Dynasty Analysis
KJ Hamler wasn’t very valuable in dynasty leagues, to begin with as the world was watching him, hopeful that he could maintain some consistency as a deep threat. However, we did not get to see any glance of that this early on in the year. Hamler is a hold for me. You won’t get any value in a trade right now, and it’s free to stick him on your IR until next year. My long-term projection of Hamler is poor, but deep threats have a tendency to stick around the league for a while and he has the talent, he just needs a better opportunity. He’ll be a player I hope to see on a new team over the next few years and hopefully, he will fully recover and get back on the field next year.
Welcome to the third weekly edition of “Raiding the IDP Waiver Wire” for 2021! For those returning for another installment of defensive player recommendations, your interest and support are appreciated! This weekly column will help you, the reader, plunder your league’s waiver wire for real value where it counts: in your line-ups. We’ll dig into the past week’s top performers among available options for repeatable production.
Another week of football, another week of craziness! When the top five scoring running backs consist of Najee Harris, Kareem Hunt, Peyton Barber, Alexander Mattison, and James Robinson, up you know it was a crazy week! With that being said, let’s see how my weekly DFS picks played out!
We are entering Week 3 of the NFL season, and so with two weeks of information, we are starting to see how the backfields of certain offenses are taking shape. This report looks at weighted opportunity (WOPP), as well as some other metrics to help you identify buys and sells for your running back room for Week 3 and beyond. I will revisit this article at several points of the season to help you get ready for a playoff push, and ultimately a run at the championship! What is WOPP? It is a metric that apportions value to a running back opportunity (either a carry or a target). Targets are worth approximately 2.74 times the value of a rush attempt in PPR scoring, and as such, they are more valuable.
What a week of football! It started hot with an offensive explosion between the Cardinals and Vikings highlighted by a breakout game for second-round rookie Rondale Moore. We also had a thrilling overtime game in which the Titans took down the Seahawks. Derek Carr kept rolling as he leads the NFL in passing yards, defeating the Steelers in Pittsburgh while they bracketed Waller all game. The week was capped off with a big upset by the Ravens on Sunday Night Football. Let’s take a deeper look into the details of these games, and what data points could be sticky and applied to Week 3.
Well, that was an unpredictable Week 2! We saw top fantasy assets completely bust and low-owned players perform at a high level. This is why you can never just assume results. A good way to prevent weekly ‘busts’ is to create multiple lineups and have exposure to a multitude of different players.
In this weekly article, we will take a look at a couple of IDP players available in many leagues that appear to show promise or have a foreseeable path to time on the field and production. The hope is that you can acquire these players for free or relatively close to free. It depends on the depth and settings of each individual league. Qualifying players are those available in at least two-thirds of full IDP leagues on MyFantasyLeague.com (MFL).
Whew. This past week was much better than the first. Most of my teams that started off with a loss got back to even and a number of solid teams moved to 2-0. Sadly there are more 0-2 teams in my portfolio than I would like. We know a lot more about the landscape out there today than we did two weeks ago, but we still need more time for the process of variance to give us a clearer picture. I have made some crucial start/sit mistakes but am hoping to get ahead of the curve this week and I hope you do, too.
Elijah Mitchell is RB1 in San Francisco if he’s healthy. Sermon didn’t enter the game until Mitchell left it with a shoulder injury, then he left with a concussion. The entire offense struggled against an Eagles’ defense that looks legitimate against the run once again, so the 17 carries with limited efficiency are still encouraging to see. Mitchell will be a must-start in all formats while healthy until Sermon does enough to take over, or Jeff Wilson comes back to take the starting role. Most coaches stick with the younger hot hands over veterans back from injury.
Wagner made 20 total tackles… TWENTY TACKLES, against Tennessee!! In addition to the massive tackle total, the 10-year veteran added a TFL and a sack to his slash line. Wagner has long been a top fantasy asset in IDP circles, and his performance so far in 2021 has not disappointed.
Hello, fellow fantasy managers. I am Chris Miles, The Draft Director, and in this series of articles, I will be helping you determine what players value you should be taking advantage of each week in your redraft league. If someone’s value is too high I might tell you to sell or if I think their value will decrease soon he could also be a sell. I will give my reasoning for why each player falls in a certain category. I will attempt to have the format consistently be a buy and sell for each position but that may increase or decrease depending on the week.
I do not want to put a QB or TE on my list just to fill the space if they do not truly deserve it. So, you can trust that all of the players I will talk about are relevant. In this series, I will be assuming full PPR 12 team leagues. The number of flex starters will not affect this information very much but if you have a super deep league you can always hit me up on Twitter for those deeper guys. And with that said let us dive right into the Week 3 Buys and Sells.
Does fourth on the depth chart at his position qualify for a sleeper? I sure hope so. A few readers may know Demetric Felton, but I doubt too many are familiar with this rookie 6th round pick out of UCLA. So let’s dive in!
This is the second installment of the weekly series, One Week Ahead. We will use our fantasy football crystal ball to look ahead to future weeks and try to predict players who will emerge with fantasy relevance. We will try to get a leg up on our opponents by picking up potential fantasy assets before they become a major waiver wire pick-up.
After a wild Week 2, it’s now time to focus on your third matchups of the season. Streaming options have been hard to predict thus far, but this is the week we will turn things around. Throughout this series, we will provide the best weekly options to stream at quarterback, tight end, and D/ST. Keep in mind, each streaming option will be below 50% owned, according to ESPN.
Week 2 is now behind us, which means it’s time to start grinding the waiver wire again. Any little advantage you can gain in fantasy football you take and winning the waiver wire is one of them. Last week we covered Elijah Mitchell, Kenneth Gainwell, and K.J. Osborn. This week I’ll highlight three more players you should be eyeing from highest priority to lowest.
Eighth-year breakout, anyone? Color me intrigued. At 30 years of age, Cordarrelle Patterson is not exactly your spring chicken in regards to NFL experience. A surprise first-round draft pick by the Minnesota Vikings in 2013, Patterson attained recognition for his physical frame and athletic scores at the NFL Combine. Those with short memories may forget that the former Tennessee product entered the league boasting a 4.42/40-yard dash. At a hulking 6’2” and 227 lbs., Patterson harnessed the prototypical build to garner hope of a professional breakout. That presumption never came to fruition.

Another week of football, another week of craziness! Teams like the Dolphins put up goose eggs, Saints downgraded from an efficient week one to a disappointing week two, and the Chargers and Cowboys games were less than extravagant. With that being said, let’s see how my weekly DFS picks played out!
Week two is just about over and I’ve got dynasty names that you should prioritize in your leagues if they’re available. Some of these names will be available depending on league size and are worth putting in a waiver claim on. I’ll be bringing you dynasty free agents each week so, without further ado, here are your week two priority waiver adds!
What a week of football! We had great primetime matchups starting with the Thursday kickoff game between the Buccaneers and the Cowboys that came down to the final drive. This competitiveness throughout the week was consistent and was capped off with a dramatic overtime finish between the Ravens and the Raiders on Monday Night Football. Let’s take a deeper look into the details of these games, and at what data points could be sticky and applied to week two.
What a crazy week one. We saw top fantasy assets completely bust and low-owned players perform at a high level. This is why you can never just assume results. A good way to prevent weekly ‘busts’ is to create multiple lineups and have exposure to a multitude of different players.
