Dynasty Wide Receivers to Trade for

With the recent spike in attention towards Wall Street and companies clinging to existence, I am going to give you three wideouts to trade for to save your dynasty roster from the same fate. Something to build on without giving up too much is always how I approach a rebuild, and WR is the perfect position to start at when analyzing your team. Wide receivers last a long time in a world where quarterbacks and running backs come and go frequently. In my very first dynasty league, I traded away Jarvis Landry. It doesn’t matter what I received in return because I can’t remember, and Jarvis is still producing and will continue to do so for years to come. Needless to say, I learned my lesson, and I am here to tell you about some guys to go get.

NFL Team Deep Dive: Jacksonville Jaguars

The Jaguars fired both HC Doug Marrone and GM Dave Caldwell. Caldwell was the first to be let go. Leading Jacksonville to a mediocre 39-87 record in eight seasons. The Jaguars lost 10 or more games in seven of those seasons. After a franchise-record 10th consecutive loss, team-owner Shad Khan decided to pull the plug on Caldwell. Trent Baalke took over as the interim GM and has a chance to take over as the official GM of the team.

Start/Sit Week 13

Each and every week, I’ll be covering a handful of players that I believe will either exceed expectations or let your team down in a major way. Here’s who you should be looking at for Week 13.

It feels wrong, but Mitchell Trubisky is a perfectly fine streamer this week. Trubisky put up solid numbers in the team’s loss to Green Bay, and he should be a solid QB2 against the Lions in Week 13. Detroit is allowing the 7th most fantasy points and passing yards per game.

Start/Sit Week 11

Each and every week, I’ll be covering a handful of players that I believe will either exceed expectations or let your team down in a major way. Here’s who you should be looking at for Week 11.

Jameis Winston is expected to start for the Saints while Drew Brees recovers from fractured ribs. Despite his propensity for interceptions, Winston has been an incredibly relevant fantasy option in recent years. He’s stepping into an ideal matchup against the Falcons, who have allowed 300 passing yards in eight of nine games this season. He’s at least a low-end QB1 this week.

Week 7 Buy/Sell

I should have trusted my gut. I needed to stream a tight end on Sunday and I had a sneaky good feeling about one of them. My starter, Tyler Higbee, was in danger of missing out on Monday Night Football due to injury. Anytime you have a starter with an injury designation playing on Monday, you know you need a backup plan. I checked every ranking I could, and they all told me that my best available options were Dalton Schultz and Darren Fells. I had a feeling about a different guy, but it’s tough to make that call when the best people in the industry have him ranked seven or eight spots below. I picked Darren Fells, who had scored in two straight games and saw seven targets last week.

The guy I had a gut feeling about? He went out and scored two touchdowns. Trust your gut, people. I could’ve had Harrison Bryant. If only I had a friend who writes this column with me and has been talking up Bryant since the draft. If only…

Start/Sit Week 4

Each and every week, I’ll be covering a handful of players that I believe will either exceed expectations or let your team down in a major way. Here’s who you should be looking at for Week 4. Minshew flopped against the Dolphins on Thursday Night Football, but I’m going back to the well in Week 4. He’s got a soft matchup against the Bengals, and the return of D.J. Chark should give the whole offense a boost.

Joe’s 2020 DFF Redraft Championship Draft

Recently, the DFF crew gathered for our annual redraft championship league. We took part in a 17-round PPR draft, with 1 QB, 2 RB, 3 WR, 2 Flex, 1 TE, 1 D/ST as starters, and a 7-player bench. A bunch of us hopped on Zoom because there’s nothing better than seeing the face of the person you just sniped a pick from. I drafted from the 10 spot and was faced with the brutal task of picking next to our lead Redraft Ranker, @DFF_Karp. Let’s take a look at how my team came out!

The Guide: A Round-by-Round Roadmap to Acing Your 2020 Fantasy Draft

I get the same email every year. It usually comes in the first couple of days in September. It’s from a friend who I used to work with. This person is extremely competitive; the kind of person who hates losing more than loves winning. The email is a call for help. My friend knows almost nothing about fantasy football, but wants to crush the people in the fantasy league she was invited to a few years back. I love writing the reply because it allows me to finalize my draft strategy after months of mock drafts and research. This year, I’m happy to make that strategy public. Here it is… the guide!

Redraft Values

Redraft Values: Part Two

In this second edition of “Redraft Values,” I’ll be taking a look at five more players that are poised to outperform their ADPs. In this article, I’m looking at Robert Woods. What does Robert Woods have to do to earn some respect? He finished as the WR11 in 2018 and the WR14 in 2019, receiving 130+ targets in both seasons. Then, this offseason, the Rams traded away Brandin Cooks, opening up even more target opportunities. We should be expecting more of the same from Woods in 2020, yet he’s frequently available at the end of the 4th round.  The most mind-boggling thing about Robert Woods’ ADP is actually his teammate Tyler Higbee’s ADP. Higbee is currently going as the TE8, in the eighth round, due to an incredible five-game stretch to end 2019 in which he put up four 100-yard performances. But did you know that during that same stretch, Robert Woods had a 16-game pace of 125 receptions and over 1,500 receiving yards?

Let’s Fix the Snake Draft: Third-Round Reversal

The Dynasty Football Factory gathered once more to partake in a 12-team redraft league mock draft! But this time, we shook things up. We went with tight end premium scoring, as well as 0.25 points per carry. The tight end premium doesn’t raise the value of all tight ends, but it does create an even larger gap between the top and the rest. The point per carry adds a little bit more value to your bell-cow running backs. The biggest change? Third-Round Reversal.

#TomBomb: Jacksonville Jaguars

#TomBomb: Jacksonville Jaguars

Well, here we go. Right out of the gate Old Tom is dropping a pretty controversial bomb, in many circles. All I’d like to say is, prepare yourself, my friends. Although there was a bit of a rough patch back in 2018, I’ve fully forgiven Lenny and I’m ready to look to the future. If there’s a more hated-on player than Fournette, Old Tom would sure like to meet him. I’m not talking about your under-appreciated or forgotten assets. I’m talking about straight dislike, which Fournette appears to be the recipient of regularly.

Redraft Mock Analysis

PPR Redraft Mock Analysis

I recently took part in a 1QB, PPR redraft mock with eleven other members of the DFF crew. I was very happy with the results, so I’d like to break down my team and my decision-making process throughout the draft. I entered the draft planning to select RBs in the first three rounds before addressing any other positions. This strategy, which I broke down in great detail here, is one I’ve been implementing whenever possible this offseason. I expected to target WR in the middle rounds while waiting to get my QB and TE late, which worked out perfectly.

DFF Army PPR Redraft Mock Draft Review

Every few weeks, the Dynasty Football Factory team gathers its sharpest minds to put together a no time limit mock draft. Throughout the year the type of mock changes quite a bit. At the beginning of the year, it’s a lot of dynasty startups and rookie drafts. Now that it’s summer, the focus switches to redraft.

Dynasty MVPs

2020 Dynasty MVPs

In 2019, Chris Godwin, Austin Ekeler, and Mark Andrews were dynasty MVPs. They gained extreme dynasty value and also produced as top options at their positions. I’m not necessarily saying that any or all of these players will make the jump. However, considering where each player’s value currently falls in dynasty leagues, they have the upside to demolish that value.

D.J. Chark: 2020 Dynasty Profile

When the Jacksonville Jaguars selected D.J. Chark in the 2nd round of the 2018 NFL Draft, they knew they were getting, if nothing else, a truly special athlete: an outside receiver standing 6’ 3” tall, with 4.3 speed and a 93rd percentile burst score. After Chark’s disappointing rookie season, in which he accumulated just 14 receptions in 11 games, many wrote him off as another combine warrior in the same vein as Breshad Perriman. In 2019 however, D.J. Chark broke out, turning 117 targets into over 1,000 receiving yards and 8 TDs and finishing as the WR17.

Redraft Team Focus: Jaguars

In this article series, I’m analyzing every one of the 32 NFL teams and all of their redraft-relevant fantasy assets. It’s a long project, but I want to make sure that you, the reader, have something you can refer to for every team. For each article, I’ll split up the fantasy assets into three categories: high-end assets, usable contributors, and dart throws. Unfortunately for fantasy owners, this is another one of those fantasy black holes. It’s time to look at the unfortunate situation that is the Jacksonville Jaguars.

2019 Fake Outs

In this piece, I’ll walk you through three “fake-outs.” These are players that broke out or had strong seasons in 2019 that I do not expect to maintain that level of performance going forward. Therefore, you could call each of these guys a dynasty “sell-high.”
