DeAndre Hopkins

Rapid Reaction: DeAndre Hopkins to the Titans

After dreams of DeAndre Hopkins becoming a member of either the Kansas City Chiefs or Buffalo Bills, we must now face the reality that DeAndre Hopkins will be a member of the Tennessee Titans in 2023. Being from Nashville myself, my news feed has tons of photo edits of him wearing the number 10 jersey in the two-tone blue. Opinions are all over the place as this is one player changing teams that is a massive challenge to evaluate on a dime. An offense centered around Derrick Henry doesn’t present itself as the most wide receiver-friendly offense from a fantasy football perspective. We also have the memories of WRs like Randy Moss, Andre Johnson, and Julio Jones coming to the Titans at the end of their careers to put up minimal production. So much to unpack here with this signing. Not only how the Titans impact DeAndre Hopkins but also how Hopkins impacts the rest of the Titans players.

Breaking Down the Dynasty WR Landscape: Part 2

Hello DFF members, today I will be continuing my series where I break down the current wide receiver market in Dynasty one ADP tier at a time. If you did not read part one, you can find it here. I recommend reading that first as it introduces and explains all the stats I will reference in this article. But, without further ado, let’s dive into where I left off.

Offenses to Avoid in 2023

Even the most talented of NFL players can see their fantasy production fall victim to horrid offenses. We’ve seen great football players like D.J. Moore, Jonathan Taylor, or the entire 2022 Broncos’ offense who enter year after year with loads of hype, but ultimately fail to meet our expectations in fantasy football due to the situation of their offense as a whole. Today, we’ll project which NFL offenses could spawn fantasy disappointment in 2023.

Best Mid-Round Values: Players to Target in Rounds 9+

The Dynasty Startup Draft is a pivotal day in your Dynasty career, laying the foundation for your team’s future success. Properly valuing players and making quality picks can immediately create distance between you and your league mates. A successful draft could give you the upper hand, while a poorly constructed team could result in years of rebuilding. To avoid getting off to a slow start, I’m giving you my list of mid-to-late-round players to target in your next startup draft. I’ve based my player values on a Dynasty PPR Superflex, Tight-End Premium League.

@DynastySavant’s 2023 Dynasty Buy-Low WR Candidates

The beauty of Dynasty Football is that the action never ends. Owners are constantly looking to make moves in the offseason, listening to podcasts to gain an edge, ranking and re-ranking their player list, you name it. Being a Dynasty degenerate, I like to pass the time by scrubbing through endless “Power Rankings” lists. While doing so this offseason, I’ve noticed three names that I believe are significantly undervalued. Here are my “buy-low” wide receiver candidates for the 2023 Dynasty season. I recommend putting out some feelers to see what you can get for these players!

Comparing ADP, Dynasty to Redraft: AFC South

A much-overlooked aspect of Dynasty is value comparison, or comparing the values of Dynasty players to Redraft players and seeing which is worth more or less. You might be thinking “well, duh! Of course older players are worth less in Dynasty than Redraft!” to which I agree. But what about Daniel Jones (QB – NYJ), who is only 25 years old? Should he be worth more in Redraft or Dynasty? Or how about Amon-Ra St. Brown (WR – DEN), who in Redraft has an ADP of WR10, but in Dynasty he’s valued as WR6. Which side more appropriately values players? In this series, which will take place over nine parts (one part for each division and a rookie roundup after the draft), I’ll be evaluating every skill position player on every team and giving my thoughts on their value, whether they are overvalued compared to Redraft or undervalued. Usually, the appropriate value will be somewhere in the middle.

What to Do at Picks 4-6?

So you’ve got an early-mid pick in your start-up draft this off-season and are unsure what to do? I’m going to be continuing this series to help you out. Unlike in my last article where I hadn’t done a startup from an early slot, I’ve done one startup from an early-mid draft slot, so I’m going to be taking a look at my draft and my good friend @PaulDFF’s draft, both of which are from the same startup. Afterward, I’ll discuss other players I like at different rounds of the draft. Both of the upcoming teams I’m highlighting were not from a third-round reversal, or 3RR draft, but in continuing with the fashion of my last article, later I’ll be discussing players I like in 3RR and non-3RR. Let’s hop in.

The DFF Dynasty Start-Up Mock Draft: Part 2

As the dynasty league offseason is now in full swing, there are many upcoming NFL events to anticipate. Coming up on the calendar we have the likes of the NFL Scouting Combine, Free Agency, and the NFL Draft. In the fantasy football world, there is ample opportunity for value shifts for individual players and entire position groups. What better time to test the water than the end of February with a mock draft?

What To Do At Picks 1-3 In Your Dynasty Start-Up?

So you’ve got an early pick in your start-up draft this off-season and you’re not sure what to do? I’m going to be continuing this series to help you out. Unlike in my last article, I have yet to do a start-up from an early draft slot, so I’m going to be taking a look at a couple of teams whose draft strategy I love and break down their picks, then discuss other players I like at different rounds of the draft.

What to Do at the 1/2 Turn?

So you got the 12th pick in your startup draft. Now what? In the next few articles, I’m going to be explaining why you should be cheering. Every year, ADPs and values change, and this year, especially with third-round reversal, or 3RR, the 10th-12th picks in your startup drafts contain amazing value on a ton of high-end players.

Revisiting Redraft Predictions: AFC Edition

Since August 25th, I’ve had a thread pinned to my Twitter profile containing one Redraft prediction for each NFL team. Now that the fantasy football season is over, it’s time to look back at those predictions and see which ones were spot on and which were laughably wrong.

Rationalizing Lingering Injuries

I had a thought today – why do we as Dynasty players not value injuries enough? Let me explain – players who we know are good or marginally good see their production fall after being injured. Instead of simply understanding that human bodies do not perform at their best when injured, the analytics community cites advanced or semi-advanced metrics as the explanation for the decreased production instead of the decreased production as simply a byproduct of injury.

Injury Roundup Week 15

Injuries are inevitable in fantasy football. How you prepare and react to them is what can make or break your fantasy team. Did you build a bench with sufficient depth to withstand the running back carousel? How do you pivot if a key player goes on injured reserve? Each week we will look at the most impactful injuries in the fantasy world and what players will step up their fantasy production as a result.

Mid-season 2022 Rookie Wide Receiver Values Check in

The NFL season has almost reached its midway point. Things are getting tough in the fantasy football streets. Injuries are destroying the hopes and dreams of many fantasy managers. While the weekly grind can sometimes seem overwhelming, it’s important in dynasty to take some time for reflection. Now that we have a decent sample size of NFL play from the 2022 rookie class, we can start to make more accurate valuations on certain players.

Rookie Revolution: Drake London and Garrett Wilson Have Arrived

Historically, rookie wide receivers have taken the beginning of the season to integrate themselves into the passing game plan and develop chemistry with the quarterback. However, two of the five aforementioned rookies, London and Wilson, fast-tracked the proverbial rookie wide receiver waiting period with eye-popping performances through two weeks. Let’s look at them as prospects and dive into their peripherals to see if this start is sustainable.

Training Camp Takes: How Training Camps Impact Dynasty

The long football drought is finally over. A torrential downpour of offseason hype is flooding timelines as mandatory training camps are in full swing in the latter summer months. Preseason is fast approaching as teams ramp up in-house drills in preparation for the new campaign. Training camp reports can have a tangible effect on player value and, subsequently, the dynasty market as a whole. Today, we will analyze several recurring trends we see during the height of hype season and the impact those trends have in your Dynasty Leagues.

Dynasty Market Sweep: Veteran QB Evaluation

Welcome to the Dynasty Market Sweep, a weekly recurring offseason article focusing on substantial value disparities in the dynasty market consensus. The very nature of the instantaneous fantasy news feed has made the dynasty market more reactionary and volatile than ever before. Once the proverbial petrol is poured, and Twitter fingers snap to ignite, player values can burn to the ground overnight. Value changes of this nature cause a ripple effect across the market. For every step up the ladder, someone must move down and vice versa.

Fantasy Stock Up, Stock Down: Tennessee Titans

Welcome back to the “Fantasy Stock Up, Stock Down” series (offseason edition). Us dynasty managers must constantly research ways to bolster our rosters. Do you need advice on who to trade for? During this series, we dive deep into one player whose dynasty stock is increasing and one player whose dynasty stock is decreasing. As always, we will break down each NFL team one by one. Today is all about the Tennessee Titans.
