Fantasy Stock Up, Stock Down: NFC West

Welcome back to the “Fantasy Stock Up, Stock Down” series. The preseason is “technically” over with, but we are still in that in-between stage right before the regular season starts. There are still some key positional battles that are taking place, and injuries are affecting many players’ fantasy worth. Us dynasty managers must constantly research ways to bolster our rosters. In this continuation series, we will dive deep into one player whose dynasty stock is increasing and one player whose dynasty stock is decreasing from each team in every division. Today, we will break down the NFC West.

2022 DFF Draft Coverage: Jerrion Ealy

While Snoop Conner served as the Rebel’s short-yardage/goal-line rusher, Ealy was used as the “do it all” type of back. He posted consistent numbers, as he topped 700 yards rushing in all three seasons at Ole Miss. On top of scoring 20 rushing touchdowns during his three-year career, Ealy also hauled in four receiving touchdowns and two kick return scores. During his collegiate career, he also hauled in a combined 67 receptions for 545 yards, indicating that he can be a viable third-down option in the NFL.

Fantasy Stock Up, Stock Down: Kansas City Chiefs

Welcome back to the “Fantasy Stock Up, Stock Down” series (offseason edition). We are just a few months away from all of the offseason madness, as teams prepare for free agency and the NFL Draft. Meanwhile, we as dynasty managers need to be preparing as well. Who are we going to target in rookie drafts? Who are we going to go out and trade for? Who are we willing to give up in return? Will you go all in this season to bring home a championship? Or should you go young and prepare for the future? There’s so much to think about before September. The “offseason edition” of this series is an early look at whose stock is up and whose stock is down as we head into free agency and draft season. We will break down each NFL team one by one. Today is all about the Kansas City Chiefs.

Six Redraft Shares to Watch After Week 8

Unless we’re analyzing workhorse running backs or alpha wide receivers, a player’s usage can fluctuate from week to week. Some will shine and some will ruin your week. Remember, targets and opportunities are earned. In this series, I will provide weekly target shares, rushing attempt shares, and snap shares of SIX players (or group of players) to help you understand the value of each of them and decide whether to start ‘em, roster ‘em, or trade ‘em.

Paul’s Picks – Week 8

Week 7’s “starts” brought you the QB1, QB11, RB12, WR4, WR18, and TE3. I also helped you to avoid duds from Sam Darnold, Tyler Lockett, and Tyler Boyd. So, let’s focus on that rather than my advice to play Allen Robinson or bench Joe Burrow and D’Ernest Johnson… Anyway, with just two teams on bye this week, we have more fun players to choose from in Week 8. So, I’ve decided to add some “honorable mentions” to the mix this week. As always, I’ll be bringing you names at every position that I believe will exceed expectations or fall flat.Let’s get into the picks.

Paul’s Picks – Week 7

I’m not going to lie, the “starts” were brutal in Week 6. Taylor Heinicke, Chase Edmonds, Kenny Gainwell, Tee Higgins, and Michael Pittman failed to provide average performances, let alone exceed expectations. I refuse to take the L on Kadarius Toney, though, who had three receptions for 36 yards before being injured in the first

Dynasty Risers and Fallers Week 7

Clyde Edwards-Helaire Injury Update

Kansas City Chiefs running back Clyde “The Glyde onto the IR” Edwards-Helaire, was injured in the third quarter of the blowout loss to the Buffalo Bills last Sunday. First off, props to our Director of Operations @DynastyDiagnos1 for coming up with that wordplay. Second, the injury was better than initially expected. Instead of it being a dreaded complete tear of one of the knee ligaments, it is being labeled an MCL sprain. The typical recovery time of this depends on what grade of sprain it is, but thankfully the Chiefs are leading us to believe that it is just a Grade 1 MCL Sprain which has a recovery time of 1-to-3 weeks. With that news, he was placed on the IR for at least the next three weeks, which means he will miss games against Washington, the Titans, and the Giants at the very least.

Dynasty Sleeper of the Week: Derrick Gore

Dynasty sleepers generally become tougher to discover as the year progresses but with the battle of attrition that is the 2021 season, a few more candidates have presented themselves. This edition features a player who wasn’t even on a team’s active roster until three days ago. Derrick Gore (no relation to Frank Gore) was signed to the Kansas City Chiefs’ roster on Tuesday in the wake of the Clyde Edwards-Helaire injury. So, let’s explore his background to determine if he’s actually worth a roster spot or not.

Paul’s Picks: Week 6

Outside of Myles Gaskin, it was a good week for the “sit” column. Meanwhile, the “starts” at RB and TE panned out nicely but, unfortunately, Corey Davis, Laviska Shenault, and Jaylen Waddle didn’t live up to expectations. In Week 6, the Falcons, Saints, 49ers, and Jets are on a bye, so it will be even more important to locate those sneaky starts moving forward. As always, I’ll be bringing you names at every position that I believe will exceed expectations or fall flat. Let’s get into the picks.

The 2021 Definitive DFF BestBall League Guide

As with any league, the context is everything. Your author shares this brief disclaimer as both a reminder for your own best interest as an owner and as a primer to start this article. There are many important questions you need to know the answer to in order to correctly utilize actionable advice. Is the league redraft or dynasty? Are there 10 owners, 12 owners, 14 owners, 16 owners, or is it a multi-copy league? How many roster spots are there? Is it SuperFlex or TE premium or tiered PPR? Is it an IDP league? How many starters are in the lineup? Is the draft third-round reversal? Do you have taxi squads? Each of these questions plays a vital role in analysis within the realm of fantasy football. Before you boldly and blindly follow advice from a website or analyst, make certain you know the context with which the advice is shared.

Championship Week Risers and Fallers

In this weekly piece, I will bring you some risers and fallers from a dynasty lens. Whether it’s injuries, performance, or value, I want to discuss how players have moved around. Based on the week’s events, I’ll give some advice on how to act on the market’s movement, whether it’s buying, selling, or holding. Even in the playoffs, dynasty values still change weekly. I won’t limit myself to talking about any specific players or teams because I want to have the freedom to discuss whatever is most relevant. Of course, there are more risers and fallers than those I’m listing. With that said, let’s jump into the risers first, followed by the fallers.

Darrel Williams

Darrel Williams: 2020 Dynasty Profile

n Week 1, Darrel played 33% of the offensive snaps, compared to 67% for Edwards-Helaire. Most notably, Thompson didn’t play a single offensive snap, making it clear that Darrel is the direct backup to Edwards-Helaire. Unfortunately, Edwards-Helaire had 25 carries compared to only seven for Darrel, a larger split than most expected. I believed the Chiefs would ease Edwards-Helaire into the starter’s role at the beginning of the season, but they handed him a full workload from Day 1.

Welcome Back to Football

Welcome Back to Football

This will be a super free-form article, where I discuss how exciting it was finally to have football back on Thursday night. Even though the Chiefs-Texans matchup didn’t provide the most exciting football, it felt amazing to see a real-life game. With the COVID-19 pandemic hanging over our heads all summer, I wasn’t sure we’d get to this point. Getting through the first game gives me confidence that we will have a full season.

However, while the game had more emotional significance to me than fantasy significance, it still provided multiple important fantasy storylines that I want to discuss. The Chiefs and Texans have two of the NFL’s best quarterbacks in Patrick Mahomes and Deshaun Watson. The Chiefs’ offense, in particular, is likely the strongest in the league, containing numerous exciting fantasy options. With that all said, let’s focus on a few critical storylines from each team, starting with the Chiefs and followed by the Texans.

Sleeper Series: DeAndre Washington

After writing my redraft team breakdown series, I decided to start a new series as we approach the 2020 fantasy season. Every week, or probably more often than that, I’m going to bring you one fantasy sleeper representing a massive value in 2020 redraft leagues. All the links to previous articles are at the bottom of the article. In the first article, I detailed my methodology behind this series, so go back and read that piece if you haven’t yet! This time, we’re digging deep. DeAndre Washington is barely on most redraft owners’ draft boards, but I think he provides excellent handcuff value in 2020. Let’s jump into why I’d love to select Washington with one of my final picks in 2020 redraft leagues.
