Dynasty Superflex TEP Mock: Second Round

Welcome back for Part 2 of my Dynasty Superflex TE Mock Draft! If you missed Part 1, where I covered my Round 1 picks, you can check that out here. My Top 12 players for Superflex TEP formats look much different than they did this past offseason, due in large part to the drop-off in passing production across the entire league. Non-rushing quarterbacks are being pushed down my rankings while the elite skill players are being pushed up. As a quick summary, here were my Top 12 picks:

1.01 – Josh Allen (QB – BUF)

1.02 – Lamar Jackson (QB – BAL)

1.03 – CeeDee Lamb (WR – DAL)

1.04 – Justin Jefferson (WR – MIN)

1.05 – Malik Nabers (WR – NYG)

1.06 – Patrick Mahomes (QB – KC)

1.07 – Jayden Daniels (QB – WAS)

1.08 – Marvin Harrison Jr. (WR – ARI)

1.09 – C.J. Stroud (QB – HOU)

1.10 – Ja’Marr Chase (WR – CIN)

1.11 – Bijan Robinson (RB – ATL)

1.12 – Amon-Ra St. Brown (WR – DET)

In all, I have five quarterbacks, six wide receivers, and one running back in my first round. This offseason, I likely would have had nine quarterbacks and three wide receivers listed. This list may be a bit surprising, but in Dynasty, you have to play with conviction if you hope to stay a step ahead of your competitors.

As a reminder, the format here is PPR, Superflex, and TEP. Now, let’s take a look at my Round 2 selections.

2.01 – Jalen Hurts (QB – PHI)

I’ve never been shy about voicing my thoughts on Jalen Hurts as a real-life talent. I think he’s somewhere between the 15-20th best quarterback in the NFL, but his rushing upside and his ability to vulture goalline touchdowns was unmatched, making him an elite fantasy option. I still think he’s a cornerstone piece in Dynasty, but his rushing production has regressed a bit, and I’m not overly confident he’ll even be a starting NFL quarterback by the time he’s 30. Still, that should give us at least four more years of QB1 production, which makes him my QB6 overall.

2.02 – Kyler Murray (QB – ARI)

I don’t know if we can classify Kyler Murray as a true “Konami Code” quarterback like we can with Josh Allen, Lamar Jackson, and Jayden Daniels. But he’s averaging over 5 FPPG on the ground through three weeks this season, so the rushing upside is sufficient enough to make him my QB7 overall. Kyler has a couple of young stars to throw the football to in Trey McBride and MHJ, and we know he’s the starter through 2027 at minimum. Job security plus rushing upside equals premier Dynasty asset.

bowers

2.03 – Brock Bowers (TE – LV)

Brock Bowers didn’t need any time to get acclimated to the NFL environment. He’s the TE2 overall in fantasy points through three weeks, and in terms of Dynasty value, he’s the TE1 overall and in his own tier. In tight end premium formats, Bowers should be an early second-round selection. He was the greatest college TE prospect of all time, and that has fully translated to the next level.

2.04 – Joe Burrow (QB – CIN)

Joe Brrr. He may not be the most exciting second-round pick you can make, but it’s a safe one, assuming he can stay healthy. He’s the face of Cincinnati, we know the passing volume will be there, and he has some rushing upside (although we haven’t seen him rush much in 2024). Burrow is a name I would’ve considered as early as 1.06 this past summer, but due to the new NFL passing environment, you can’t justify having him that high on your list.

2.05 – Rashee Rice (WR – KC)

Rashee Rice has made it abundantly clear that he’s Patrick Mahomes’ WR1 and has legitimate WR1 overall upside this year. He’s sitting at a 32.9% target rate this year, according to PFF. There may not be another wide receiver who has a safer weekly floor than Rice, based on volume and who his quarterback is. Obviously, we still have a suspension looming, which will likely take place during the 2025 season at some point. However, from a Dynasty perspective, the missed games shouldn’t deter you much. As long as he stays out of trouble moving forward, I don’t see how Rashee can fail.

2.06 – Caleb Williams (QB – CHI)

Caleb Williams has not gotten off to the start Chicago fans and Dynasty players had hoped for. Through three games, the 2024 first-overall pick has just two touchdown passes to go along with four interceptions. Two of his three games resulted in Caleb finishing as the QB29 or worse. Drafting Caleb is going to require a bit of patience; he’s not finishing as a QB1 as a rookie. Just remind yourself he’s not Bryce Young; there’s value insulation here, and he’s still the same guy who won the Heisman as a sophomore while looking like a Patrick Mahomes clone. He’ll be fine.

2.07 – Jahmyr Gibbs (RB – DET)

Jahmyr Gibbs has lived up to the hype and more through his first 1+ years in the NFL. He’s an explosive, electric back, and an elite receiving option. Gibbs is never going to see 300+ rush attempts in the season, but that’s not how we’d want our superstar deployed anyway. Dan Campbell has found the sweet spot in terms of touches to maximize Gibbs’ efficiency. I view Jahmyr similarly to a prime Alvin Kamara. He has the upside to win you weeks by himself.

breece

2.08 – Breece Hall (RB – NYJ)

Some people are cooling on Breece Hall in Dynasty due to Braelon Allen’s unexpected involvement in this Jets’ offense. I don’t see this as being a major hindrance to Breece’s production, as he’s seen 20+ touches in all three weeks this season. Similar to Gibbs, Hall is a PPR monster and is capable of putting your Dynasty team on his back any given week. I’ll give Gibbs the nod, as he’s a year younger, but they should be valued back-to-back.

2.09 – Anthony Richardson (QB – IND)

This is by far the riskiest pick in the second round, but also the one with arguably the highest ceiling. Richardson has looked downright awful as a passer to start the 2024 season, making questionable decisions and routinely overthrowing receivers. I’m beginning to question whether he has what it takes to be a starting NFL quarterback, but I’m not ready to throw in the towel. AR came into the NFL with only 13 college starts under his belt, so he’s still extremely new to this. And if anyone can figure out how to fix Richardson, it’s Shane Steichen.

2.10 – Jordan Love (QB – GB)

Jordan Love suffered an MCL sprain in Week 1 against the Eagles but has a chance to return for Week 4 against NFC Division rival Minnesota Vikings. Love had an underwhelming Week 1 outing, completing just 50% of his pass attempts, but did finish as QB11 overall for the week. I have all faith in the world in Matt LaFleur, who has helped revive Malik Willis’ career in two short weeks. We saw Love’s upside as a passer last season, throwing for three touchdowns in six different games. He won’t get you much on the ground, but he has a safe fantasy floor.

2.11 – De’Von Achane (RB – MIA)

De’Von Achane deserves to be in that Tier 1 of RBs alongside Bijan, Breece, and Gibbs. He’s taken on a major role in this Miami offense in Year 2, seeing 17, 29, and 14 touches, respectively. The efficiency hasn’t been there yet, and it may not be there until Tua comes back, but in Dynasty, Achane is a playmaker worth investing in for the long run. I pray he stays relatively healthy throughout his career because this kid is exciting to watch.

2.12 – Nico Collins (WR – HOU)

Initially, I had Garrett Wilson slotted in as my final pick in the second round, but I had to go with Nico after thinking it over further. With Nico, he was not a producer when he first entered the NFL, but his peripheral numbers have improved drastically across the board every season. He finished as the WR9 overall last year, and while many were worried about the addition of Stefon Diggs to this Houston offense, Collins has proven he’s the alpha on this team. Nico has earned 28 targets through three weeks and I expect that consistency to continue all year.
