Redraft: Week 4 Buy/Sell

Hello, fellow fantasy managers. I am Chris Miles, The Draft Director, and in this series of articles, I will be helping you determine what players value you should be taking advantage of each week in your redraft league. If someone’s value is too high I might tell you to sell or if I think their value will decrease soon he could also be a sell. I will give my reasoning for why each player falls in a certain category. I will attempt to have the format consistently be a buy and sell for each position but that may increase or decrease depending on the week.

I do not want to put a QB or TE on my list just to fill the space if they do not truly deserve it. So, you can trust that all of the players I will talk about are relevant. In this series, I will be assuming full PPR 12 team leagues. The number of flex starters will not affect this information very much but if you have a super deep league you can always hit me up on Twitter for those deeper guys. And with that said let us dive right into the Week 4 Buys and Sells

Quarterbacks

Buy – Justin Fields, QB Chicago Bears

Justin Fields did not have a great fantasy day on Sunday. But it was only his first NFL start and it came against a very good Browns defense, especially their line. He needs time to grow, but Nagy also needs time to learn how to use his new weapon properly. Fields only had three carries and that number needs to be much higher. The Browns’ defense was just suffocating the Bears’ line. Luckily, the Bears do not play the Browns every week so better performances are coming

Sell – Kirk Cousins, QB Minnesota Vikings

Kirk Cousins is throwing touchdowns at an unsustainable rate right now. This is lofting him into the bottom QB1 range and giving him solid fantasy performances. However, this touchdown rate cannot and will not last. I suggest finding the team struggling at QB, maybe the Ryan Tannehill owner, and offering them a trade for Cousins.

Running Backs

Buy – Elijah Mitchell, RB San Francisco 49ers

Elijah Mitchell did not play in Week 3 due to injury, so how could his stock be up? Well, Trey Sermon played in his place and it did not look good. He had 10 carries for 31 yards and one touchdown, with two catches for three yards. This uninspiring performance should lead the coaching staff to get Mitchell back up to his 18 carry average sooner than later. Mitchell is the lead back for the 49ers in my eyes and you should value him as such.

Sell – Kareem Hunt, RB Cleveland Browns

Kareem Hunt is currently the RB7 in fantasy and this is simply not going to continue. Nick Chubb will be around to take carries and touchdowns all year, which leads to Hunt being an inconsistent and troublesome fantasy asset. Sometimes he will have blow-up, 27 point games, like in Week 3. While sometimes he will have dud, 6.3 point games, like in Week 2. Use this blowup game to sell for a more stable asset.

Wide Receivers

Buy – Elijah Moore, WR New York Jets

Elijah Moore has had a rough start to the season, but so has the Jets’ offense as a whole. Zach Wilson has not looked like a proper number two overall pick. However, the Jets have faced three very good defenses to start the year. Next up, they face two beatable defenses in Tennessee and Atlanta. Moore has averaged a solid six targets per game so far and could see even more if the offense starts producing better. He could even be unowned and on your waiver wire in some leagues. Go grab him now before Wilson has better games against these bad defenses.

Sell – Mike Evans, WR Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Mike Evans had the ideal situation in Week 3, Antonio Brown was out and the Buccs were in a shootout. He still only saw an 18% target share and only scored 18.6 fantasy points. Antonio returns next week and the Buccs won’t be facing many teams that can put them in a shootout. Use this game to sell Mike Evans while you can.

Tight Ends

Buy – Dawson Knox, TE Buffalo Bills

The Buffalo passing attack seems like it is back in form after the destruction of the Football Team last week. One of the beneficiaries has been the tight end, Dawson Knox. He’s scored 8, 10, and 15 fantasy points to start the season and is available on most waivers. If you struck out on TE by waiting late and drafting the likes of Jonnu Smith, Adam Trautman, or Gerald Everett now is the time to correct your mistake and get Dawson Knox.

Sell – Mark Andrews, TE Baltimore Ravens

Mark Andrews finally had his first good game of the season. Sell as fast as you can. Hollywood was dropping passes and the Ravens were not running the ball well. Two things that will not happen most weeks. This led to Andrews seeing a hefty target share and a lot of receiving yards. However, Rashod Bateman is returning to practice this week, Hollywood will start using stickum and the Ravens will run the ball more. Each of these things individually would make me worry for Andrews. The fact that all three will happen within the next two weeks is terrifying.
