DFS Week 12 Recap

We’re now through Week 12 in the NFL and things are still never as they seem. Tom Brady and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers were in a high-scoring affair against Jonathan Taylor and the Indianapolis Colts. Brady only threw one touchdown in a game where 69 total points were scored. With that being said, let’s see how my weekly DFS picks played out!

QUARTERBACKS

To start, let’s look at how my quarterback picks performed this weekend. Matthew Stafford was the fourth-highest scoring quarterback, putting up 26.98 DK points. Stafford was followed by Justin Herbert, who scored 24.72 DK points. These two players ended up being the best of the bunch for my quarterback picks. My biggest letdowns of the week were Tom Brady and Cam Newton. Brady was the highest-priced quarterback at 7.6k and put up a poor 12.24 DK points. Newton was the other disappointment, as he was expected to have a big day against a weak Miami defense. 

RUNNING BACKS

Next, let’s evaluate the running back plays of the week. Jonathan Taylor was the highest-priced running back and he was seldomly used until the fourth quarter on Sunday. Joe Mixon was the second-highest scorer again this week, putting up 35.3 DK points. Mixon has been fantastic this season and is being used as a true workhorse without Giovani Bernard in the picture. The best value on the slate was Dontrell Hilliard of the Tennessee Titans, as he out-played his price tag by producing 22.3 DK points. The biggest letdown of the week was Saquon Barkley. Barkley received a promising 83% snap share but fell short of 10 DK points.

WIDE RECEIVERS

Cooper Kupp was the top-priced receiver at $9,600 on DK, but his performance was shy of 20 points. Deebo Samuel was one of my favorite picks of the week and he didn’t disappoint. Samuel had 20.8 DK points because of two rushing touchdowns. My top value pick, Brandon Aiyuk, produced three receptions for 91 yards, good for 12.5 DK points. My biggest letdowns of the week are Michael Pittman Jr., Elijah Moore, Chris Godwin, and Mike Evans. Both Pittman Jr. and Moore were put in positive matchups but failed to top 10 DK points. As for Godwin and Evans, both players struggled to produce 5 DK points as Leonard Fournette was vulturing receptions and touchdowns, putting up a massive 47.1 DK points.

TIGHT ENDS

Lastly, my coverage of tight-ends. My top play at the position, Rob Gronkowski, was the highest scorer producing 22.3 DK points. Pat Freiermuth was the next value for the tight end position and he also was reliable, scoring 14 DK Points. George Kittle was the biggest disappointment, as he only brought in one target on two looks.
