Welcome to your Week 10 edition of Dynasty Starts/Sits. We’re getting into the home stretch of the season. Even the less flashy moves can still prove to be meaningful in the NFL. We’ve seen plenty of under-the-radar signings create fantasy hidden gems. So, that begs the question; what free agents will prove to be great values in 2023? Today, we’ll take a look at if new Houston Texans tight end Dalton Schultz can be one of those guys.

Today we’re going to review a couple of recent free agent RB signings and analyze how they will affect not only the players themselves but the teams they signed to as well as other players on the team from a dynasty fantasy football perspective.

The 2023 offseason promises significant changes to the running back landscape in the NFL. Over the next couple of weeks, I’ll go over my predictions for the running back situations of each team, as well as the corresponding fantasy implications.

So, you lost in the fantasy playoffs. Now what? The way I see it, you’ve got two options. You can spend the next month sulking about how Terry McLaurin’s illegal formation penalty cost you a title (I’m totally over it as you can see), or you can get back to doing what you love most: drafting fantasy teams. If the season left a bad taste in your mouth, or you just aren’t ready to emerge from your fantasy football cave and rejoin polite society, you need playoff BestBall.

Welcome to the Dynasty Market Sweep, a weekly recurring offseason article focusing on substantial value disparities in the dynasty market consensus. The very nature of the instantaneous fantasy news feed has made the dynasty market more reactionary and volatile than ever before. Once the proverbial petrol is poured and Twitter fingers snap to ignite, player values can burn to the ground overnight. Value changes of this nature cause a ripple effect across the market. For every step up the ladder, someone must move down and vice versa.

First, I’ll just touch on my process. I start by looking at the team and individual player trends over the last two to three seasons. I get stats like target shares, rush attempt shares, yards per carry, yards per reception, completion percentage, touchdown shares, etc. As well as team-focused metrics like pass-to-rush play ratio (this is team pass attempts divided by team rush attempts), pass-to-rush touchdown ratio, and plays per game. I then use these past trends to predict what will be in store for 2022. Here are my projections for the Buffalo Bills’ fantasy-relevant players.

In financial terms, arbitrage is a complicated concept that involves the simultaneous buying and selling of the same asset. In fantasy football, however, arbitrage has a simpler definition: get this guy instead of that guy. Typically, a fantasy football arbitrage involves two players with similar situations or ranges of outcome that are available at wildly different price points. For example, in 2021 best ball drafts, Kyler Murray and Lamar Jackson went off the board around pick 55* while Jalen Hurts was available over 50 slots later, typically going around pick 109. All three QBs were prized for their rushing ability, and all three finished within one PPG. This means that Hurts was the better investment when considering the relative cost of each player.
Once again, I need to give a big shoutout to Matt (@PsychWardFF on Twitter) for taking over Paul’s Picks in Week 13. Despite his incredibly solid process, Matt had a pretty unlucky week of picks. Of course, in this totally upside-down season, we all seem to be getting more wrong than right. But this week, I’m hoping to right the ship. In many leagues, this is the final week of the fantasy regular season. In others, the playoffs have already begun. Either way, there is a lot on the line. So, let’s take a look at some names at every position that I believe will exceed expectations or fall flat in Week 14.

Unless we’re analyzing workhorse running backs or alpha wide receivers, a player’s usage can fluctuate from week to week. Some will shine and some will ruin your week. Remember, targets and opportunities are earned. In this first quarter special article, I will provide season target shares, rushing attempt shares, and snap shares of SIX players (or group of players) to help you understand the value of each of them and decide whether to start ‘em, roster ‘em, or trade ‘em.

Whew. This past week was much better than the first. Most of my teams that started off with a loss got back to even and a number of solid teams moved to 2-0. Sadly there are more 0-2 teams in my portfolio than I would like. We know a lot more about the landscape out there today than we did two weeks ago, but we still need more time for the process of variance to give us a clearer picture. I have made some crucial start/sit mistakes but am hoping to get ahead of the curve this week and I hope you do, too.

Aaron Rodgers, Aaron Jones, Cortland Sutton, and Mike Williams were big hits in Week 2, and sitting Saquon Barkley and Brandon Aiyuk worked out nicely. Elijah Mitchell had some bad luck near the goal line, I was evidently wrong to doubt Michael Pittman, and I might have to give up on Marquez Callaway. But now we’re on to Week 3. As always, I’ll be bringing you names at every position that I believe will exceed expectations or fall flat.
Let’s get into the picks.

Some of these names will be available depending on league size and are worth putting in a waiver claim on. I’ll be bringing you dynasty free agents each week so, without further ado, here are your week two priority waiver adds!

Finding a true bell-cow running back in the NFL is hard to come by these days. Most teams elect to utilize multiple backs for various situations. Whether it is goal-line work, third down, or simply just to keep the defense guessing, more running backs are getting involved on offense at a more frequent rate. While plenty of value and fantasy points can come from running backs on the same team, there are a few backfields that I am avoiding at all costs.
