Moves to Make in a Dynasty Rebuild

While losing isn’t fun, especially in fantasy football, I would advise taking a different view of your team. Once you change your perspective, rebuilding can then be the real goal rather than winning week in and week out. Actually losing in your tanking efforts is now the mission. I am going to go over a few moves we can make at this point through the season while our teams cement themselves at the bottom of the league standings.

IDP Crystal Ball Week 8

Your author gives his apologies for not providing this article last week, as the wife needed an unexpected minor surgery. All is well now. As readers know, in this weekly article, we will take a look at a couple of IDP players available in many leagues that appear to show promise or have a foreseeable path to time on the field and production. The hope is that you can acquire these players for free or relatively close to free. It depends on the depth and settings of each individual league. Qualifying players are those available in at least two-thirds of full IDP leagues on MyFantasyLeague.com (MFL).

IDP Wrap Up: Week 5

Haason Reddick came in as the top defensive lineman of week five, pestering Jalen Hurts all day long. The former Temple star has really found a home in the Carolina defense, and his statistics are proof of exactly that. On Sunday, Reddick stacked up two sacks, eight total tackles, and two TFLs at home against the Eagles.

Against The Spread: Week 4

The most exciting game of the week was when the Chargers traveled to Kansas City for a matchup between two of the best young quarterbacks in the NFL. Justin Herbert came out of the gates strong, building an early 14-0 lead in the first half. The comeback that was expected from Patrick Mahomes, was delivered in the third quarter with consecutive passing scores to take a 17-14 lead. The fourth quarter of this game may have been the most exciting 15 minutes of football this season.

2021 Redraft: Chris’s Positional “My Guys”

As we approach the peak of draft season, I have been doing tons of mocks and best-ball leagues. These experiences have led me to know who my favorite players are this year, or “My Guys”. In this piece, I will share one guy from each position that I have been heavily targeting in these drafts.

Entertain Offers for Justin Herbert

Justin Herbert’s rookie season was a veritable perfect storm for the rookie QB. Everything fell into place, and it allowed him the opportunity to break the rookie passing touchdown record. Coming off the incredible season, Herbert currently has an average draft position (ADP) of 6.6 in Superflex dynasty leagues. Only four QBs are coming off the board before him. Even if you’re a Justin Herbert truther, I think now is the time to trade him, as his value could never be higher. Let’s explore what happened last year, and hypothesize how “Big Herbs” could be looking at a different situation moving forward.

2021 Projections: LA Chargers

In this series, I am diving into each NFL team and putting forth my predictions on what I think they will do in the 2021 season. I think having a set of reasonable or expected projections can help us during our drafts. They can help differentiate between closely ranked players, not only by comparing floor but also by comparing potential upside. I will be showing a set of realistic or expected projections and telling you if I think anyone is being under or overvalued in best ball/redraft drafts right now. These can also be used in a dynasty mindset, especially if you are a contending team. But, even if you are in a rebuild these projections could outline a young, cheap player who may get more work than a lot of people think. Let’s dig in.

DFF Draft Coverage: Tre’ McKitty to the Chargers

The former Florida State tight end found a home in Georgia after transferring this past season due to the turmoil that is the Florida State program right now. His knee injury in the pre-season limited his production this season to just six catches for 108 yards and a score. He was known for pass-catching in his high school days but has transitioned to being more dominant in the run blocking game. He still shows flashes of his catching ability by being able to take big hits and holding onto the ball. Look for him to be a target in the red zone due to his strong hands and large catch radius. He will be a boom or bust type fantasy player until he can solidify his role in the league.

DFF Draft Coverage: Josh Palmer to the Chargers

At his Tennessee Pro Day, Josh Palmer measured in at 6’1” and 210 lbs. Which equates to a BMI of 27.7. He ran a 4.51-second 40-yard dash, equating to a 101.52-Speed Score, and at 6’1” that is a 102.02-Height Adjusted Speed Score. Both scores place him in the 67th percentile or higher. He doesn’t show elite athleticism as he recorded a 34” vertical jump, 124” broad jump, and he ran the short shuttle in 4.25 seconds and the three-cone in 6.98 seconds.

2021 NFL Draft Preview: Team Needs Picks 11 – 15

This is the third article of the team needs series covering teams picking 11 through 15. Obviously, free-agency acquisitions will make a major difference as to who teams will draft. These predictions and needs will therefore change as we acquire more information. However, many are of the thinking that it’s better to supplement with free-agency and build through the draft. Teams want to get young assets and have them develop cohesion with the team. Therefore, the draft is often more predictive of a team’s long-term confidence in a player.
