Dynasty Market Sweep: Post-Draft Rookie TE Market Report

Greg Dulcich surprisingly saw a minor but noticeable boost to his market value after the 2022 NFL Draft. Dulcich checks all the boxes of an NFL tight end but lacked primary production at UCLA to back up his stunning size and athleticism. Despite already having Albert Okweugbunam on the roster, the Broncos elected to select Dulcich in the middle of the third round.

2022 DFF Draft Coverage: Max Borghi

Indianapolis welcomes Borghi to a running back room that already includes Jonathan Taylor, Nyheim Hines, and Deon Jackson. Borghi should get a chance at competing for the RB3 spot with Jackson, but let’s be honest here, he won’t see the field much unless injuries to others give him an opportunity. He’s a strong runner, who could find himself with a short-yardage role, but Taylor is possibly the best back in the league at this point. He’s also a great pass-catcher out o the backfield, but even Hines may be one of the best at that feat as well. Don’t bother drafting Borghi in any league formats, but he’s worth a gamble on your taxi squad if you truly believe in him.

2022 DFF Draft Coverage: Jelani Woods

Woods came into college as a quarterback but quickly shifted to tight end early on at Oklahoma State. Although his production wasn’t anything to be amazed by, Woods was voted honorable mention all-conference, as he hauled in seven receptions for 120 yards and two touchdowns in six games played. He earned the same accolades in 2019 and 2020 as a tight end with little productions. After his Junior season, the big-bodied tight end transferred to Virginia for his senior season. That turned into a wise move, as he set career highs with 44 receptions for 598 yards in 11 games played. He earned first-team All-ACC honors and finished tied for ninth in the school’s history with eight touchdown receptions in a single season.

2022 DFF Draft Coverage: Alec Pierce

After serving as a special teams player during the 2018 season, Pierce was given an opportunity with the Bearcats on offense in 2019. He started 12 of the 13 games and led the team with 652 receiving yards. Pierce led Cincinnati with 18.5 yards per reception the next season but was limited to just six games with a shoulder injury. In his final season, he bounced back in a big way, as Pierce was named a first-team Academic All-American. In 14 games played, he hauled in 52 receptions for 884 yards and eight touchdowns.

Dynasty Market Sweep: Quarterback Carousel Part 2

Welcome to the Dynasty Market Sweep, a weekly recurring offseason article focusing on substantial value disparities in the dynasty market consensus. The very nature of the instantaneous fantasy news feed has made the dynasty market more reactionary and volatile than ever before. Once the proverbial petrol is poured and Twitter fingers snap to ignite, player values can burn to the ground overnight. Value changes of this nature cause a ripple effect across the market. For every step up the ladder, someone must move down and vice versa.

Rapid Reaction: Matt Ryan Traded to the Colts

The offseason quarterback carousel continues. Matt Ryan’s name has been synonymous with the Falcons franchise for over a decade. That time is no more. After 14 long-tenured years with the same team, Matty Ice is on the move. The Colts are acquiring the veteran services of the former NFL MVP for a third-round pick in the upcoming NFL Draft, per Ian Rapoport. Ryan becomes another name on the long list of quarterback changes occurring around the league. There are colossal fantasy implications for both parties involved. A transaction of this magnitude will have a lasting ripple effect throughout the 2022 season and beyond. Let’s dive in.

Fantasy Stock Up, Stock Down: Indianapolis Colts

Welcome back to the “Fantasy Stock Up, Stock Down” series (off-season edition). Free agency is looming, and rumors are spreading like wildfire. Meanwhile, we as Dynasty Managers need to be listening in and thinking about our off-season adjustments. Who are we going to target in Rookie Drafts? Who are we going to go out and trade for? Who are we willing to give up in return? Will you go all in this season to bring home a championship? Or should you go young and prepare for the future? There’s so much to think about before September. The “offseason edition” of this series is an early look at whose stock is up and whose stock is down as we head into free agency and draft season. We will break down each NFL team one by one. Today is all about the Indianapolis Colts.

IDP Wrap Up: Week 12

Rasul Douglas had another remarkable game at cornerback against Matthew Stafford and the Los Angeles Rams. In his effort, Douglas accrued six total tackles, defended four passes, and took an interception to the house in Lambeau Field on Sunday. Douglas is a great option in BestBall leagues and is in a prime position to contribute in the IDP playoffs.

IDP Wrap Up: Week 8

The Jaguars drafted Josh Allen seventh overall in the 2019 NFL draft. That pick is paying big dividends for Jacksonville this season. The edge rusher is producing top defensive end performances consistently, with Week 8 being no exception. Allen’s slash line included six total tackles, four TFLs, and two sacks against the Seahawks. IDP managers can continue to start Allen as an elite edge rusher in all formats.

Dynasty Sleeper of the Week: Kylen Granson

The waiver wire is growing thinner and thinner week by week so this edition of Dynasty Sleeper of the Week features a tight end who is likely rostered in most deep dynasty leagues.

While Kylen Granson may be rostered, many dynasty managers become impatient due to a lack of any kind of production which could cause them to prematurely part ways. Young tight ends can take years to break out so let’s dive in and see if I can convince you to stash him and throw away the key.

One Week Ahead: Part 7

Playing on just over 50% of the offensive snaps for the season, tight end Mo Alie-Cox may be a decent pick up in a position that is so hit or miss. Scoring touchdowns in back-to-back weeks, Alie-Cox is a big target who can pose as a real red-zone threat. This past week, Alie-Cox played fewer snaps and ran fewer routes than fellow tight end Jack Doyle. However, he drew more targets and produced better fantasy numbers than him. Alie-Cox he yet to log more than three catches in a game and has recorded over 30 yards in just two contests. Most likely, he will be a touchdown-dependent player.

Clyde Edwards-Helaire Injury Update

Kansas City Chiefs running back Clyde “The Glyde onto the IR” Edwards-Helaire, was injured in the third quarter of the blowout loss to the Buffalo Bills last Sunday. First off, props to our Director of Operations @DynastyDiagnos1 for coming up with that wordplay. Second, the injury was better than initially expected. Instead of it being a dreaded complete tear of one of the knee ligaments, it is being labeled an MCL sprain. The typical recovery time of this depends on what grade of sprain it is, but thankfully the Chiefs are leading us to believe that it is just a Grade 1 MCL Sprain which has a recovery time of 1-to-3 weeks. With that news, he was placed on the IR for at least the next three weeks, which means he will miss games against Washington, the Titans, and the Giants at the very least.
