Whew. This past week was much better than the first. Most of my teams that started off with a loss got back to even and a number of solid teams moved to 2-0. Sadly there are more 0-2 teams in my portfolio than I would like. We know a lot more about the landscape out there today than we did two weeks ago, but we still need more time for the process of variance to give us a clearer picture. I have made some crucial start/sit mistakes but am hoping to get ahead of the curve this week and I hope you do, too.
RESULTS
Main Event 1-1 overall great to get back to even and maybe I can start stacking victories (and points)
FBG 16-20 this week with a few 2-0 teams but my misses at WR are killing me
FFPC 1QB Dynasty Legacy Teams 0-3 both of my startups from this year are underperforming
FFPC SuperFlex Dynasty Legacy Teams 3-3 some close losses but these teams are good and victory points matter
FFPC 1QB Dynasty Orphan Project Teams 1-6 a couple of these have earned VPs and can compete
FFPC SuperFlex Dynasty Orphan Project Teams 9-17 overall some of these are stacked and were purchased to compete now and some are more of a teardown discount
FFPC Overall Week 2 H2H : 25-43 I am being noble and including my projects here, ha yeah that’s it
WAIVERS WEEK 2

Theirs:Â In a single-QB FFPC league I saw a team trade Ezekiel Elliott (RB – DAL) and Robert Tonyan (TE – GB) for the package of Devin Singletary (RB – BUF) and a 2022 first-round pick. In a SuperFlex league, I saw a team trade the package of George Kittle (TE – SF) and Rondale Moore (WR – AZ) for D.J. Moore (WR – CAR), Cole Kmet (TE – CHI), and a 2022 first-round pick. Both trades seem reasonable and fair to me.
FF GAMESMANSHIP
Week 2 was really not any less wild than the first week, and I am really not sure how much more clarity we have now. I have a number of rosters where I am still going to be relying on some names that I am ready to give up on. The debacle that is Trevor Lawrence (QB – JAX) is going to need to be better if I can feel good about starting the likes of DJ Chark and Laviska Shenault, wide receivers I drafted in a high number of leagues. I benched Michael Pittman this week and that hurt, I was stubborn with Brandon Aiyuk (WR – SF) in a couple of spots, and I was actually dumb enough to expect Jameis Winston (QB – NO) to be at least decent for fantasy. Marquez Callaway (WR – NO) and Michael Gallup (WR – DAL) were guys I was expecting to get solid production out of. The wide receiver position has been a mess for me through two weeks. Running back has somehow been better, at least in terms of bench regret and start/sit decisions.
Sigh. Take a deep breath and realize it is still super early in the season and I really do have some very strong foundations to most of these rosters. I have three auction SF dynasty teams that are in the top-40 in the dynastydepot.com leaderboard race. I have seven 2-0 FBG teams (that need to score more points) and some high-scoring teams that have lost some close matchups. Last year I took two teams where I drafted Christian McCaffrey (RB – CAR) to the championship round.
At this time I am not making any decisions about any of my dynasty teams’ ability to compete now. The projects that I knew were going to be projects are still that way, and it takes longer than two weeks for the cream to rise to the crop. Never give up and let’s keep balling folks!
