Week 6 was another solid week across the board, but Week 7 waits for nobody! This has long been expected to be one of the toughest bye weeks of the season as so many premier players are out. To say nothing of injuries. I have had to really ball out to fill lineups and make sensible waiver claims.
The separation is becoming clearer between contenders, pretenders, and the teams in the middle that are on the verge of a playoff berth. And the walking dead teams. A reminder to FFPC dynasty owners that the magic number for Victory Points (VP) to make the playoffs is 29, according to my research.
RESULTS
FFPC Dynasty TeamsÂ

FFPC Redraft Tourneys:Â My one Main Event entry has had bad luck winning matchups but has been putting up consistent high points and sits within a few points of a playoff berth. So it is On The Verge for me. Of my 37 FBG redraft teams, I have 15 labeled as Contenders and 12 that are closer to Dead/Zombie status than they are to being a playoff team, but they are close enough in points scored that anything can still happen. I have an additional 10 teams that are straight dead.Â
WAIVERS WEEK 7
Here are a few players I am targeting this week:
QB: Tua Tagovailoa $, Kirk Cousins $, Matt Ryan
RB: D’Ernest Johnson $, Rashaad Penny $, Demetric Felton $, Devonta Freeman
WR: Anyone with a pulse that can be plugged in if necessary
TE: O.J. Howard $ – in TE premium I am running to get him right now
RECENT TRADES
Mine: One of my strongest SF dynasties is incredibly weak at TE. I was hoping Jonnu Smith might rise to become my TE1, but that hasn’t happened. I ended up moving Travis Etienne (RB – JAX) for Mike Gesicki (TE – MIA) and I couldn’t be happier about it. On a rebuilding SF team, I moved Elijah Mitchell (RB – SF) for the pair of Elijah Moore (WR – NYJ) and Damien Williams (RB – CHI).
Theirs: The best recent SF trade I saw was the package of Justin Fields (QB – CHI), Rondale Moore (WR – AZ), and a future third-round pick for the combo of Leonard Fournette (RB – TB), Mike Evans (WR – TB) and a future fourth-round pick. If I had the depth at RB and WR I would easily pay that for Fields. On the other hand, those Tampa skill players could help a team win now.
FF GAMESMANSHIP
There is an awful lot of chatter in dynasty fantasy football circles about tearing down your pretender teams. Now is the best time to try and sell win-now pieces to your league-mates for future capital or young assets with upside. Some teams don’t need to be torn down, though. Some teams are just snakebit and it can simply be chalked up as a lost season. I did a SF startup this year where I waited on QB, a strategy I endorse. I thought for sure I nailed the RB position by taking Christian McCaffrey (RB – CAR), Clyde Edwards-Helaire (RB – KC), and Etienne. I also lost DJ Chark (WR – JAX) to injury. However, I also hold Kyle Pitts (TE – ATL), D.K. Metcalf (WR – SEA), Chase Claypool (WR – PIT), and several other young players don’t need to be moved just because it is that time of year.Â
The moral of the story is don’t trade just for the sake of trading. Evaluate your teams honestly but you don’t actually have to blow them up, per se.Â
Never give up and let’s keep balling folks!
