Dynasty Data Trendz – Week 8

Finding trends in underlying data has always been critical to staying one step ahead of your Dynasty league. Many key metrics stabilize quicker than fantasy points and predict future fantasy breakouts. This series analyzes that data for you and details which players you need to be ahead of the curve on before their Dynasty value appreciates or depreciates.

Dynasty values used for this article are from Keep Trade Cut which is a Dynasty community-driven value tool.

Statistics used are from NFL PRO premium next-gen stats.

Last week, we had one strong buy recommendation. That was Cade Otton who was priced as the TE17 on KTC and went off for 29.1 fantasy points behind his 9 reception, 81 yard, 2 TD performance.

New England Patriot Wide Receivers

Week 8

Targets Receptions Yards TD Routes Target Share Yards Per Route Run
Boutte 6 3 46 0 27 20.0% 1.7
Henry 6 5 45 0 24 20.0% 1.9
Thornton 3 2 20 0 5 10.0% 4.0
Douglas 3 2 12 0 22 10.0% .5

Kayshon Boutte emerged on the scene to lead the Patriots in routes run,27, in Week 8. Boutte was once a five-star recruit and the second-ranked wide receiver in the 2020 class. A right ankle fracture derailed his career and led to him being a sixth-round NFL pick.

Kayshon Boutte is priced as the WR85 on KTC. At this price, I maintain a buy rating.

Hunter Henry is priced as the TE22 on KTC. At this price, I maintain a buy rating.

Carolina Panthers Wide Receivers

Week 8

Targets Receptions Yards TD Routes Target Share Yards Per Route Run
Coker 6 4 78 1 32 15.7% 2.4
Legette 7 4 34 0 25 18.4% 1.4
Moore 5 4 39 0 33 13.2% 1.2

Diontae Johnson was just traded to the Baltimore Ravens leaving this wide receiver room wide open.

Legette figures to be the most in-demand target given his first-round pedigree. He also had a suspect prospect profile with zero production for four years before a massive fifth-year breakout. Of course, he is also the most expensive.

Coker is one of four rookie wide receivers or tight ends with a PFF grade over 80 this year. He also has the fourth-highest receiving yards per team pass attempt of any college-wide receiving prospect over the last decade.

The others are Brock Bowers, Malik Nabers, and Brian Thomas Jr.

Jalen Coker is priced as the WR104 on KTC. At this price, I maintain a strong buy rating.

Xavier Legette is priced as the WR45 on KTC. At this price, I maintain a hold rating.

Los Angeles Charger Wide Receivers/Tight Ends

Week 8

Targets Receptions Yards TD Routes Target Share Yards Per Route Run
McConkey 6 6 11 2 28 18.8% 4.0
Palmer 4 2 72 0 28 12.5% 2.6
Dissly 7 5 41 0 25 21.9% 1.6

Ladd McConkey had a huge breakout game this week with 31 fantasy points. I liked McConkey as a prospect and he has performed well but his ceiling is somewhat capped by the offense and his role.

Buried in the McConkey breakout was another solid performance by Dissly. Dissly is running more routes than he ever has. He has a prolific injury history and when healthy has primarily been used as a blocking tight end.

Will Dissly is priced as the TE47 on KTC. At this price, I maintain a strong buy rating.

Ladd McConkey is priced as the WR26 on KTC. At this price, I maintain a hold rating.

Tyrone Tracy is the undisputed RB1 in New York now. He was an intriguing prospect as I Posted in April.

This past week he dominated rush attempts 20 to 2 over Singletary. He exploded for 145 yards.

Demand is high for Tracy right now. That said he is priced fairly high on Keep Trade Cut.

Tyrone Tracy is priced as the RB22 on KTC. At this price, I maintain a hold rating.

Devin Singletary is priced as the RB57 on KTC. At this price, I maintain a hold rating.
