Comparing ADP, Dynasty to Redraft: AFC West

A much-overlooked aspect of Dynasty is value comparison, or comparing the values of Dynasty players to Redraft players and seeing which is worth more or less. You might be thinking “well, duh! Of course, older players are worth less in Dynasty than Redraft!” to which I agree. But what about Daniel Jones (QB – NYJ), who is only 25 years old? Should he be worth more in Redraft or Dynasty? Or how about Amon-Ra St. Brown (WR – DEN), who in Redraft has an ADP of WR10, but in Dynasty he’s valued as WR6. Which side more appropriately values players? In this series, which will take place over nine parts (one part for each division and a rookie roundup after the draft), I’ll be evaluating every skill position player on every team and giving my thoughts on their value, whether they are overvalued compared to Redraft or undervalued. Usually, the appropriate value will be somewhere in the middle.

Russell Wilson

Russell Wilson 2023 Projection: Mr. Unlimited Comeback?

Welcome back, Dynasty family! On the docket today, we’re covering Russell Wilson, one of the most polarizing players in fantasy football. The Broncos made headlines this offseason, finalizing a deal with the Saints that sent Sean Payton to Denver. Payton has one of the most illustrious coaching resumes in the NFL today, and Broncos Country is hopeful this blockbuster move will put their team back on the map. Unfortunately, 2022 was a tough season for the Broncos. Fans put most of the blame on Wilson’s shoulders, and rightfully so. He was one of the biggest disappointments last season, both from a fantasy football perspective and an NFL perspective. So what should the expectations be in 2023 and beyond for Russ, giving the coaching upgrade? I’m going to help answer that question for you below.

Top 5 Dynasty Sleeper Buys

I’ll be honest, I’ve always been a HUGE Gardner Minshew fan. He came into the NFL severely underrated as a QB coming out of Mike Leach’s WSU offense where anyone could pass for 5,000 yards. However, Minshew was given his chance to play for the Jaguars, and he played well!  replaced him with generational talent Trevor Lawrence, which is understandable, but how this guy hasn’t been given another shot by a different team after what he showed is beyond me. Minshew had to step in for an injured Jalen Hurts for a couple of spot starts last year, and again, looked impressive.  Everything I’m hearing draft buzz-wise is that Indy may pass on a first-round QB and hand the reigns over to Minshew, making the mustachioed miracle an interesting buy low.

Predicting the 2023 RB Carousel: AFC West

The 2023 offseason promises big changes to the running back landscape in the NFL. Over the next couple weeks, I’ll go over my predictions for the running back situations of each team, as well as the corresponding fantasy implications. Week 15 Streamers

HERE WE GO! It’s Week 1 of the playoffs for most of you! There are a ton of fantasy managers scrambling to find some great streaming options here in Week 14. The quarterback position may be the most important, as players like Lamar Jackson, Kyler Murray, Russell Wilson, Marcus Mariota, Jimmy Garoppolo, Matthew Stafford, and Kenny Pickett are all likely to miss this week. This week features some high-ceiling players, some low-risk/safe players, and some deeper league/shot-in-the-dark, players. Remember, we always provide the best players to stream at quarterback, tight end, and D/ST. Each streaming option will have ownership under 60%, according to ESPN. Below, you will find two streamers per position and a “deep stream” option (15% or lower). Let’s stream our way into Round 2 of the fantasy playoffs together!

NFL Player Props: Thursday Night Preview

Week 5 kicks off with what should be a low-scoring matchup between two underperforming AFC teams as the Colts (1-2-1) travel to the Broncos (2-2) for Thursday Night Football. The Colts enter this contest as underdogs after losing their best offensive weapon, Jonathan Taylor, this past Sunday. On the other side, the Broncos lost their star running back, Javonte Williams, for the season, but the home-field advantage on a short week keeps them as favorites.

Week 5 Streamers

Some of your highly invested players may not be panning out. Some may be doing exactly what you thought they would. Either way, it’s a very long season, and there is always a way to better your roster. Streaming is never a bad idea whether your team has started 4-0, 0-4, or anywhere in between. We will always provide the best weekly options to stream at quarterback, tight end, and D/ST. Remember that each streaming option will be below 60% owned, according to ESPN. Below, you will find two streamers per position and a “deep stream” option (15% or lower) as well.

Javonte Williams Injury: Rapid Reaction

As if things couldn’t get any worse for the Denver Broncos, it has been reported that second-year running back Javonte Williams has torn his ACL, LCL, and posterior lateral corner, and will miss the remainder of the 2022 season. With the landscape at the running back position already starting off confusing this season, this injury only adds to the chaos. Here’s how I’d navigate moving forward as a dynasty manager.

Best Ball Is The Only Way To Mock

I haven’t done a mock draft in years, aside from a couple of rookie mocks for DFF earlier this offseason where we published our results. I have been doing cheap $10 and $35 dollar buy-in best ball leagues for years and pretended as though I was mocking. I was experimenting, I was reaching, and I was trying to see how far I could take a certain strategy from an early, mid, or late draft slot before that strategy breaks (in my pre-September mind). I have treated those best ball drafts as research. It’s what most people call mocking, but I do it with live drafts with real money.

2022 Projections: Denver Broncos

Even though the touches will be very split Javonte Williams and Melvin Gordon can both be usable backs. I do think that people are underestimating the effect that Melvin’s presence has on Javonte’s touches as his ADP of RB12 seems very high for the stats I am projecting. On the other hand, Melvin Gordon seems undervalued and is a great grab at his ADP of RB36. This discrepancy in ADP does not make sense to me because both are hampered by each other and were in a 50/50 split in 2021. And, if either gets hurt the healthy player will be a top ten back. So, Gordon being drafted so much later is hard to grasp. I think Javonte should be drafted lower and Gordon should be drafted higher.

Dynasty Market Sweep: Post-Draft Rookie TE Market Report

Greg Dulcich surprisingly saw a minor but noticeable boost to his market value after the 2022 NFL Draft. Dulcich checks all the boxes of an NFL tight end but lacked primary production at UCLA to back up his stunning size and athleticism. Despite already having Albert Okweugbunam on the roster, the Broncos elected to select Dulcich in the middle of the third round.
