Rapid Reaction: Baker Mayfield to the Panthers

For my money, I think both Mayfield and Darnold are better than people give them credit for. Mayfield is much better, though. He played under incredibly painful and difficult conditions for most of last year with a torn labrum in his left shoulder. People that say “but who cares, it wasn’t his throwing shoulder” are people you shouldn’t listen to. He also showed a lot of improvement the year prior, in my opinion, in a season that included three monsoon-type games. Look at his splits after the weather cleared. He has 92 TDs and 56 INTs in his career so far, compared to 54 and 52, respectively, for Darnold. I think he wins the job easily and I would approach drafts with that assumption.

When we loosely compare players, most people feel they have a good idea of what kind of production to expect. We may think “Christian McCaffrey could never be the player he once was, or that D.J. Moore is incapable of being a WR1.” But, these may just be false narratives. I make projections to ground myself and help to understand what is actually possible, probable, or realistic. IDP Wrap Up: Week 16

The Dallas Cowboys are the top DST in basic fantasy scoring coming into week 17. On Sunday, Big D put the hurt on Washington DC, blowing out the Football Team 56-14. The Cowboys defenders were an integral part of the domination, producing five sacks, two interceptions, a blocked punt, and two touchdowns in the game. Baker Mayfield Injury Update

On Wednesday, Baker Mayfield was ruled out of the Thursday Night Football game in which the Cleveland Browns defeated the Denver Broncos 17-14. Mayfield was ruled out after suffering his second dislocation of the season on his non-throwing left shoulder. However, it was what Mayfield said before the Thursday Night game that spoke to the seriousness of his injury.

Hello, fellow fantasy managers. I am Chris Miles, The Draft Director, and in this series of articles, I will be helping you determine what players value you should be taking advantage of each week in your redraft league. If someone’s value is too high I might tell you to sell or if I think their value will decrease soon he could also be a sell. I will give my reasoning for why each player falls in a certain category. I will attempt to have the format consistently be a buy and sell for each position but that may increase or decrease depending on the week. 

I do not want to put a QB or TE on my list just to fill the space if they do not truly deserve it. So, you can trust that all of the players I will talk about are relevant. In this series, I will be assuming full PPR 12 team leagues.
