Dynasty Sleeper of the Week: Cameron Batson

The fantasy playoffs are here, and dynasty owners are either getting ready for a championship run or still chugging away and grinding out some end of roster collateral for next season. This week I will be looking at another mini-sized wide receiver with exceptional measurables, Cameron Batson. This 5’8 175 lb. wide receiver is in his third year as a pro and showing glimpses of what we want from a big-play receiver. The Tennessee Titans seemed to be loaded with these types after you take away A.J. Brown and Corey Davis, but I am highest on Batson going forward as opposed to Kalif Raymond and Adam Humphries.

Thursday Night Storylines: Week 10

The Titans are a run-first offense behind Derrick Henry. Henry somehow has 182 carries through eight games, averaging an insane 22.8 carries/game. Unfortunately, Henry has only caught 10 of 18 targets for 81 yards. Third-round pick Darrynton Evans has barely seen the field due to injuries; otherwise, he likely would’ve seen some work to spell Henry. As of now, Henry remains a workhorse RB1, although he’s not in the top echelon due to his lack of PPR upside.

When it comes to fantasy football, we fall in love every year. During our offseason research, sleepers and favorites emerge. There are guys every season that you just have to have. But how many of those guys actually end up on your team? As buzz grows around your favorite players, ADP becomes your enemy and can end up thwarting your plans. Redraft TE Premium .25 PPC Third-Round Reversal Draft Review

Recently, the @DFF_Dynasty crew joined up for a redraft mock draft. The format was: start 1 QB, 2 RB, 2 WR, 1 TE, 3 Flex, 6 bench spots, and PPR scoring. We also added a few twists, with 1.5 PPR tight end premium scoring, 0.25 points per carry, and third-round reversal drafting. As usual, I didn’t come into the draft with a set strategy. I planned to take value at my picks, and I wanted to have an open mind. However, I knew that the TE premium scoring would vault tight ends up on my board and that 0.25 PPC is a massive boost to volume running backs. Therefore, I decided to focus on securing running back and tight end early, especially since we only required two WR starters in this league.

Everyone wants the hot new thing. As kids, we all wanted the brand new toy for Christmas and turned our noses up at the pairs of socks we sometimes got instead. Now that we are adults we want the cool new sports car instead of the pre-owned Honda. It’s the same in fantasy football. Everybody wants to be the guy who drafts the young running back who vaults himself into the first round next year. We all target those third-year wide receivers looking for that elusive breakout. But you know what? Those socks are a good present. They get the job done and you use them all the time. That pre-owned Honda is reliable and doesn’t cost an arm and a leg to maintain. You can find similar values every year in fantasy football. No one in your draft room will let out a sigh of relief when you take one of these guys, but they’ll get the job done for you. A.J. Brown: 2020 Dynasty Profile

Brown is currently being drafted at the 3.06 in dynasty startups, making him the WR14. An interesting check is to compare a player’s dynasty ADP versus their re-draft ADP which can sometimes indicate where dynasty players are overvaluing youth. In redraft leagues, Brown is 4.08 which is the WR17. This indicates that Brown is expected to have a strong 2020 season, paired with only being 23 years old makes him a top tier dynasty asset.
