Dynasty Risers and Fallers Week 3

Top 5 Dynasty Sleeper Buys

I’ll be honest, I’ve always been a HUGE Gardner Minshew fan. He came into the NFL severely underrated as a QB coming out of Mike Leach’s WSU offense where anyone could pass for 5,000 yards. However, Minshew was given his chance to play for the Jaguars, and he played well!  replaced him with generational talent Trevor Lawrence, which is understandable, but how this guy hasn’t been given another shot by a different team after what he showed is beyond me. Minshew had to step in for an injured Jalen Hurts for a couple of spot starts last year, and again, looked impressive.  Everything I’m hearing draft buzz-wise is that Indy may pass on a first-round QB and hand the reigns over to Minshew, making the mustachioed miracle an interesting buy low.

Predicting and Analyzing the 2023 RB Carousel: AFC & NFC South

The 2023 offseason promises big changes to the running back landscape in the NFL. Over the next couple of weeks, I’ll go over my predictions for the running back situations of each team, as well as the corresponding fantasy implications. Check out Part 6 of this series, where I looked at the NFC North. Today, in a 2-for-1 special, we’ll take a quick look at the AFC and NFC South divisions.

Week 9 Streamers

How did we get here? How is it already Week 9 of the regular season? We are halfway done, and there’s still plenty of time to go on a fantasy playoff push. With SIX teams on bye this week, it’s likely that you will need to stream a position or two. Remember, we always provide the best players to stream at quarterback, tight end, and D/ST. Each streaming option will have ownership under 60%, according to ESPN. Below, you will find two streamers per position and a “deep stream” option (15% or lower).

NFL Player Props: Thursday Night Preview

Week 5 kicks off with what should be a low-scoring matchup between two underperforming AFC teams as the Colts (1-2-1) travel to the Broncos (2-2) for Thursday Night Football. The Colts enter this contest as underdogs after losing their best offensive weapon, Jonathan Taylor, this past Sunday. On the other side, the Broncos lost their star running back, Javonte Williams, for the season, but the home-field advantage on a short week keeps them as favorites.

Week 4 Streamers

Week 4 is officially among us, and it’s now the point of the season when you start to understand where you stand with your fantasy team(s). It may be time to pull off a blockbuster trade. It may be time to let go of some of your high draft capital players. And most importantly, it may be time for you to stream certain positions. As always, we will provide the best weekly options to stream at quarterback, tight end, and D/ST. Remember that each streaming option will be below 50% owned, according to ESPN. Below, you will find two streamers per position and a “deep stream” option (15% or lower) as well.

Week 3 Dynasty Waiver Wire

Hello DFF members, my name is Chris and this year I will be writing the weekly dynasty waiver adds piece. In this article I will be writing about players that I feel should be owned in much higher quantities in your dynasty leagues. I will try to stick to low ownership percentages, around 30% or less, but if there is a guy above that, who I think should be owned significantly more I will include them as well. I will be focusing on a 12-team, full PPR set-up for these articles but the players I am choosing should apply in 10-team leagues as well. Without further ado let’s get into the waiver adds.

Fantasy Stock Up, Stock Down: AFC South

Welcome back to the “Fantasy Stock Up, Stock Down” series (preseason edition). We have officially made it to Week 3 of the preseason. Positional battles are ramping up. Injuries are opening up opportunities for players looking to earn significant roles and/or roster spots. And the time to be the most active in dynasty leagues is NOW. We are going to hear “hype” reports from beat reporters. And we are going to hear some reports that make us feel a little uneasy about our player investments. Us Dynasty Managers must constantly research ways to bolster our rosters. In this continuation series, we will dive deep into one player whose dynasty stock is increasing and one player whose dynasty stock is decreasing from each team in every division. Today, we will break down the AFC South.

2022 Projections: Indianapolis Colts

When we loosely compare players, most people feel they have a good idea of what kind of production to expect. We may think “Jonathan Taylor is easily the RB1 overall this season with the upgrade to Matt Ryan from Carson Wentz.” These are the sort of questions I look to answer with my process. I make projections to ground myself and to help understand what is possible, probable, or realistic. So, in this series, I will be going through each NFL team and making median projections for their 2022 seasons with their most fantasy-relevant players. I may be able to discern if certain players are being undervalued immediately but in most cases, I will need to finish more teams to get a good idea.

Dynasty Market Sweep: Post-Draft Rookie TE Market Report

Greg Dulcich surprisingly saw a minor but noticeable boost to his market value after the 2022 NFL Draft. Dulcich checks all the boxes of an NFL tight end but lacked primary production at UCLA to back up his stunning size and athleticism. Despite already having Albert Okweugbunam on the roster, the Broncos elected to select Dulcich in the middle of the third round.

2022 DFF Draft Coverage: Max Borghi

Indianapolis welcomes Borghi to a running back room that already includes Jonathan Taylor, Nyheim Hines, and Deon Jackson. Borghi should get a chance at competing for the RB3 spot with Jackson, but let’s be honest here, he won’t see the field much unless injuries to others give him an opportunity. He’s a strong runner, who could find himself with a short-yardage role, but Taylor is possibly the best back in the league at this point. He’s also a great pass-catcher out o the backfield, but even Hines may be one of the best at that feat as well. Don’t bother drafting Borghi in any league formats, but he’s worth a gamble on your taxi squad if you truly believe in him.

2022 DFF Draft Coverage: Jelani Woods

Woods came into college as a quarterback but quickly shifted to tight end early on at Oklahoma State. Although his production wasn’t anything to be amazed by, Woods was voted honorable mention all-conference, as he hauled in seven receptions for 120 yards and two touchdowns in six games played. He earned the same accolades in 2019 and 2020 as a tight end with little productions. After his Junior season, the big-bodied tight end transferred to Virginia for his senior season. That turned into a wise move, as he set career highs with 44 receptions for 598 yards in 11 games played. He earned first-team All-ACC honors and finished tied for ninth in the school’s history with eight touchdown receptions in a single season.

2022 DFF Draft Coverage: Alec Pierce

After serving as a special teams player during the 2018 season, Pierce was given an opportunity with the Bearcats on offense in 2019. He started 12 of the 13 games and led the team with 652 receiving yards. Pierce led Cincinnati with 18.5 yards per reception the next season but was limited to just six games with a shoulder injury. In his final season, he bounced back in a big way, as Pierce was named a first-team Academic All-American. In 14 games played, he hauled in 52 receptions for 884 yards and eight touchdowns.

Dynasty Market Sweep: Quarterback Carousel Part 2

Welcome to the Dynasty Market Sweep, a weekly recurring offseason article focusing on substantial value disparities in the dynasty market consensus. The very nature of the instantaneous fantasy news feed has made the dynasty market more reactionary and volatile than ever before. Once the proverbial petrol is poured and Twitter fingers snap to ignite, player values can burn to the ground overnight. Value changes of this nature cause a ripple effect across the market. For every step up the ladder, someone must move down and vice versa.

Rapid Reaction: Matt Ryan Traded to the Colts

The offseason quarterback carousel continues. Matt Ryan’s name has been synonymous with the Falcons franchise for over a decade. That time is no more. After 14 long-tenured years with the same team, Matty Ice is on the move. The Colts are acquiring the veteran services of the former NFL MVP for a third-round pick in the upcoming NFL Draft, per Ian Rapoport. Ryan becomes another name on the long list of quarterback changes occurring around the league. There are colossal fantasy implications for both parties involved. A transaction of this magnitude will have a lasting ripple effect throughout the 2022 season and beyond. Let’s dive in.

Fantasy Stock Up, Stock Down: Indianapolis Colts

Welcome back to the “Fantasy Stock Up, Stock Down” series (off-season edition). Free agency is looming, and rumors are spreading like wildfire. Meanwhile, we as Dynasty Managers need to be listening in and thinking about our off-season adjustments. Who are we going to target in Rookie Drafts? Who are we going to go out and trade for? Who are we willing to give up in return? Will you go all in this season to bring home a championship? Or should you go young and prepare for the future? There’s so much to think about before September. The “offseason edition” of this series is an early look at whose stock is up and whose stock is down as we head into free agency and draft season. We will break down each NFL team one by one. Today is all about the Indianapolis Colts.

IDP Wrap Up: Week 12

Rasul Douglas had another remarkable game at cornerback against Matthew Stafford and the Los Angeles Rams. In his effort, Douglas accrued six total tackles, defended four passes, and took an interception to the house in Lambeau Field on Sunday. Douglas is a great option in BestBall leagues and is in a prime position to contribute in the IDP playoffs.
