DFF Rookie Round Table, Part 3: Tee Higgins

After recently releasing my rookie rankings, I wanted to open up the floor to constructive criticism.  I also wanted to see where I was not aligned with other DFF analysts. So, we conducted a round table discussion. This discussion is now a 10-part series of informal articles. In these articles, analysts debate why some of their favorite rookie(s) should be moved up. And in one case, moved down!

Aaron Parker: Dominant Small-School Wide Receiver Target

Aaron Parker checks a lot of boxes. First and foremost, Aaron has impressive age-adjusted college production. He broke out during his true freshman season at age 18 for the Rhody Rams. The Gwynn Park High School product was URI’s primary receiving option. He also had a 34.7% dominator rating (average market share of receiving yards and touchdowns) in his first season. Parker continued to produce at an elite level for Rhode Island. He earned over 35% of their receiving production in each of his final three seasons. He did so with his cousin and fellow NFL Combine invitee, Isaiah Coulter, playing opposite him as well. Parker leaves Rhode Island second all-time in team history with 3,460 career receiving yards and third all-time in touchdowns with 30.

Leap Year: Wide Receiver Edition

As we continue through this series, the next stop along the line is the wide receiver position. According to an article from NFL.com’s Michael Fabiano, only 18 wide receivers reached 200 PPR points last season. Also, mentioned in the same piece, there were only 13 total wide receivers who reached the 1,000-yard mark. The wide

Free Agency Impact: Oakland Raiders Add Doug Martin/Jordy Nelson

Doug Martin It’s a little early to really know what [profiler]Doug Martin[/profiler]’s impact will be on the Oakland Raiders. Miami Dolphins Free Agency: Landry Out, Wilson/Amendola In

When Ryan Tannehill returns in 2018, he will no longer have his #1 wide receiver to throw to. Third Year Wide Receivers: Part 1

In an earlier article, I examined the third-year wide receiver theory commonly held amongst fantasy football players and analysts. What I found, in short, was that the theory holds some water. The key is that every player breaks out in their third season. There were a number of repeating factors that aided in a player’s
