Amari Cooper: Not the Top-10 Receiver You Think

Amari Cooper has monopolized his team’s target share over his career. He’s seen at least 20% every season since 2015. This is something just 10 other wide receivers have accomplished. The thing is, of the wide receivers who’ve received at least 20% target share over the last three seasons, Cooper is last in average target share (20.2%). He’s received exactly 20% two of the last three seasons and it didn’t get much better in Dallas (20.7%). Cooper is dangerously close to falling below the 20%+ target share threshold. This is a benchmark almost all top-10 fantasy wide receivers reach in a given season. Brandin Cooks is the only receiver to finish in the top 10 since 2015 with below a 20% target share and he finished with 19.4%.

Rookie QB Debuts

We saw four quarterbacks get drafted in the 1st round of the 2020 NFL draft. While all have aspirations to be the face of their respective franchises, all have very different avenues to get there. In this article, I lay out each of these QB’s paths to their starting role, and when I expect them to make their debuts. Joe Burrow, Cincinnati Bengals While I am aware of how enamored everyone was with Ryan Finley’s three starts in Weeks 9-11 last year, there is no doubt Burrow will be the starting QB for the Bengals come Week 1. He is coming off a historic senior season at LSU. Joe threw for 5,671 yards and he broke the NCAA record for TD passes (60) as well as QB rating (202). Mike Brown and Zac Taylor didn’t draft Burrow to sit and learn, they drafted him to be the next guy right away. Joe won the starting job when Goodell announced his name at the draft. With solid weapons in Joe Mixon, A.J. Green, Tyler Boyd, and fellow rookie Tee Higgins, Joe should be a solid fantasy QB right from the get-go. The Bengals O-line is a concern, ranking 26th and 30th via FBoutsiders and PFF respectively. However, the return of 2019 1st round pick Jonah Williams will be a welcome sight. Joe Memmolo’s Inaugural Dynasty Rankings

Prologue On May 2nd, 2020 I received a message on Twitter from my boss at Dynasty Football Factory. I was a little nervous at first–I had only joined this amazing team two months prior. I was also exhausted and still recovering from the marathon that was the “Rapid Reaction: 2020 NFL Draft Landing Spot” series where I had prepped and written out in-depth pieces on over 15 running backs over the three day period, each releasing no more than 30 minutes after the pick was made. It was a lot, but I loved it.  Boss: “Hi Joe! Question for ya! Can I assume with your recent balling out with the Draft Rapid Reactions that you will be planning to hit your quota each month going forward?” Me: “Of course! And thanks!” Boss: “Well then, I have an offer for ya…” Me: “Whatcha got for me?: Boss: “Wanna be our official Dynasty ranker?” Me: “Hot damn! I’d love to be! Boss: *Party Time gif inserted here* “You’ve earned it my friend.” Overlooking the fact that I responded to good news with the phrase “Hot damn!”, this was an incredibly happy moment for me. Seeing my hard work recognized and coming to fruition was incredibly self-affirming. The fantasy football community is vast and filled with people that are always trying to help each other. The Las Vegas Unicorn: Lynn Bowden Jr.’s Post-Draft Profile

Before the NFL Draft, I thought Lynn Bowden Jr. would be used as a slot receiver in the NFL, considering how dominant and explosive he was as a sophomore leading the Kentucky Wildcats receivers. I wrote a pre-draft profile on Bowden, highlighting his ability and potential as a pass-catcher. However, shortly after being drafted by the Raiders in the 3rd round, they have announced Bowden will be a RB. After breaking down Lynn Bowden Jr, as a pass-catcher back in January, I will now break him down as a ball carrier, and give some insight on the fantasy impact you can expect from him in 2020 and beyond.

DFF Factory Workers’ Dynasty League Rookie Draft

I wasn’t joking when I said I leaned heavily on rookie picks in the DFF Factory Workers’ Dynasty League. I also chose to lean heavily on wide receivers in the rookie draft as I mostly faded them in the start-up. My starting receivers are Allan Robinson, Brandin Cooks, and Marquise Brown. Not a sexy group by any means but Robinson is the real deal and I’ll stand by that. Cooks and Brown are boom/bust type players but Cooks is still just 26 years old in a really good situation as the lead wide receiver for Deshaun Watson in Houston.
