It’s been a wild few weeks since the FootballGuys Players Championship (FBG) playoffs started. I think there might be a couple of NFL players that haven’t either got COVID or been injured. They’re not on my squads, though. It has been something else trying to set a legal competitive lineup. This season is going to go down as a winning season for me overall, but largely a disappointment and I can’t wait for next season already.
The Dallas Cowboys are the top DST in basic fantasy scoring coming into week 17. On Sunday, Big D put the hurt on Washington DC, blowing out the Football Team 56-14. The Cowboys defenders were an integral part of the domination, producing five sacks, two interceptions, a blocked punt, and two touchdowns in the game. The Cowboys’ IDP studs of the game were Demarcus Lawrence and Trevon Diggs.

For all of the Trey Lance truthers out there, you are finally getting your Captain Raymond Holt of Brooklyn Nine-Nine fame, vindication moment with the news of Jimmy Garoppolo being sidelined with a UCL strain. Currently, team sources aren’t sure the extent of the injury but Dr. Nirav Pandya, MD, Director of Sports Medicine at UCSF is expecting it to be like that of the Drew Brees injury of 2019
If you have not been watching the Lions’ defense this season, you’ve probably missed some very solid production out of fifth-year defender Charles Harris. The former Missouri star has amassed 58 total tackles, nine TFLs, and 7.5 sacks this season. Sunday, the 26-year-old dominated, producing 12 total tackles, three TFLs, and 1.5 sacks against Kyler Murray and the Cardinals offense. Harris is an excellent starting defensive end this season and likely beyond.
With all of the postponed games, surprise flops, and COVID-related absences, Week 15 may have been the most chaotic week in the history of fantasy football. I mean, Duke Johnson was the RB1 for goodness’ sake. That being said, most of our picks performed as expected. In particular, Jalen Hurts came through with a strong performance that likely swayed many playoff matchups late on Tuesday evening. Week 15 has been the most chaotic week of the 2021 season. Arguably no fantasy playoff round has ever been more challenging than this. The waiver-wire moves that fantasy gamers are making this week are season-saving moves made at the eleventh hour in reaction to COVID-IR transactions and late-breaking inactives. This reality feels likely to spill over to Week 16 as well. This week’s waiver-wire offerings will be those players who appear likely to occupy near-full-time roles in their upcoming games.
With a limited amount of options on the main slate, choosing the right players was that much more important in Week 15. Tyler Huntley was forced to step back into the starting role with Lamar Jackson out again this week and boy did he show up. Huntley led all quarterbacks in scoring with 35.9 DK points. His number one weapon was Mark Andrews, who was a slate breaker with 38.6 DK points. With that being said, let’s see how my weekly DFS picks played out!

Aaron Donald was an animal again in week 14 against the Cardinals in Arizona. In the win, the Pitt alum notched five total tackles, a pass defended, three TFLs, and three sacks. At 30-years-old, Donald continues his reign as the most disruptive interior defender in the league.

DeAndre Hopkins, the perennial Top-5 finisher will finish outside of the Top-12 for the second time since leaving Houston. You can’t call his 14.72 PPR per game bad but It certainly falls short of the price tag many paid for him across every format. The dip in production has less to do with ability and more about usage and a few minor injuries. Moreover, the Cardinals have a receiving room filled with talent and haven’t needed to rely on him for most of the offensive production like the Texans had to. The explosive offense can spread around to several players on the ground or through the air and has capped Hokins’ volume and upside. He’s currently fourth in team target share.

If someone’s value is too high I might tell you to sell. If I think their value will decrease soon, he could also be a sell. I will give my reasoning for why each player falls in a certain category. Week 14 is now in the books and boy was it a good one. The Tampa Bay Bucs were able to hold off the Buffalo Bills in arguably the top game of the slate. Tom Brady is now a laughable 33-3 against the Bills as he continues his dominance at 44 years of age. Other notable wins consisted of the Browns over the Ravens, 49ers over Bengals, and the Cowboys over the Washington Football Team. With that being said, let’s see how my weekly DFS picks played out!
