Dynasty: Week 13 Buy/Sell

Hello, fellow fantasy managers. I am Chris Miles, The Draft Director, and welcome to the first installment of my Dynasty Buy/Sells. I will be helping you determine what players value you should be taking advantage of in your dynasty leagues as we approach the fantasy playoffs and offseason. If someone’s value is too high I might tell you to sell. If I think their value will decrease soon, he could also be a sell. I will give my reasoning for why each player falls in a certain category. There will be advice for both contenders and rebuilders so whichever boat you’re in you can get information from these articles. I will attempt to have the format consistently be two buys and two sells for both rebuilds and contenders, but that may increase or decrease depending on the week.

Kickoff Countdown: 2 Dynasty Buys, Sells, and Holds

We’re just two days from NFL kickoff and that means one of the last opportunities to acquire or trade a player before reality sets in. Once the ball gets rolling there are no more “what ifs” and unknowns. If a player you love hits, you may have already missed the chance to trade for him at a reasonable price. If they bust, good luck finding a suitor with a decent offer. The DFFArmy is doing what we do best, staying ahead of the competition and keeping you overly prepared for year-round dynasty fantasy football.

Dynasty Sleeper of the Week: Isaiah Ford

Last week we took a look at Jordan Akins who was headed to a breakout week before suffering a concussion against the Vikings. He should still be widely available if you need a tight end. This week we will be diving into a wide receiver on a team with a ton of potential. This week’s dynasty sleeper is Isaiah Ford. The 7th round pick in 2017 has carved out a nice little role in the Miami Dolphins offense at the beginning of the 2020 season. According to MyFantasyLeague, he is only owned in 20% of leagues, so it shouldn’t be hard to attain Isaiah Ford at his current price.

Dynasty Sleeper of the Week: Jordan Akins

Welcome back to Dynasty Sleeper of the Week! As mentioned in previous weeks, this is not a waiver article. This is more of a player that should be on your radar article. Last week we hit the running back position. This week I am hitting a tight end I believe can be added today that you can plug and play over some TEs you are holding on to in your leagues. That player is Jordan Akins of the Houston Texans. According to ESPN, he is owned in 3.8% of leagues at the moment on My Fantasy League it jumps to 42%, however, I still do not believe that this is enough for a TE that has shown some flashes the past few weeks. If you can grab Jordan today, do it.

Dynasty Sleeper of the Week: Javon Wims

With week one in the books, I am back to give you another player to keep in mind for your dynasty roster. This is not a waiver column. Each week I will try and bring you names off the beaten track that you can put on the end of your bench or just keep an eye on. Last week’s choice was Jakobi Meyers and while he went catch-less last week. The Patriots offense will continue to grow. Keep him on the watch list. This week I bring you another wide receiver no one is talking about and that is Javon Wims.

Dynasty Sleeper of the Week: Jakobi Meyers

For Week 1, we will start with a player that has had very little news about him in the last few weeks. He is a Patriot and part of a much-maligned receiving core. We are searching for some value in the margins, and this Patriot offense is as much up in the air as anything at this point. Who Cam Newton targets after Julian Edelman and N’Keal Harry is a giant question mark.

Dynasty Story: Mike Evans

In a dynasty story, I’ll look at a single player and how his value has fluctuated over time, starting from their college profile. I’ll factor in his NFL stats and generally discuss what he did in each of his NFL seasons. Then, I’ll look at their 2020 prospects before wrapping it up with a final recommendation and dynasty strategy.

Today, it’s time for a deep dive into Mike Evans. Let’s jump right in!

Dynasty WR Buys: Mid-Range Part 2

I’m back to the dynasty side of writing with a series on veteran dynasty buys at the wide receiver position. I started off looking at three buy-high receivers. Then, I moved into the mid-range of dynasty value, beginning with a detailed dive into Tyler Boyd and Michael Gallup. As I referenced in that piece, I believe that the mid-range of dynasty WRs is a value goldmine with so many undervalued players in that group. Let’s jump into two more players that I think are excellent dynasty buys.

The Las Vegas Unicorn: Lynn Bowden Jr.’s Post-Draft Profile

Before the NFL Draft, I thought Lynn Bowden Jr. would be used as a slot receiver in the NFL, considering how dominant and explosive he was as a sophomore leading the Kentucky Wildcats receivers. I wrote a pre-draft profile on Bowden, highlighting his ability and potential as a pass-catcher. However, shortly after being drafted by the Raiders in the 3rd round, they have announced Bowden will be a RB. After breaking down Lynn Bowden Jr, as a pass-catcher back in January, I will now break him down as a ball carrier, and give some insight on the fantasy impact you can expect from him in 2020 and beyond.

Tyler Lockett: Lockdown Value

I don’t know about you, but I’ve been doing plenty of drafting during this extended period of isolation and lockdown. What else am I supposed to do? One player who seems to be consistently undervalued be it either in a season-long best ball or dynasty start-up draft is Tyler Lockett. I’d be willing to wager he will be undervalued in redraft leagues come August as well.

Digging for Jules: Is Julian Edelman worth a dynasty buy?

We all know the first rule of dynasty strategy. Successful owners find continued success because they are able to thread the needle of turning aging talent into young players and/or rookie picks. Julian Edelman is certainly a name owners are looking to sell as he enters his last year under contract, and possibly the end of his career. If you’re a team in contention, should the first rule apply, or should you be digging for Jules?

Don’t You Forget About Me

In this article, I’m going to walk you through three players that had a down season in 2019, but who I expect to either bounce back or breakout in 2020. For variety’s sake, I’ve decided to look at a running back, wide receiver, and tight end. Also, I’ve picked three very different types of players to explore the different ways to buy at this time in the offseason.

Pre-Draft Roster Moves: Part 1

I am going to touch on a few players that I think you should make moves on, either trading away or trading for, before the NFL Draft. These are players who I believe will have significant value changes once their team completes the draft. Looking ahead and capitalizing on values in the offseason can set your team up for success come next fall.
