We’re now through Week 12 in the NFL and things are still never as they seem. Tom Brady and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers were in a high-scoring affair against Jonathan Taylor and the Indianapolis Colts. Brady only threw one touchdown in a game where 69 total points were scored. With that being said, let’s see how my weekly DFS picks played out!
We’re now through Week 10 in the NFL. Things certainly haven’t gone as expected this year and this week is proof of that. The Patriots blew out the Browns, the Steelers tied the Lions, Washington topped the Buccaneers, and the Cardinals lost to the Panthers. If this keeps continuing, my pockets will be dry sooner than later! With that being said, let’s see how my weekly DFS picks played out!
One of my best SF teams is from a startup from last year where I waited on QB, a strategy I endorse. Now I have Josh Allen and Aaron Rodgers and am #1 in points scored through five weeks. This week I drafted an 18-man roster in a 14-team 0.5 PPR staff redraft league for @DFF_Fantasy. It is also TE Premium, where they get a full 1.0 PPR. There are 11 starting positions, QB/2RB/2WR/TE/3FLEX/K/DEFplus seven bench spots. There are also bonus points for converted first downs, both on receptions and in the running game.

Last week, the Indianapolis Colts decided to bring back wide receiver T.Y. Hilton on a one-year deal worth up to $10M. The 31-year-old veteran receiver is taking less money to stay in Indianapolis (Ravens offered a multi-year deal). As the start of NFL free agency inches closer, now is an excellent time to explore some landing spots that could boost Will Fuller’s outlook. The speedy wideout will be entering his sixth season and is coming off a year cut short due to a six-game PED suspension after Week 12. Fuller was on pace for a monster season, posting career-highs in receptions, yards, and TDs to the tune of 53/879/8 in 11 games played. He was the WR8 in PPR scoring during that stretch. The suspension came at a crucial time in the fantasy season as those who owned him had to find a way to replace that production heading into the fantasy playoffs.

Last year I looked into the Restricted Free Agent (RFA) market in search of sleepers we may be able to dig up. Unfortunately, it wasn’t that exciting. The likes of Kendrick Bourne, Isaiah McKenzie, David Moore, and others ended up resigning and had limited impact throughout the year. The best of that group last year was Keelan Cole who ended up with 55/642/5. We as dynasty owners are always trying to find value or that next guy that could take a leap. The free-agent class this season is much deeper and more exciting. However, for fantasy, we are always looking for that throw-in piece into a trade or a player forgotten as an afterthought. Carson Wentz’s career has been nothing short of a rollercoaster ride. Wentz was initially drafted by the Philadelphia Eagles with the second overall pick in the 2016 draft and caught fire almost instantly. The Titans are a run-first offense behind Derrick Henry. Henry somehow has 182 carries through eight games, averaging an insane 22.8 carries/game. Unfortunately, Henry has only caught 10 of 18 targets for 81 yards. Third-round pick Darrynton Evans has barely seen the field due to injuries; otherwise, he likely would’ve seen some work to spell Henry. As of now, Henry remains a workhorse RB1, although he’s not in the top echelon due to his lack of PPR upside.

Parris Campbell finished 2019 with 18 receptions for 127 yards and one TD after appearing in just seven games throughout an injury-plagued rookie season. Credit must be given to the young receiver for battling and playing through a hamstring injury, a sports hernia, and a broken hand, before ultimately falling on the IR with a broken foot. The transition from college to the pro game is widely regarded as a difficult conversion for wide receivers.

One of the best moves any dynasty GM can make is to capitalize on rough rookie campaigns. This belief is heightened when said campaigns are derailed by injury, as opposed to simply production. Enter one Parris Campbell. With a 97th-percentile Speed and Burst Score coupled with a 100th-percentile 40-yard-dash time, Mr. Campbell is simply a really fast young man. When the Indianapolis Colts drafted this Ohio State burner with the 59th overall selection, in the 2019 NFL draft, they did so with the intention that he would soon replace TY Hilton as the team’s WR1. In my mind, I’m not sure anything has changed on that front.
