Sports Illustrated reported that over 10 NFL Teams graded Desmond Ridder as a First-Round Talent. Should Ridder meet that expected capital, his dynasty value will skyrocket above 1.12. Landing Ridder anywhere in the second half of your rookie drafts is exceptional value. I would not be surprised to see Ridder valued higher than every quarterback from the 2022 class come this time next season.

The Dallas Cowboys are the top DST in basic fantasy scoring coming into week 17. On Sunday, Big D put the hurt on Washington DC, blowing out the Football Team 56-14. The Cowboys defenders were an integral part of the domination, producing five sacks, two interceptions, a blocked punt, and two touchdowns in the game. If you have not been watching the Lions’ defense this season, you’ve probably missed some very solid production out of fifth-year defender Charles Harris. The former Missouri star has amassed 58 total tackles, nine TFLs, and 7.5 sacks this season. Sunday, the 26-year-old dominated, producing 12 total tackles, three TFLs, and 1.5 sacks against Kyler Murray and the Cardinals offense. Harris is an excellent starting defensive end this season and likely beyond.

T.J. Watt is making a case for DPOY with his production on the field this season. The fifth-year pro out of Wisconsin had a massive day against the Raven, accounting for six total tackles, a TFL, a forced fumble, and 3.5 sacks of Lamar Jackson. Watt has now contributed 47 tackles, 16 TFLs and 16 sacks in his 10 games played this season. The former first-round pick is the top edge rusher in IDP fantasy football right now and will be for years to come.

Rasul Douglas had another remarkable game at cornerback against Matthew Stafford and the Los Angeles Rams. Chris Jones put on a show for the Chiefs faithful in Week 11. It seemed like the Mississippi State alum was a man possessed on Sunday. In his matchup with Dallas, Jones wrangled five total tackles, two tackles for loss, forced a fumble, recovered a fumble, defended a pass, and recorded 3.5 sacks. As a 27-year-old starting defensive lineman, Jones can be relied on to be a starting DL in all IDP formats.

Micah Parsons has emerged as an absolute game-changer in his rookie crusade for Dallas this year. This weekend, the first-round pick did everything he could to help his team against the Broncos. In the loss, Parson had a line of 10 total tackles, three TFLs, and 2.5 sacks from his off-ball linebacker spot. If you used your high-end draft capital on Parsons this offseason, you are living the dream at this point in his young career.

The Jaguars drafted Josh Allen seventh overall in the 2019 NFL draft. That pick is paying big dividends for Jacksonville this season. The edge rusher is producing top defensive end performances consistently, with Week 8 being no exception. Allen’s slash line included six total tackles, four TFLs, and two sacks against the Seahawks. IDP managers can continue to start Allen as an elite edge rusher in all formats.

The Buffalo Bills pitched a shutout playing against a depleted Houston offense Sunday in New York. Week 5 will be a lot tougher, as the team has to square off against the Patrick Mahomes-led Chiefs, but this week the Buffalo defenders dominated. In the effort, the team defense created three sacks, a fumble recovery, and four interceptions to secure the win. IDP players of note for the Bills include Tremaine Edmunds, Cam Lewis, and Star Lotulelei.

The Cleveland Browns pass rush went nuclear on the Justin Fields and Matt Nagy-led Chicago Bears. In the 26-6 blowout, the pass rushers put up nine sacks! Chicago had no answers for the likes of Myles Garrett (see below) and Jadeveon Clowney. Coming up next, the Browns have the Vikings followed by the Chargers, two offenses that should hold their own a little better. That said, continue to start your Browns defensive studs.

The Arizona Cardinals played a terrific game in Tennessee on Sunday. The defensive unit held Derrick Henry in check and pestered Ryan Tannehill all day long. In total, defenders racked up six sacks, two fumble recoveries, and an interception against a strong offense on the road. 2020 IDP Wrap Up: Safeties

We learned that tackles are king at safety! The top five finishers in IDP scoring at safety all finished with more than 100 total tackles each through week 16. The top five stars of the safety position included Jordan Poyer, Budda Baker, Jessie Bates, Jeremy Chinn, and Adrian Phillips. Of those finishers, three are under the age of 26, and amazingly, Jeremy Chinn was able to crack the top five as a rookie. Chinn looks primed for another excellent year of production in 2021, so if you roster the Carolina safety, you are looking fine.
