Redraft SF/TE Prem Mock Draft: QB Strategy

Recently, the DFF team and I participated in a PPR, superflex, 1.5 PPR tight end premium redraft mock. Unlike our previous mock draft breakdowns, I’m not planning to go team-by-team and discuss how much I like each roster. However, I’ll reference my team, which I drafted from the 1.05 slot, as a basis for my general thoughts. The point of this exercise was to look at quarterback value and tight end value in this format and draw conclusions about strategy. In this first part, I’ll discuss how to handle the quarterback position in redraft superflex leagues, compared to both dynasty superflex and redraft 1QB formats.

Redraft Team Focus: Denver Broncos

n this article series, I’m analyzing every one of the 32 NFL teams and all of their redraft-relevant fantasy assets. It’s a long project, but I want to make sure that you, the reader, have something you can refer to for every team. For each article, I’ll split up the fantasy assets into three categories: high-end assets, usable contributors, and dart throws. Let’s jump into the Broncos.

Redraft Team Focus: Titans

Tannehill was a revelation in 2019. From the moment he took over in Week 7, he was a fantasy stud, averaging 22.5 fantasy points per game in his 10 starts. He was the QB3 during that period, finding success both through the air and on the ground. He completed 69.6% of his passes for 2,598 yards and 22 touchdowns while throwing only five interceptions.

The Curious Case of David Montgomery

David Montgomery was all the rage a year ago after being drafted by the Chicago Bears in the third round of the 2019 NFL Draft. Many believed that he would be the next all-around back that could take the Bears run game to the next level. Montgomery’s ADP in 2019 was the 23rd RB off the board and around 45.3 in fantasy drafts according to Fantasy Pros.

Early 2020 Rookie Redraft Primer Part 4

Part 1 of this article series focused on the incoming rookie quarterbacks. Then, part 2 and part 3 covered running backs and the top two wide receivers. In this fourth and final part, I will cover four more incoming rookie wide receivers. All of these players come with question marks, but I believe each of them at least has a shot to provide fantasy value in 2020.

2019 Redraft Strategy Review: Early vs Late QB

Of the three strategy debates, this is the one where I have by far the strongest opinion. Given that I wrote a weekly streamers article for DFF, it should come as no surprise that I am one of the biggest advocates for a late-round quarterback approach. As an important note, I will be completely excluding Andrew Luck from this study, as he retired before a majority of fantasy drafts. Therefore, the top five quarterbacks drafted were Patrick Mahomes, Deshaun Watson, Aaron Rodgers, Baker Mayfield, and Matt Ryan. Let’s look at these players in table form to illustrate how they performed in 2019.
