Dynasty Sleeper of the Week: Devontae Booker

Welcome back to another dynasty sleeper segment. Receivers have been a hot target throughout this series due to the sheer volume at the position. This week I will be looking at the scarce position of running back and a veteran, by position standards, Devontae Booker. Booker is currently a backup in the Las Vegas Raiders backfield coming off a nice game in Week 9. As always, this is not necessarily a pickup column but rather we will look at players off the beaten path and that you can keep an eye on or add to the end of your bench.

#TomBomb: Tennessee Titans

The nice thing about some of these takes is that they simply write themselves. Now, I’m sure you’re wondering why in the world I’ve placed a 26-year old RB who has logged 804 professional carries, in four years, as my #1 Tennessee Titans buy-low dynasty asset. That’s fair. However, if that’s the case, then you just simply don’t know Old Tom as well as I’d like. Over and over and over again I’ve continued to pound the table on the reality that my dynasty philosophy is much more win-now oriented than most. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not oblivious to the future and what that entails. But, I will also be damned if I’m ever going to enter a season removed from the possibility of hoisting that championship trophy.

Leonard Fournette: 2020 Dynasty Profile

Now is the time to run away from Fournette. The Jaguars tried to trade him multiple times during the 2020 NFL Draft, and they declined the fifth-year option on his contract. Therefore, Fournette will be an unrestricted free agent after the 2020 season, and he will play for a different team in 2021. The 2021 free agent running back class is a stacked group, with multiple superior options to Fournette that potentially include Cook, Mixon, Kamara, Aaron Jones, Kareem Hunt, and others.  I wouldn’t wait until the season begins because Fournette will lose value if he isn’t the same workhorse as before. Trust me and get out now while you still can. If you can get any 2021 first-round pick for Fournette, I would make that trade in a heartbeat.

DFF Dynasty Daredevil

In this article, it’s time to look at the dynasty dynamite canisters. These are the guys that can explode in value or blow up and become nothing. I expect each of these players to do exactly that by the end of 2020. There’s no in-between, as I don’t foresee a mediocre outcome. Most of these players are on their “last chance” for dynasty owners. But, each has the upside to be a top asset.

Miles Sanders Dynasty Profile

Miles Sanders: 2020 Dynasty Profile

Entering the second year of his rookie contract with one of the top offensive play-callers as his head coach has left me drooling at the idea of what Sanders’ ceiling could be. I see his value continuing to trend in a positive direction over the coming years as he establishes himself as a top 10 asset in all of fantasy football. I have him as the RB6 in my dynasty rankings, which is slightly ahead of his current RB7 ADP.

James Conner: 2020 Dynasty Profile

James Conner was drafted by the Pittsburgh Steelers in the 3rd round of the 2017 NFL draft. He was quiet in his rookie season. But, when Le’Veon Bell held out in 2018, James Conner broke out in a big way. He finished as the RB6 with over 1,400 total yards, 55 receptions, and 13 TDs. Conner dealt with multiple injuries in 2019, appearing in just 10 games. His efficiency regressed as the Steelers offense crumbled in the absence of Ben Roethlisberger, but he still finished as the RB17 in PPR PPG.

The Las Vegas Unicorn: Lynn Bowden Jr.’s Post-Draft Profile

Before the NFL Draft, I thought Lynn Bowden Jr. would be used as a slot receiver in the NFL, considering how dominant and explosive he was as a sophomore leading the Kentucky Wildcats receivers. I wrote a pre-draft profile on Bowden, highlighting his ability and potential as a pass-catcher. However, shortly after being drafted by the Raiders in the 3rd round, they have announced Bowden will be a RB. After breaking down Lynn Bowden Jr, as a pass-catcher back in January, I will now break him down as a ball carrier, and give some insight on the fantasy impact you can expect from him in 2020 and beyond.

UDFAs To Know: RB Edition

Draft capital is king; however, GMs aren’t perfect. The following running backs were all undrafted and had significant fantasy value: Austin Ekeler, Phillip Lindsay, Fred Jackson, C.J. Anderson, Arian Foster, and Priest Holmes. Will any of the running backs end up being as valuable? Probably not, but they ranked high enough on my pre-draft film ranking to warrant getting their names out there to dynasty league players. When looking at undrafted free agents, talent matters, but so does opportunity and each of the four players below is closer to an opportunity than the other undrafted free agents.

RB Age Cliff: The RB1’s

n this article, I’m going to take a look at the running back age cliff. In dynasty formats, player value and performance tends to decline after a player hits a certain age. RBs tend to decline faster than other positions and peak earlier in their careers. The question is: when is the top of the cliff, and when should you consider selling RBs in dynasty?

Dynasty Debate: Josh Jacobs, Is He Elite?

Welcome to the kickoff of a new series of articles I will be starting that will delve deeper into certain debates that are popular within the dynasty community. The purpose of these debates is not to convince you which side of the argument is correct but rather to shed light on a particular player and lay out a convincing counter-argument to their current narrative. Here we will discuss Josh Jacobs, running back for the Las Vegas Raiders.

Eno Benjamin Declares For The 2020 NFL Draft

he talent in this RB class has been spoken of with high regard. D’Andre Swift, Jonathan Taylor, and JK Dobbins are all skilled backs who look like early first-round picks in dynasty rookie drafts. To those unfortunate enough to miss out on those guys, don’t worry. There’s a player who can be had later in this draft who can ease your worries. This man resides in Tempe, Arizona and he’s good at football. I am pleased to introduce you to Eno Benjamin.

Sanders vs. Singletary Rap Battle

In light of LeSean McCoy’s recent release, our writers had a spirited discussion that nobody thought was likely to ever occur four months ago. So in the spirit of “8 Mile”, @DFF_Mike2 and @DFF_Biscuits have decided to have a rap battle about two rookie RBs. Is Miles Sanders or Devin Singletary the better asset in dynasty leagues for year one, for 2020 and beyond, or both?

Dynasty Hot Routes: RB Depth Charting

Who is your long shot juggernaut (or someone currently listed third on an NFL teams depth chart) RB for 2019?Joshua Johnson @DFF_ CogLet’s really roll the proverbial dice here! Give me Samaje Perine because why not, he is practically free. If you own Derrius Guice or especially Adrian Peterson throw a fourth-round pick at the Perine owner right now! He is probably thinking about cutting him anyway. With both Peterson and Guice’s injury history, it’s ludicrous to think Perine won’t see close to 100 touches………………………………

Don’t Call It a Committee: Aaron Jones is Your Lead Back in Green Bay

Reports this offseason have been that the plan in Green Bay is to go with a running back by committee approach for next season. As someone who has shares of Aaron Jones in every dynasty league, this news doesn’t exactly make me feel all warm and fuzzy inside. New head coach Matt LaFleur said he believes a committee is the most effective approach, while GM Brian Gutekunst says he wants Jones on the field as much as possible. Helpful, I know. Jones is the more explosive and talented running back, so rest assured this will be his backfield. After starting the season off suspended for two games, Aaron Jones slowly took back his role as the starter. Week eight saw Jones take the reins and dominate the role in the backfield, taking 12 carries to Jamaal Williams four. He added two receptions while Williams had zero. Ty Montgomery had two carries and saw only two targets. He would fumble on a late kick return and would then be traded to the Baltimore Ravens less than a week later. With Montgomery gone Jones was able to start taking over the backfield, and it looked like he was heading toward his first 1,000 yard season until he went down with an MCL injury for the second year in a row.

RB THEOREM: College 2kers vs Rookie Output and Career Gains Part II

Larry Johnson (Penn State 271 att. 2,087 yards 7.7 YPA) The year was 2002 and Johnson had never seen more than 75 carries or 358 yards in a college season. He had been locked in a timeshare with somebody named Eric McCoo. When the trust was finally put in Johnson as a senior he rumbled
