Preseason Overreactions: Hall of Fame Game Edition

Thursday Night marked a noteworthy night on the calendar for NFL fans across the globeโ€”the first NFL preseason game. It was the first chance to throw in some DFS lineups, the first chance to lose money on the Jets (-1.5) when a missed pass interference call could have saved you (Iโ€™m still bitter), and for our purposes, the first chance to see some of these rookies in action. Every preseason we are so excited about anything new that it is easy to overreact. I can still remember last year with everyone concerned over Josh Jacobs playing so many snaps in the Hall of Fame game. Donโ€™t worry about it though, because we here at DFF are here to help you sort out what is an overreaction and what is the actual takeaway.ย

Fantasy Stock Up, Stock Down: Cleveland Browns

Welcome back to the โ€œFantasy Stock Up, Stock Downโ€ series (offseason edition). We still have the Super Bowl to look forward to this Sunday, but as a dynasty manager, you should be thinking about the next fantasy season right now. These are some of the questions we need to be thinking about. Who should we look to be trading for? Who should we be willing to give up? How can I improve my team before September? As always, I want to reiterate that we will break down each NFL team throughout this series. We have broken down a few teams now at this point. Click on their links at the bottom of the page if you missed them. Today is all about the Cleveland Browns.ย

Rookie Stock Report: Week 4

The Chuba Hubbard lottery ticket has finally hit, and itโ€™s time for non-CMC owners to cash in while they can. Yes, you need to cash in. Hubbard doesnโ€™t have great vision and doesnโ€™t have the offensive line to overcome that major flaw. Hubbard isnโ€™t anywhere near the talent of Christian McCaffrey and desperate owners competing would more than likely pay a second-round that could turn into an actual starter.

Redraft Waiver Wire Grind: Week 4

We’re officially going into Week 4 which means that the waiver wire is looking like the middle of the desert; just not much there. But that doesnโ€™t mean I stopped searching for the next productive piece you can find on the waiver wire. This week we will look at three running backs with a path to opportunity, which is all we want from our bench running backs.ย

DFF Senior Bowl Part 1: Big Game Performers

The Draft starts in Mobile, Alabama. Over the past two seasons, the player who has won Senior Bowl MVP honors was selected early in the first round of the NFL Draft. In 2019, that was Daniel Jones going sixth overall to become the New York Giants franchise quarterback. In 2020, Justin Herbert scorched the Senior Bowl, earning MVP honors and being selected sixth overall to the Los Angeles Chargers. Herbert went on to set rookie quarterback records and is one of the most valuable Superflex dynasty quarterbacks and players overall. Since 2014, there have been a number of players to play in the senior bowl and go on to become very good NFL players and correspondingly very valuable fantasy assets.
