DFF Film Review Series: Drake London

Drake London is the USC Trojans standout wide receiver and one of the top prospects in the 2022 class. He accumulated over 2,100 receiving yards on 160 career receptions at Arkansas and finished his final year with 88 receptions for 1,084 yards and 7 touchdowns in just eight games as a Junior during the 2021 season.

Dynasty Market Sweep: Coaching Changes

Welcome to the Dynasty Market Sweep, a weekly recurring offseason article focusing on substantial value disparities in the dynasty market consensus. The very nature of the instantaneous fantasy news feed has made the dynasty market more reactionary and volatile than ever before. Once the proverbial petrol is poured and Twitter fingers snap to ignite, player values can burn to the ground overnight.

Dumpster Diving: Lynn Bowden

“Dumpster Diving” is a new series at Dynasty Football Factory that will help you find late-round hidden gems. These players are far from perfect but they are “free” and who doesn’t love free stuff? If something breaks right these players can have a measurable impact on your team(s) and you’ll be the GM with them stashed on your bench. If not, you cut bait and move on. You want assets on your team that will appreciate in value and that is the goal with this series.  All of these players will be rostered in less than 50% of Sleeper leagues.

Dynasty Superflex Startup Mock: Drafting From The 1.03

I recently had the pleasure of joining Paul Patterson (@fantasyfreezer) in a dynasty startup mock draft in preparation for new leagues this offseason. The draft order was appointed by each user rather than randomized. Usually, I prefer to draft in the 1.10-1.12 range and stack two top-tier dynasty assets on the short turn. Choosing to select from the 1.03, I deliberately put myself in a position of unfamiliarity to understand the draft board with a different view. Here’s what I found out.

The Future Landscape of the Fantasy Quarterback

When most of us first started playing fantasy football Peyton Manning and Tom Brady were the guys, and now it’s Patrick Mahomes and Josh Allen. Drew Brees and Philip Rivers were up-and-comers, and now it’s Joe Burrow and Justin Herbert. Michael Vick was redefining the game at QB and looked like a once-in-a-lifetime talent, and now Lamar Jackson and Kyler Murray are making similar highlights. The QBs have changed with the game, and a big arm with escapability outweighs the ability to be a pocket passer it seems. Youth floods the league, and every team is in search of the next best edge to win, starting with the QB position.

Fantasy Stock Up, Stock Down: Denver Broncos

Welcome back to the “Fantasy Stock Up, Stock Down” series (offseason edition). We are going to continue to evaluate teams’ players whose stock is up and whose stock is down before free agency and the draft start later in the offseason. A lot can change before next season, and there will be a ton of turnover before September comes around. As always, I want to reiterate that we will break down each NFL team throughout this series. We have broken down a few teams now at this point. Click on their links at the bottom of the page if you missed them. Today is all about the Denver Broncos.

Positioning Your Squad(s) for 2022 Dynasty Rookie Drafts

When you compare the top of this class to 2021 it clarifies the point further. Treylon Burks is a BMW 7 Series while Ja’Marr Chase is an Aston Martin One-77. Trey McBride is the Outback Special while Kyle Pitts is a dry-aged A5 Wagyu Ribeye. Breece Hall is a dart throw from six feet away while Najee Harris is a dart throw from three feet away. Trevor Lawrence, Trey Lance, and Justin Fields were each thought of as top dynasty quarterbacks (QBs) for the next decade. We aren’t sure if any of these QBs from 2022 will be starters after their rookie contracts play out. We also know 2023 has elite prospects in Bryce Young, Bijan Robinson, CJ Stroud, Jaxson Smith-Njigba, and Kayshon Boutte. I would take these four above any of the 2022 prospects.

Fantasy Stock Up, Stock Down: Buffalo Bills

Welcome back to the “Fantasy Stock Up, Stock Down” series (offseason edition). Technically, it’s not the offseason quite yet for the NFL, but it is for us fantasy football fanatics. As a dynasty manager, you need to start preparing for the next fantasy season RIGHT NOW. A lot can change before next season, and we don’t know how final rosters will look come next September. The “offseason edition” of this series is an early look at whose stock is up and whose stock is down going into the offseason. We will break down each NFL team. Today is all about the Buffalo Bills.

Rookie Prospecting Through Data: Jerome Ford

This series of articles will cover the process I use to prospect and filter through each year’s rookie class, with each piece outlining a new player. I like using data to initialize my prospect profiles because it’s easy to examine many players quickly. Another reason is that there are no biases, it is strictly transposing stats from SRCFB to my database. This lets me get a clear view of the player’s overall profile without being biased by any outside opinions or flashy highlights. Once I collect the group of players and their stats I put them into groupings and then ultimately rank them. The next player of this series is a guy that should be getting more recognition due to how his college team performed but is still being disrespected.

The Running Back Position and Its Evolution in Fantasy Football

This past year in fantasy showed us an ever-changing landscape at each position, and it will consistently change going forward. I have been trying to look back at the running back, which is becoming more apparent that teams not only need two backs but both can be utilized for fantasy success going forward. We have to adapt with the NFL to win FF Championships, and to build great Dynasty teams, changing viewpoints is a great start.

Yards Per Team Pass Attempt: Why Should We Care?

Making decisions in your dynasty rookie drafts can be incredibly tough. Especially when you are forced to choose between two players you like or even two players you don’t know much about. There are a few factors that can sometimes help break the tie and make this decision much easier. One of them is a player’s yards per team pass attempt (Y/TPA) from their best college season.

Gabriel Davis: Gas or Brakes?

If Gabriel Davis wasn’t on your radar before last weekend, he sure is now. After his explosive performance in the AFC Divisional Round loss to the Chiefs, a football game that some are calling the best ever played, there has been no shortage of speculation and debate about this soon-to-be third-year WR from the University of Central Florida. What do I think of Davis going forward?

DFF: Off-Season Strategy Vol. 1

Your dynasty league season just ended and now you are faced with the tough question, what do I do now? This article will detail the process I go through with each of my dynasty teams at the start of each off-season. This analysis helps me to more easily make moves that will benefit my plans for the future of my team. This process also helps prevent me from making moves that contradict the current goal of my team. That brings me to the first step, we need to determine the current goal of our team and where we see ourselves heading.
