Welcome in, everybody. The Dynasty startup season is now in full swing, and I wanted to look at some sleepers for the upcoming season. For one reason or another, the players we will look at today have fallen under the consensus radar. I will use our own DFF AccuRankings to highlight a few guys I believe will significantly outperform current rankings.
With the recent departure of DeAndre Hopkins, the Arizona Cardinals are looking toward a rebuild. What they do over the next 12 months will be pivotal for the team’s future in competing for the divisional crown in the NFC West and returning to the playoffs. With the 49ers and Seahawks set up very well for both the immediate and long-term future, it is imperative that the Cardinals get this transition correct. In this article, I assess this transition period’s impact on the viable fantasy options within the Cardinals’ offense.
Even the most talented of NFL players can see their fantasy production fall victim to horrid offenses. We’ve seen great football players like D.J. Moore, Jonathan Taylor, or the entire 2022 Broncos’ offense who enter year after year with loads of hype, but ultimately fail to meet our expectations in fantasy football due to the situation of their offense as a whole. Today, we’ll project which NFL offenses could spawn fantasy disappointment in 2023.
At this time of year, the NFL Fantasy Football space is dominated by Dynasty content. Everybody is talking about free agency, The Combine, and NFL Mock Drafts while Redraft season is a million miles away. Don’t get me wrong, I love rookie hype and lopsided trade offers as much as the next guy, but I also love to draft. And I assume you feel the same way; otherwise, you wouldn’t have clicked on this article. In my opinion, the best way to scratch that itch is with pre-draft Best Ball.

For the Cardinals I have their QB, Kyler Murray Projected to be an elite fantasy asset, as he normally is. 4,400 yards, 36 total TDs, and 500 rush yards set him up to drop 24.6 fantasy points per game and help dominate your opponents. I have Conner taking a large majority of the carries and earning 280 total touches. The backs behind him are not proven NFL players so I have them getting about 80 carries each which left a ton for Conner. Keaontay Ingram also is not much of a pass catcher so I could see Conner getting some decent work there but I would not be surprised if he lost some of this to Rondale Moore. Let’s not forget, that DeAndre Hopkins is suspended for six games by the NFL. So while his counting stats may look a little low, his PPG numbers are still at a low WR1 level. He could be a value in redraft leagues if he slips too far.
James Conner is coming off a highly productive season in Arizona last year. He ran for 752 yards and 18 touchdowns in 15 games, good for seventh overall in fantasy points per game. We should expect touchdown regression next season given the rate of over one TD per game last year. He turns 27 in May so the finer details of the contract will be interesting. Three years seems like a significant commitment but there will be contract outs given the contract is for $13.5 million guaranteed.

Meanwhile, we as dynasty managers need to be preparing as well. Who are we going to target in rookie drafts? Who are we going to go out and trade for? Who are we willing to give up in return? Will you go all in this season to bring home a championship? Or should you go young and prepare for the future? There’s so much to think about before September. The “offseason edition” of this series is an early look at whose stock is up and whose stock is down as we head into free agency and draft season. We will break down each NFL team one by one. Today is all about the Arizona Cardinals.
Unless we’re analyzing workhorse running backs or alpha wide receivers, a player’s usage can fluctuate from week to week. Some will shine and some will ruin your week. I am Chris Miles, The Draft Director, and in this series of articles, I will be helping you determine what players value you should be taking advantage of each week in your Redraft league. If someone’s value is too high I might tell you to sell or if I think their value will decrease soon he could also be a sell. I will give my reasoning for why each player falls in a certain category. I will attempt to have the format consistently be a buy and sell for each position but that may increase or decrease depending on the week.
This edition of Dynasty Sleeper of the Week features a player who many have quickly forgotten about and tossed aside in favor of another waiver addition, but could we all have jumped ship just a bit too soon?

What an absolutely crazy week of upsets! The presumed best quarterback on the slate couldn’t lead his team to even score a touchdown against the Jaguars. THE JAGUARS! I feel like we’re all in a dream and that this week is a lie! With that being said, let’s see how my weekly DFS picks played out!
Reports surfaced today that Cardinals running back Chase Edmonds suffered a high-ankle sprain in Week 9 against the 49ers, per Adam Schefter on Twitter. Edmonds is expected to miss multiple games. As we saw with Broncos’ wide receiver Jerry Jeudy earlier this season, these injuries can take over a month to heal and have lingering effects on a player’s performance upon return.
