Start/Sit Week 3

Each and every week, I’ll be covering a handful of players that I believe will either exceed expectations or let your team down in a major way. Here’s who you should be looking at for Week 3. To start, I’ve determined that Gardner Minshew is good at football. He completed 95% of his passes in Week 1, and he’s thrown for 3 TDs in back-to-back games. Now he’s up against a Dolphins defense that just allowed Josh Allen to throw for over 400 yards and 4 TDs. Roll out Minshew as a QB1 this week.

Old Tom’s Dynasty Stash – Week 1

Stay ahead of the curve with Old Tom’s weekly dynasty stash… and potential redraft gems! After all your league mates cash in on their waiver claims, you can sneak in and pick up next week’s potential hot commodities. Is every one of these moves a dynasty steal? No. However, lest we never forget that Old Tom firmly believes great dynasties are built upon the shoulders of GM’s who never forget the importance of the now.  Good luck, friends!

The 2020 Exposure Report

When it comes to fantasy football, we fall in love every year. During our offseason research, sleepers and favorites emerge. There are guys every season that you just have to have. But how many of those guys actually end up on your team? As buzz grows around your favorite players, ADP becomes your enemy and can end up thwarting your plans. All of a sudden, the guy you were getting in the seventh round of mock drafts all offseason costs you a fourth. You’re not alone. Here is my 2020 exposure report. It contains guys who I have a lot invested in based on where I could get them and some dudes who I wish I could have drafted more often.

NFL Player Props – Week One

In this article, I look at three player props that I feel have a strong chance of paying out. This article will run the gamut and will include bets such as ‘passing yard totals’, ‘first player to score’, and even ‘total tackles’ for those who love defense. In addition, I will also make one “Longshot Pick of the Week”. This pick will always feature a more difficult bet that has a greater than 2:1 payout. The odds may be tougher, but if you’re into some fun player props take a peek!

The Guide: A Round-by-Round Roadmap to Acing Your 2020 Fantasy Draft

I get the same email every year. It usually comes in the first couple of days in September. It’s from a friend who I used to work with. This person is extremely competitive; the kind of person who hates losing more than loves winning. The email is a call for help. My friend knows almost nothing about fantasy football, but wants to crush the people in the fantasy league she was invited to a few years back. I love writing the reply because it allows me to finalize my draft strategy after months of mock drafts and research. This year, I’m happy to make that strategy public. Here it is… the guide!

Austin Hooper: 2020 Dynasty Profile

Austin Hooper: 2020 Dynasty Profile

Austin Hooper was drafted by the Atlanta Falcons in the third round of the 2016 NFL draft. Through his first four seasons in the NFL, Hooper has seen his targets, receptions, yards, and touchdowns all increased year over year. His most productive season was in 2019. Hauling in 75 catches, 787 yards, and six scores in only 13 games. This offensive output had Hooper finishing the season at TE6 in PPR formats.

Redraft Team Focus: Browns

I see Chubb as very similar to Derrick Henry. Chubb had 298 carries in 2018 compared to Henry’s 303, so they were close in carry count. The significant differences were that Chubb had 36 receptions while Henry had only 18, but Henry scored 18 total touchdowns to Chubb’s eight. I think the Browns’ offense will be better overall than the Titans’, so Chubb should improve his touchdown total in 2020. While I do expect Chubb to lose a lot of receiving production, I think he could have around 25 catches in 2019, which isn’t bad. Also, the Browns replaced horrific head coach Freddie Kitchens with Kevin Stefanski, who ran the Vikings’ run-heavy attack behind Dalvin Cook in 2019.

A Look Back: Tight End Avoids

To continue my “A Look Back” series, I wanted to go back even further than the 2019 regular season and reference some of my pre-draft content. In the summer of 2019, I did a two-part article, looking at tight end targets and avoids for 2019. I already looked at my suggested targets in part one, so now let’s look back at the three players I said to avoid drafting.

Gronk to the Bucs

Gronk is back! I feel like I needed to get that out of the way. If anybody doesn’t know, on April 21st, Gronkowski came out of retirement. Everything moved at a breakneck pace on that day. First, Ian Rapoport reported that Gronkowski wanted to unretire and join Tom Brady in Tampa Bay. A few hours later, the Buccaneers and Patriots agreed on a trade to send Gronkowski and a seventh-round pick for a fourth-round pick. Soon after that, Gronkowski officially passed a physical, which finalized the deal. Therefore, Gronkowski had gone from retired in the morning to officially part of the Buccaneers in just a few hours.

Free Agency Merry-Go-Round: Hooper Lands in Cleveland with a Thud

Unrestricted free-agent Austin Hooper signed a four-year, $42M contract to play for the Cleveland Browns last month. The deal makes him the second-highest-paid tight end in the NFL behind only Hunter Henry. He’ll join a team that finished 2019 at 6-10, results that prompted ownership to fire the GM and coaching staff. Hooper leaves a high-volume pass offense in Atlanta for one in Cleveland featuring a duo of strong running backs and a quarterback who’s still developing.

2019 Half Season All-Stars

This will be a two-part article that will cover players that had half a good season in 2019. In part one, I’ll talk about players who excelled in the first half of the season but not the second half. In part two, I’ll do the reverse. I’ll also avoid discussing players I touched on in my busts and values article, so these will be all new players for me. Let’s jump right in.
