As we enter the fantasy playoffs, each start/sit decision becomes more crucial. In this article, I’ll be covering a handful of players that I believe will either exceed expectations or let your team down in a major way. Here’s who you should be looking at for Week 14.
Let’s look back even further to April of 2016, right before the NFL Draft. The Eagles here were able to pull off a trade with the Cleveland Browns to secure the second-overall pick and select the North Dakota State University quarterback Carson Wentz. The Eagles originally had the eighth-overall pick so they had to pull out the full bag of tricks to move up. They traded the eighth-overall pick, along with their third-rounder and fourth-rounder in 2016. On top of that, the Eagles traded their first- and second-round picks in 2017 to pull off the deal. So in totality, the Eagles have handed Carson Wentz the keys to the franchise, and to their credit, they were able to win Super Bowl LII against the New England Patriots.

Last week, I told you to start the wrong Saints’ QB. I won’t be making that mistake twice. In his first start, Taysom Hill proved he’s at least somewhat competent as a passer. He completed 18 of 23 passes for 233 yards, and at least 1 of those incompletions was a drop. With his high rushing floor, Hill should be startable in most matchups until Drew Brees returns.
What a fun story, I almost have to latch on! Following the injury to Drew Brees, Taysom Hill was named the starting quarterback for the Saints’ Week 11 game against the Falcons. Even before Hill was named the starting quarterback, he was garnering significant red zone looks. He is fourth on the team with 14 and has had six in the past two weeks. Now that he’s taking a majority of the snaps, it stands to reason that he’ll see even more action in the red zone. You’re getting plus money on this one too, making it an attractive player prop for this week.

In this weekly article, I’m going to look ahead to the following week. I’ll point out a few players below 40% owned on ESPN who have strong matchups next week that you can pick up ahead of time to beat the waiver run. I’ll also try and get ahead of breakouts that could happen in the current week, as predicting breakouts is the best way to save your FAAB budget. Since most of these additions will occur on the weekend, I’ll exclude any players from the Thursday night game, as you won’t be able to add them to your rosters. This season more than any other, it’s essential to remain active and stay ahead of your league mates.

This weekly article is focused on identifying players who are owned in less than 40% of redraft leagues. These players are going to help your team win this week and every week to come! We are looking for guys you should be able to plug into your starting lineup without hesitation. The Las Vegas Raiders are fifth in the league in rushing attempts and while Josh Jacobs has been productive, he can’t handle all the carries. Jacobs’ backup, Devontae Booker, has been incredibly successful over the last two weeks. He’s received at least eight carries and scored a touchdown in each of the last two games. He took 16 carries for 81 yards and scored two total touchdowns. I’m not sure Booker can keep this kind of production up but his offensive snap share has increased to over 20% for the first time this year over the last four games. He’s also a great insurance policy if Jacobs were to suffer an unfortunate injury.

Week 6 is in the books, and we are barrelling toward the midpoint of the NFL season. I am back to help you fill out the back end of your roster. Once again, this is not a waiver wire column, these are players that you could add now or wait and watch. My goal is to make you aware of some players off the beaten path. This week we are looking into the New Orleans Saints receiving corps with an electric player out of Assumption College, a 2019 All-Pro, and a Pro Bowler in Year 1. MVS’s ownership comes in just over 40% but we’ll include him anyway as he’s on just about all my redraft waiver wires. The Packers have been searching far and wide to assist Aaron Rodgers and Davante Adams but we’re never sure who it will be. MVS could finally be separating himself from the pack (no pun intended). He finished Week 1 with four receptions on six targets for 96 yards and a 45-yard touchdown. The Packer’s deep threat should be at the top of your waiver list if receivers are needed.
