We’re now through Week 13 and the craziness has not stopped. The Detroit Lions were able to end their winless season as they upset the Minnesota Vikings with a last-second touchdown. The top team in the AFC went down as the Baltimore Ravens lost a close one against the Pittsburgh Steelers. With that being said, let’s see how my weekly DFS picks played out!
We’re now through Week 12 in the NFL and things are still never as they seem. Tom Brady and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers were in a high-scoring affair against Jonathan Taylor and the Indianapolis Colts. Brady only threw one touchdown in a game where 69 total points were scored. With that being said, let’s see how my weekly DFS picks played out!

What an absolutely crazy week of upsets! The presumed best quarterback on the slate couldn’t lead his team to even score a touchdown against the Jaguars. THE JAGUARS! I feel like we’re all in a dream and that this week is a lie! With that being said, let’s see how my weekly DFS picks played out!
While losing isn’t fun, especially in fantasy football, I would advise taking a different view of your team. Once you change your perspective, rebuilding can then be the real goal rather than winning week in and week out. Actually losing in your tanking efforts is now the mission. All I can really say about Week 8 is that I did alright overall. I would classify it as a “come-back-to-Earth” kind of week. I had solid results in Redraft and really didn’t do so well at all in Dynasty. But by having performed so well up to this point, I have earned some cushion to be able to absorb weeks like this. I have suspected for a while now that Week 9 would be the much better (worse) sequel to the bye-apocalypse that occurred in Week 7. And so far that has proven to be correct.

A soft-tissue injury to Kittle’s calf has resulted in a surprising three-game stint on injured reserve after playing 92% of the 49ers’ snaps against the Seahawks in Week 4. As I got comfortable in my recliner a few minutes before kickoff this past Sunday, I told my wife about how the first week of NFL action can be really wild. I explained a little about the nonsense with Trey Sermon (RB – SF) being deactivated, and that although I was surprised and disappointed, I had drafted Elijah Mitchell (RB – SF) in nearly half my leagues as a late dart throw and stood to come out ahead. The only thing better than getting Mitchell in a couple of waivers this week was knowing I already took him in the fourth round of rookie drafts back in May and anywhere between the 16th and 20th rounds of redrafts this year. I don’t see too many changes amongst the rankings at the top of the list. Josh Allen has a huge amount of rushing upside and if he can be close to as efficient as he was last year, with an upgraded receiving corps, he has the likelihood of repeating. Patrick Mahomes is on another level, but I do expect the Chiefs to utilize their RBs at some point. While this may seem like slander to not predict Mahomes at 1; he is still my Dynasty Startup 1.01 as I think we can expect top-5 performances into his 30s. That consistency is the value to pay up for early in a startup, but Allen’s rushing upside cannot be overlooked. Jalen Hurts has the luxury that Lamar Jackson had in his second season. Hurts started enough games to have a taste, but teams haven’t schemed for him yet. He has the potential to put up 1000 yards on the ground and is in an offense that will throw the ball more than Baltimore has, and will likely trail in more games which will necessitate airing it out. I would like to be proved wrong but I think this will be the ceiling season for Hurts and at some point this year we should seek to move your shares or ride him to the ship and move on. Lamar Jackson, Kyler Murray, and Justin Herbert will likely feature in or around this list but regression or low volume will likely limit their vault into the top-3.

Congratulations! I hope this applies to a lot of y’all, as I believe my readers are educated and smart fantasy players who have made it to the finals of their leagues. My overall percentage of teams in the playoffs is down compared to normal, but 2020 has been nothing but normal right? Like last week, we had several big-time rookie performances in Week 15. Jalen Hurts was the top-scoring player across all positions, and Justin Herbert was QB6. D’Andre Swift was RB10, Jonathan Taylor was RB15, Brandon Aiyuk was WR6, CeeDee Lamb WR11, and Justin Jefferson WR16. So if you rostered and played these rookies, you’re happy you did!
