In Dynasty Fantasy Football, there’s an added layer of strategy that Redraft formats can’t provide. Creating a team with longevity that can compete year in and year out is the ultimate goal. It’s essential to look beyond the current season and understand where our assets are trending in the long run. Dynasty is very much a player-value game; if you can master the art of buying low and selling high, you can accrue roster value consistently. With the concept of longevity in mind, I wanted to project what the Dynasty landscape will look like two years from today. Which players will make up the Top 12 from each position as we head into the 2027 season? This exercise should help us identify the top ascending assets in college and the NFL today. It should also tell us which players we may want to consider moving in the next year or two. This series will be broken into four parts for each fantasy position. All my rankings will be based on a Dynasty, Superflex, Tight End Premium format with four-point passing touchdowns. We’ll start with the quarterback position for this article.

The DFF Team volleys content ideas regularly in search of compelling articles at pertinent times. And though we’ve found our focus primarily on the 2025 NFL Rookie Prospects as of late, I asked the squad to pull together a mock start-up for the first five rounds. As the ideas started to percolate, @FFChalmers threw out the notion to not only cover the genesis of a startup draft, as we have done so many times in the past, but this time to make it an actual league. A bunch of us looked around the room and said, “Duh,” – so the DFF Dynasty League of Record was born (not to be confused with the other 5-6 DFF Leagues currently in operation). We hope that you can glean from the strategies, at least early on, should you choose to join a Startup before Free Agency or the NFL Draft. We start with the first round – Part 1 of 5.

Welcome back to some DFS with Doug. By now, we have hit our stride and our routine for the NFL season. Every Sunday, we handle the juggling act of getting all of our Dynasty and Redraft lineups in shape while trying to make bets and, of course, submit our DFS lineups to land that big payday. That Sunday morning sweat is my favorite feeling during football season. This week, we will benefit from a football game while doing that with our first international game of the season. Or perhaps you are crazy like me and will be waking up at 5:30 MT to set some Showdown lineups for that game, too!

Before you know it, we will watch the Super Bowl and begin another offseason. A much-overlooked aspect of Dynasty is value comparison, or comparing the values of Dynasty players to Redraft players and seeing which is worth more or less. You might be thinking, “Well, duh! Of course, older players are worth less in Dynasty than Redraft!” I agree! But what about Daniel Jones (QB – NYJ), who is only 26 years old? Should he be worth more in Redraft or Dynasty? Or how about Amon-Ra St. Brown (WR – DEN), who in Redraft has an ADP of WR10, but in Dynasty, he’s valued as WR6. Which side more appropriately values players? In this series, which will take place over eight parts (one part for each division), I’ll evaluate every skill position player on every team and give my thoughts on their value, whether they are overvalued compared to Redraft or undervalued. Usually, the appropriate value will be somewhere in the middle.

Decades ago, Neil Diamond wrote a catchy earworm melody that eventually became the song ”I’m a Believer”, and it was subsequently performed by numerous artists over the years. Today, I am here to address one of the more polarizing players in Dynasty as the plaintiff representing Mr. Daniel Jones. You could say, “I’m a believer” and with this article, I will present the facts to hopefully turn you into one as well. After you deliberate, you can be the judge and jury and make your own decision on whether you are in or out on Jones.

At this time of year, the NFL Fantasy Football space is dominated by Dynasty content. Everybody is talking about free agency, The Combine, and NFL Mock Drafts while Redraft season is a million miles away. Don’t get me wrong, I love rookie hype and lopsided trade offers as much as the next guy, but I also love to draft. And I assume you feel the same way; otherwise, you wouldn’t have clicked on this article. In my opinion, the best way to scratch that itch is with pre-draft Best Ball.

I’ll be honest, I’ve always been a HUGE Gardner Minshew fan. He came into the NFL severely underrated as a QB coming out of Mike Leach’s WSU offense where anyone could pass for 5,000 yards. However, Minshew was given his chance to play for the Jaguars, and he played well! replaced him with generational talent Trevor Lawrence, which is understandable, but how this guy hasn’t been given another shot by a different team after what he showed is beyond me. Minshew had to step in for an injured Jalen Hurts for a couple of spot starts last year, and again, looked impressive. Everything I’m hearing draft buzz-wise is that Indy may pass on a first-round QB and hand the reigns over to Minshew, making the mustachioed miracle an interesting buy low.

Now that you know what you will be getting into let us dive right in.

NFL teams every single year find themselves in one of two camps at this time. Those that have their Quarterback for the future and those that do not. Those that don’t are frequently tasked with drafting a quarterback, one of the most challenging parts of a General Manager’s job in the NFL. Over the years we have had plenty of decisions that get questioned for years to come. Ken O’Brien over Dan Marino or Peyton Manning over Ryan Leaf, the differences these selections make are truly franchise-altering decisions. This process is mimicked often in the Dynasty Football space as we sit and try to evaluate the talent and project how they will perform at the NFL level. Longevity is an important trait of Quarterbacks taken in the first round of our Superflex rookie drafts like NFL teams. We may tend in the Fantasy circles to like mobile Quarterbacks a bit more than the NFL thanks to their rushing floor but mostly want the same things NFL teams want in signal callers. Sometimes we hit, Andrew Luck was exactly what we thought he was coming out of college. Sometimes we miss though. Today’s two cases we will discuss that we as a community were wrong on.

As the dynasty league offseason is now in full swing, there are many upcoming NFL events to anticipate. Coming up on the calendar we have the likes of the NFL Scouting Combine, Free Agency, and the NFL Draft. In the fantasy football world, there is ample opportunity for value shifts for individual players and entire position groups. What better time to test the water than the end of February with a mock draft?
