The rest of this month, I will weed through what I feel matters to you, our reader, and what is just coach speak or media sensationalism.

2023 Rookie QB Analytics: Bryce Young

Rookie scouting season is approaching and what better way to prepare than to get a head start on your league mates and get to work before the NFL season ends? In this series, I will go through my process and scout each of the potential incoming rookie QBs for the 2023 class. My process is mainly through an analytical view. This means I am thinking about hit rates, range of outcomes, and probabilities. I favor these things over whether I think the player is talented because that is not only subjective but also difficult. This consistent, numbers-only process allows me to play the odds and hit more than I miss with these rookies. So follow along as I go through Alabama quarterback, Bryce Young.

DFF Draft Coverage: Kyle Trask to the Buccaneers

Kyle Trask took over as the starting quarterback for Florida as a sophomore when then Gators quarterback Felipe Franks went down to injury and never gave Franks a chance to get the job back. In his career, Trask completed 552 of 813 pass attempts, a 67.9% rate. He threw for 7,386 yards, 69 touchdowns, and just 15 interceptions which equates to a 168.5 passer rating. Trask leaves much to be desired as a rushing threat, he has a total of 54 rushing yards and four touchdowns on 132 attempts. He won’t be boosting his fantasy production with much work on the ground.

2021 Rookie QB Comparisons: Part 2

In this two-part article, we are going to do a deep dive into the top 2021 NFL Draft Class quarterbacks, and see who they compare to historically. We are going to build them out from the standpoint of their physical acumen, their athletic abilities, and then bring it full circle by looking into their play style. Combining these three components we will settle on a final comparison that I believe most accurately outlines each player’s potential range of outcomes in the NFL. Part two features Day 2 prospects. Kyle Trask Kyle Trask was the Florida Gators’ starting quarterback for the past two seasons. He exploded in his 2020 senior season, throwing for 4,283 yards and 43 TDs despite missing tight end Kyle Pitts in four of the 12 games. Physical: Trask measured in at 6’5.25” and 236 lbs. at his Florida Pro Day. Trask has prototypical quarterback size as made evident by the players who have very similar measurements. Ben Roethlisberger is the comparison that holds the most water among these names as Trask will likely play above his pro-day weight of 236 lbs. Athletic: Unlike Josh Allen, Carson Wentz, and Collin Kaepernick, Trask is no threat to take off and run. He ran a 5.1-second 40-yard dash at his Pro Day. Trask had an average of 0.4 yards per rush in his Florida career, though college rushing stats include sack yardage. He hit a jump of 33” in his vertical jump and 113” in the broad jump. He ran the 3-Cone drill in 7.06-seconds and the short shuttle in

Draft Stock Watch: Week 11

There were not many surprises in the Week 11 slate games this weekend, as the only ranked team to fall was #17 SMU in a close loss to Tulsa in which they led most of the game. Observing the shift in power among the BIG10 and SEC football conferences have proven interesting to watch this season. This past weekend, from an individual performance standpoint, there were a lot of future NFL stars to post strong stat lines, making this weeks’ featured risers a difficult decision. We will now detail some of this weekend’s performances that have prospects rising the ranks and/or tumbling down the proverbial NFL Draft hill.
