DFS Week 7 Recap

Wow, what a crazy week! The Kansas City Chiefs continue to struggle, as Patrick Mahomes leads the league in turnovers, losing to the Titans 27-3 this weekend. With that being said, let’s see how my weekly DFS picks played out!

QUARTERBACKS

To start, let’s look at how my quarterback picks performed this weekend. Kyler Murray and Aaron Rodgers produced modest numbers at the position, producing 22 and 24 DK points each. Tua Tagovailoa ended up being the best value pick on the board as he scored 28.54 DK points at a 5.5k price. Tua was the third-highest scorer of the week and certainly was a good player to start your lineups with. Patrick Mahomes was my biggest letdown at the Quarterback position, scoring an uncharacteristic 9.7 DK points.

RUNNING BACKS

Next, let’s evaluate the running back plays of the week. The struggle continued at the running back position this week as top options plummeted. Derrick Henry, the top rusher this season, scored a ‘low’ 16.40 DK points. This proved to be disappointing as Henry’s 9.2k price tag is not cheap. Low-priced option Damien Harris had a great performance as he was the second-highest scorer of the week. Devonta Freeman was someone I liked under a 5k price tag and he was able to produce a decent 12.9 DK points.

WIDE RECEIVERS

Now let’s dig into our wide receiver picks for the week. Cooper Kupp once again stepped up big time by pacing all receivers scoring a solid 40 DK points. Davante Adams, the top-priced option on the slate, produced at an expected rate scoring 19.6 DK points. If you chose to go with Adams this week you were not disappointed. Players Brandin Cooks, Robby Anderson, and Darnell Mooney, unfortunately, let us down as they all scored short of 7 DK points. Robby Anderson has let owners down as he week in and week out fails to catch passes and currently has a 34.9% catch rate. Sterling Shepard was a late inactive so hopefully, you checked your lineups to make last-minute adjustments.

TIGHT ENDS

Lastly, my coverage of tight-ends. The top-scoring pick of the week was C.J. Uzomah followed by Mike Gesicki. Gesicki was one of my favorite players on the slate as he has proved to be one of Tua’s favorite targets. Travis Kelce, the highest-priced option, let owners down as he underproduced by scoring a total of 12 DK points. Darren Waller, someone who I expected to have a bounce-back week, was a surprise inactive as he is nursing an ankle injury.

To conclude, never consider a player a “lock” for your lineup. To avoid having down weeks in DFS, consider a wide range of players and don’t overload exposure on one player. Also, injuries happen. Players bound for big weeks can end up not producing because of in-game injuries. That is the nature of sports betting. If it were easy everyone would do it
