Dynasty Wide Receivers to Buy and Sell

Welcome back for Part 3 of my buy and sell series. If you’ve missed either of the first two editions, you can check out my tight end article here and my running back article here. In today’s article, I’ll look at which wide receivers you should target or sell in dynasty before the season, based on where your team currently stands. Let’s dive right in. 

Step 1: Figure out what your team is. (Based on 12-team leagues)

Top tier: projected top 4 team in your league, legit contender
Middle tier: projected to finish between spots 5-8 in your league
Bottom tier: projected to finish in the bottom 4 of your league
Top Tier

If you are a top-tier team, hopefully you have at least one top-7 wide receiver (Chase, Smith-Njigba, Nacua, St.Brown, Nabers, Jefferson, and Lamb). If you don’t, I would be trading for one of the following guys:

A.J. Brown – Mid-1st Round
Jaylen Waddle – Late-1st Round
Tee Higgins – Late-1st Round
Terry McLaurin – Early-2nd Round
D.J. Moore – Early-2nd Round
Davante Adams – Mid-2nd Round
Mike Evans – Late-2nd Round

They all have top-20 scoring potential, but are valued outside the top 18 because of their age. I would move one of the following players to acquire a name from the list above: Jordyn Tyson, Makai Lemon, Marvin Harrison Jr., KC Concepcion, Denzel Boston, De’Zhaun Stribling, Omar Cooper Jr., Ja’Kobi Lane, and Jayden Higgins.

Those who follow my work know I approach all of my rankings from an analytical foundation and then layer in additional context on top of that. This series is no different. The foundation of my Dynasty rankings is a proprietary model that utilizes a combination of predictive metrics with an emphasis on prior season fantasy points per game and then combines that with a position-specific age multiplier, flattening of TD luck, and position adjustment. This is the Dynasty 1 Score. From there, I layer on situational adjustments that pure statistics can not identify. I also prioritize consistency in my rankings. How likely are the players to be able to repeat their prior season performances based on their archetype? With that introduction, let me introduce you to my Dynasty rankings series. Note these are a snapshot in time vs. the always-evolving rankings you can find on our rankings site. When to Target Wide Receivers in Redraft Leagues

Continuing my Redraft series, I’m now going to look at the average draft position (ADP) for wide receivers in 2025. My goal for this is to identify the ideal ADP windows for targeting the RB position versus other positions.

I looked at the top 96 players in 2025, and 43 wide receivers were taken in that range. I looked to see how the player did based on their draft position. I am using sleepers’ ADP (average draft positions).

The Jefferson Tax Act: Dynasty Fantasy Football’s Most Expensive WR2

Let’s just say it out loud: Justin Jefferson is being drafted like it’s still 2022. But it’s not 2022 anymore. And the numbers don’t care about reputation. I’m not saying Jefferson is bad. I’m not saying he suddenly forgot how to run routes. I am saying that fantasy managers are paying for a version of Jefferson that no longer exists — and may not be coming back, despite where he lands in NFL fantasy rankings. This is not my Packers’ bias coming into play – although I do enjoy seeing him fail. What this actually is is a classic case of name value outrunning production.

Dynasty Football Factory League of Record: Startup Draft – Round 1

The DFF Team volleys content ideas regularly in search of compelling articles at pertinent times. And though we’ve found our focus primarily on the 2025 NFL Rookie Prospects as of late, I asked the squad to pull together a mock start-up for the first five rounds. As the ideas started to percolate, @FFChalmers threw out the notion to not only cover the genesis of a startup draft, as we have done so many times in the past, but this time to make it an actual league. A bunch of us looked around the room and said, “Duh,” – so the DFF Dynasty League of Record was born (not to be confused with the other 5-6 DFF Leagues currently in operation). Jared Goff’s New Contract Implications for Dynasty Fantasy Football

Jared Goff gets his long-awaited contract from the Detroit Lions. Goff signed a four-year, $212M contract including a $73M signing bonus with $170.6M guaranteed. This makes Goff the second-highest-paid player in the NFL, only to Joe Burrow (QB – CIN). In the words of Head Coach Dan Campbell, you’re good enough for Detriot Jared Goff, and they proved it monetarily. Goff led the Lions to their first NFC championship appearance since 1992 and narrowly lost the game to San Francisco, 34 to 31. While this is great for Lions fans and Jared Goff, this helps us figure out what to do with the Lions’ skill players in Dynasty.
