The Seahawks recently signed Josh Gordon to a 1-year, incentive-laden contract to return to the NFL. Gordon is awaiting reinstatement from the NFL due to substance-abuse violations, but I fully expect him to play in 2020. Even though Gordon hasn’t contributed significantly to fantasy football in many years, he was once a hot dynasty name. Therefore, he’ll generate buzz, and it’s crucial to discuss him after this signing.

The consensus used to be that it took wide receivers three years to breakout into fantasy relevance. But, the NFL is turning more pass-happy and players are being utilized in various ways. So, it isn’t out of the question that there are a few second-year breakouts that can boost production for your dynasty team. Similar to last year, if your teams had Courtland Sutton, D.J. Chark, or D.J. Moore on your roster before the start of the season, you more than likely felt comfortable with your team’s outlook. In this 3-part series of articles, I’ll look at six wide receivers that need to be considered.  If you didn’t draft some of these second-year wideouts, it’ll be almost impossible for you to acquire them going forward. It never ceases to amaze me that the majority of people will continue to buy “brand names” items, regardless of the price. This holds true in nearly all facets of society and even extends to fantasy football. Jamison Crowder is not a brand name item. Crowder played in all 16 games last season, starting 12. He led the Jets in targets (122), catches (78), receiving yards (833), and receiving touchdowns (6). Crowder was also quarterback Sam Darnold’s favorite receiver and served as his reliable safety net time and time again.

Tyler Lockett: 2020 Dynasty Profile

Tyler Lockett finally stepped into the number one wideout role for the Seattle Seahawks in 2019 and produced elite numbers when he was healthy. In 2019, Lockett played in over 90% of the offensive snaps in 8 of his first 9 games. After he was hospitalized during week 10 against the 49ers, he was only able to hit 90% of offensive snaps again one time the rest of the way. Prior to the injury, Lockett had amassed 767 yards and 6 scores through 9 weeks. In the 7 weeks after, and including the game he was injured in, he only gained 290 yards and 2 scores. In those first 9 weeks, Lockett was the third-best wide receiver in fantasy.

Tyler Lockett: Lockdown Value

I don’t know about you, but I’ve been doing plenty of drafting during this extended period of isolation and lockdown. What else am I supposed to do? One player who seems to be consistently undervalued be it either in a season-long best ball or dynasty start-up draft is Tyler Lockett. Lockett Up: The Time To Buy is Now

Let’s go back to 2015. A small, rookie wide receiver out of Kansas State, standing only 5’10”, 182 pounds, who was extremely fast (4.40 40), earned a spot in the Pro Bowl. He showed game-breaking ability as a receiver and returner, racking up over 1,000 total return yards and two touchdowns. He had 51 receptions for 664 yards, six touchdowns and finished as the WR44. The next two seasons he finished as the WR65 and WR57 respectively. In his fourth year, he would have one of the most efficient seasons of any receiver and finish as the WR16. If you haven’t figured it out by now, I am talking about the Seattle Seahawks wide receiver, Tyler Lockett.
