The DFF Dynasty Start-Up Mock Draft: Part 4

As the dynasty league offseason is now in full swing, there are many upcoming NFL events to anticipate. Coming up on the calendar we have the likes of the NFL Scouting Combine, Free Agency, and the NFL Draft. In the fantasy football world, there is ample opportunity for value shifts for individual players and entire position groups. What better time to test the water than the end of February with a mock draft?

Week 12 Streamers

It’s playoff push season. The fantasy postseason is right around the corner, and we need to ensure we capitalize on every opportunity to succeed. You might have to lean on a streamer or two to do that. This week features some familiar names with enticing Week 12 matchups. Remember, we always provide the best players to stream at quarterback, tight end, and D/ST. Each streaming option will have ownership under 60%, according to ESPN. Below, you will find two streamers per position and a “deep stream” option (15% or lower). Let’s stream our way right into the fantasy playoffs!

2022 Projections: Buffalo Bills

First, I’ll just touch on my process. I start by looking at the team and individual player trends over the last two to three seasons. I get stats like target shares, rush attempt shares, yards per carry, yards per reception, completion percentage, touchdown shares, etc. As well as team-focused metrics like pass-to-rush play ratio (this is team pass attempts divided by team rush attempts), pass-to-rush touchdown ratio, and plays per game. I then use these past trends to predict what will be in store for 2022. Here are my projections for the Buffalo Bills’ fantasy-relevant players.

Art of Arbitrage: Part 2

Dynasty fantasy football has often been compared to the stock market. While there are some flaws in this analogy, many of the general principles are the same. We want to “buy low” and “sell high.” We want to diversify our portfolio across multiple leagues to mitigate risk. We want a healthy mixture of upside and safety in our investments. And, we want to look for arbitrage opportunities.

DFF Dynasty SF PPR Mock Draft Review: Positional Breakdown

For all but two teams, the NFL season is over. There are no more lineups to set or waiver claims to make, which can only mean one thing: the dynasty offseason is upon us. At this time of year, which is really like its own game within the game, mock drafts are incredibly valuable. They help us to understand how the public perception of players (say that five times fast) has shifted over the past several months. Even if you don’t plan on joining any new startups, a mock draft can help you to identify players–or even whole positions–that are over or undervalued by the community. Since I recently completed a startup mock draft with some of my friends here at DFF, I thought I would share some of my observations with you.

Fantasy Stock Up, Stock Down: Buffalo Bills

Welcome back to the “Fantasy Stock Up, Stock Down” series (offseason edition). Technically, it’s not the offseason quite yet for the NFL, but it is for us fantasy football fanatics. As a dynasty manager, you need to start preparing for the next fantasy season RIGHT NOW. A lot can change before next season, and we don’t know how final rosters will look come next September. The “offseason edition” of this series is an early look at whose stock is up and whose stock is down going into the offseason. We will break down each NFL team. Today is all about the Buffalo Bills.

Paul’s Picks: Week 11

I’d like to give a big shoutout to Matt (@PyschWardFF on Twitter) for taking over Paul’s Picks in Week 10. I hope you took his advice and started D’Ernest Johnson, Hunter Renfrow, Rashod Bateman, DeVonta Smith, and Tyler Conklin. He was also right about benching my beloved D.J. Moore, who struggled in the midst of Carolina’s QB transition. Matt is a Swiss army knife of content at DFF, so make sure you check out his other work on the site. Meanwhile, I’ll be bringing you names at every position that I believe will exceed expectations or fall flat in Week 11.

Redraft: Week 6 Buy/Sell

Hello, fellow fantasy managers. I am Chris Miles, The Draft Director, and in this series of articles, I will be helping you determine what players value you should be taking advantage of each week in your redraft league. If someone’s value is too high I might tell you to sell or if I think their value will decrease soon he could also be a sell. I will give my reasoning for why each player falls in a certain category. I will attempt to have the format consistently be a buy and sell for each position but that may increase or decrease depending on the week.

Six Redraft Shares to Watch After Week 5

Unless we’re analyzing workhorse running backs or alpha wide receivers, a player’s usage can fluctuate from week to week. Some will shine and some will ruin your week. Remember, targets and opportunities are earned. In this first quarter special article, I will provide season target shares, rushing attempt shares, and snap shares of SIX players (or group of players) to help you understand the value of each of them and decide whether to start ‘em, roster ‘em, or trade ‘em.

Paul’s Picks – Week 5

In terms of percentage, Week 4 was the worst week for “Paul’s Picks” so far this season. However, I will revel in my Jalen Hurts, DeVonta Smith, Dawson Knox, Kirk Cousins, Damien Harris, Brandin Cooks, and Rondale Moore takes for just a moment… Okay, that’s enough–we’re on to Week 5. As always, I’ll be bringing you names at every position that I believe will exceed expectations or fall flat.

Let’s get into the picks.

Week 5 Streamers

What a start to the 2021 fantasy season. We’ve seen some great streaming options work out rather well (Sam Darnold), and we’ve witnessed others struggle to post solid point totals (Austin Hooper). Last week, most of the streaming options hit, and the “deep stream” option for Dalton Schultz paid off tremendously (17.8 PPR points). Take a look at this week’s top streaming options for Week 5 below. Throughout this series, we will provide the best weekly options to stream at quarterback, tight end, and D/ST. Keep in mind, each streaming option will be below 50% owned, according to ESPN leagues.

Paul’s Picks – Week 4

I whiffed on A.J. Brown and Rondale Moore in Week 3, but Clyde Edwards-Helaire and Saquon Barkley were big hits. And if you benched Damien Harris, Devin Singletary, Laviska Shenault, Corey Davis, or Robert Tonyan, your team was probably better for it. But now we’re on to Week 3. As always, I’ll be bringing you names at every position that I believe will exceed expectations or fall flat.

Week 4 Streamers

Week 3 is over, and it’s time to focus on your Week 4 matchups. Although it has been a crazy first three weeks of the fantasy season, there’s still plenty of time to improve your rosters. Even if your team is loaded, it’s always good to analyze your streaming options each week. Throughout this series, we will provide the best weekly options to stream at quarterback, tight end, and D/ST. Keep in mind, each streaming option will be below 50% owned, according to ESPN.

DFF Redraft League: Drafting From The Thirteen Spot

Two weekends ago the #DFFArmy organized its annual staff redraft league composed solely of DFF writers/editors as owners. Upgrading from 12 to 14 owners this season, your author willingly joined in the fun. The settings of the league are pretty conventional: a 0.5 PPR league with a starting lineup of 1 QB, 2 RBs, 2 WRs, 1 TE, 3 W/R/T, 1 K, and 1 DEF. Passing TDs are worth six points while rushing and receiving first downs are worth 0.5 points. There is also a 0.1 point per carry bonus and a 0.5 TE reception bonus.

The 2021 Definitive DFF BestBall League Guide

As with any league, the context is everything. Your author shares this brief disclaimer as both a reminder for your own best interest as an owner and as a primer to start this article. There are many important questions you need to know the answer to in order to correctly utilize actionable advice. Is the league redraft or dynasty? Are there 10 owners, 12 owners, 14 owners, 16 owners, or is it a multi-copy league? How many roster spots are there? Is it SuperFlex or TE premium or tiered PPR? Is it an IDP league? How many starters are in the lineup? Is the draft third-round reversal? Do you have taxi squads? Each of these questions plays a vital role in analysis within the realm of fantasy football. Before you boldly and blindly follow advice from a website or analyst, make certain you know the context with which the advice is shared.
