Roster Building Strategy: Positional Values as Stock Investments

We move deeper into Dynasty Non-Points-Scoring Season as the NFL Post Season nears a close which means trading, startups, and loading up for the rookie draft will be the only thing to do for a few months. But it’s important to understand that building a competitive roster for multiple seasons means correctly valuing players by position and individuals. Whether or not you’re new to Dynasty or a seasoned vet you can use my helpful “Stock Market” analogy when investing assets into trades or drafting in startups.

Week 10 Dynasty Waiver Wire

Hello DFF members, my name is Chris and this year I will be writing the weekly dynasty waiver adds piece. In this article I will be writing about players that I feel should be owned in much higher quantities in your dynasty leagues. I will try to stick to low ownership percentages, around 30% or less, but if there is a guy above that, who I think should be owned significantly more, I will include them as well. I will be focusing on a 12-team, full PPR, Superflex set-up for these articles but the players I am choosing should apply in 10-team leagues as well. Without further ado, let’s get into the waiver adds.

Let’s Argue: Running Backs Aren’t that Valuable

Breece Hall is out for the season, James Robinson was traded to the Jets, Najee Harris is doing his best T-Rich impression, and the Twitter-verse still can’t find the value of a dynasty running back. This gives me the perfect opportunity to throw fuel on the fire with some curated arguments from the analyst group chats and Twitter (where we waste time instead of making content) and I’ll add my two cents with some sound advice.

Dameon Pierce: Asymmetrical Downside

To best understand Pierce’s range of outcomes in the future, we first have to examine his current production. Pierce ranks as the RB13 in PPR leagues at the time of this writing. He has averaged 19.5 PPG over his last four games with at least 100 scrimmage yards in every contest. He’s been great for fantasy.

Dynasty Market Sweep: Veteran RB Evaluation

Welcome to the Dynasty Market Sweep, a weekly recurring offseason article focusing on substantial value disparities in the dynasty market consensus. The very nature of the instantaneous fantasy news feed has made the dynasty market more reactionary and volatile than ever before. Once the proverbial petrol is poured and Twitter fingers snap to ignite, player values can burn to the ground overnight. Value changes of this nature cause a ripple effect across the market. For every step up the ladder, someone must move down and vice versa.

Zamir White: 2022 Dynasty Profile

Zamir White was the number one RB in his class coming out of high school and a top-ten national recruit before signing with the Georgia Bulldogs. “Zeus,” as he was called, unfortunately, tore his ACL late in his senior season, however, and then tore his other ACL in August 2018, which caused him to redshirt the fall. He worked hard and overcame these injuries, rushing for 408 yards and three TDs on 78 carries in 2019, playing behind D’Andre Swift.

Fantasy Stock Up, Stock Down: Las Vegas Raiders

There’s only one obvious fantasy player that sees a decent fantasy boost going into the 2022 season. “Bring in the Carr.” What most fantasy managers don’t realize is that he has improved steadily throughout his career. His completion percentage has improved mightily since entering the league. He smashed his career-high in passing yards this past season. Sure, he’s turned the ball over a little more as of late, but what’s most important is that Carr finished as the QB13 in 2021, which is tied for the second-best finish (2016 was his best) during his eight-year career. Barring injuries, he should have no problem serving as the QB12 or better going forward now that his former college teammate, Davante Adams, is hauling in passes from him once again.

Art of Arbitrage: Part 2

Dynasty fantasy football has often been compared to the stock market. While there are some flaws in this analogy, many of the general principles are the same. We want to “buy low” and “sell high.” We want to diversify our portfolio across multiple leagues to mitigate risk. We want a healthy mixture of upside and safety in our investments. And, we want to look for arbitrage opportunities.

Long Reign The King

At Dynasty Football Factory, we are always trying to become the best version of ourselves in all facets of the fantasy game. That is why we like to expand our horizons every chance we can and do things outside of our comfort zone. In comes our redraft league, where myself and 13 other staff members participated in. So today I invite you to grab something to drink, get comfortable and I’ll tell you the tale of how I brought out my boomstick and decimated the league, going 13-1 and walking away with the title and an overall record of 15-1. I’ll recap my draft and my thought process behind it along with the moves that made me look like Rainman at the blackjack tables in Vegas and not some idiot having to eat a “one chip challenge” because Houston won more than two games.

Paul’s Picks: Week 15

The fantasy playoffs are officially in full swing, which means our margin for error has shrunk to zero. Every start/sit decision could mean the difference between advancing or falling short. So, let’s take a look at some names at every position that I believe will exceed expectations or let you down in this crucial week.

Psych’s Picks: Week 10

Greetings #DFFArmy, and welcome. My name’s Matt Ward, or as many of you know me from social media, Psych Ward. I’ll be filling in for Paul Patterson in this week’s edition of “Psych’s Picks.” Every week, Paul lists his top starts and sits with the keys to success for each player. I want to add: I will personally be favouring and fading these players in my own matchups.

Paul’s Picks – Week 9

I whiffed on a lot of “starts” in Week 8. Truthfully, I’m still reeling from Kenny Gainwell’s usage, or lack thereof, and the duds we saw from Mike Williams and Emmanuel Sanders. But at least the “sits” were spot on. Now it’s time to take a look at Week 9. As always, I’ll be bringing you names at every position that I believe will exceed expectations or fall flat.

Let’s get into the picks.

Paul’s Picks – Week 7

I’m not going to lie, the “starts” were brutal in Week 6. Taylor Heinicke, Chase Edmonds, Kenny Gainwell, Tee Higgins, and Michael Pittman failed to provide average performances, let alone exceed expectations. I refuse to take the L on Kadarius Toney, though, who had three receptions for 36 yards before being injured in the first quarter. Unfortunately, with six more teams on a bye this week, my job won’t be getting any easier. As always, I’ll be bringing you names at every position that I believe will exceed expectations or fall flat. Let’s get into the picks. Starts: Quarterbacks Ryan Tannehill, Titans vs. Chiefs As predicted, Ryan Tannehill underperformed in a tough matchup against the Bills. However, I’m expecting a bit of a bounce-back in Week 7. The Chiefs are allowing the 2nd-most points to opposing QBs this season even after limiting Taylor Heinicke to just 10 points last week. With A.J. Brown back in the lineup, and Patrick Mahomes forcing the Titans into passing situations, I believe Tannehill can come through with his second top-12 finish of the season.   Tua Tagovailoa, Dolphins vs. Falcons Tua looked good in his first game back from injury. He threw for 329 yards and two TDs against the Jaguars, finishing as the QB10 for the week. He should get DeVante Parker back in the lineup for a Week 7 matchup against the Falcons, who have been carved up by Jalen Hurts, Tom Brady, and Taylor Heinecke. He’s a solid fill-in if you have Allen, Prescott, Herbert, or Cousins on bye. Starts: Running Backs

DFF Redraft Recap – Weeks 1-4

We are four weeks into the fantasy football season, and already the NFL looks a lot different than it did heading into Week 1. Devastating injuries, big breakouts, and shocking busts have likely reshaped the landscape of your fantasy league, as well. At this point, we’ll begin to see which teams are contenders and which teams are just pretenders.

In this article, I’ll be giving you a behind-the-scenes look at the DFF Redraft Championship league standings. I’ll provide a brief overview of each team and make a prediction about their rest-of-season performance. Ready for the tour? Let’s start in the basement.
