33 DK points. Cooper Kupp was the top-priced receiver again at $9,000 on DK, and his performance was admirable as he scored 29.90 DK points. My top value pick, Hunter Renfrow, performed at an exceptional rate as he had nine receptions for 102 yards. Renfrow has been a consistent valve for the Raiders and has proved his worth this season. My biggest letdowns of the week were D.K. Metcalf and Brandon Aiyuk. Metcalf failed to produce as Tyler Lockett was the one to have the big day. As for Aiyuk, he was overshadowed by George Kittle who was the highest-scoring tight end.

TIGHT ENDS

Lastly, my coverage of tight-ends. My top player at the position, George Kittle, was the highest scorer producing 42.60 DK points. Kittle dominated versus Seattle but it wasn’t enough to anchor the 49ers to an inter-division victory. Logan Thomas was one of my favorite values for the tight end position and he also was reliable, scoring 13.80 DK Points. The biggest disappointment of the week was Foster Moreau, as he only brought in one target on three looks. Moreau was cheaply priced at $2,700 but stepped into a big role as Waller was ruled out before the week.
