2022 Draft Coverage: Tyrion Davis-Price

In his true freshman season, Tyrion Davis-Price contributed for the 2019 national champion Tigers, scoring six touchdowns on the ground on 64 carries for 295 yards in a reserve role. The former top-10 running back recruit led LSU with 446 rushing yards on 104 carries (8 for 47 receiving in nine games, four starts). TDP again led the Tigers with 1,003 yards and six scores rushing on 211 carries in 2021. He caught 10 passes for 64 yards as well over his 12 starts.

Overlooked and Underrated Rookie WRs

With most of the Pro Days behind us and the NFL Draft quickly approaching it seems to be a good time to reveal some rookie WRs that might be flying a bit under the radar at the moment. Should it be because of the hype surrounding WRs at the top of the board or their teammates, there are three WRs in this 2021 class that I believe are being truly slept on. According to my new model/data set, these WRs have a very high likelihood of fantasy football success. Pro Day Round-Up

Today is March 11, 2021, this is important because we are less than a week away from Free Agency. On March 17th we will likely find out where players such as JuJu Smith-Schuster, Kenny Golladay, Aaron Jones, Will Fuller, Curtis Samuel, Corey Davis, Todd Gurley, Marvin Jones Jr., Kenyan Drake, T.Y. Hilton, A.J. Green, and Hunter Henry will land. There are 43 days until the NFL Draft, and in most years we would have the NFL Combine to overreact to, however, as you know the NFL Combine was canceled due to the pandemic. Although we do not get to see all of the relevant players get their testing measurables in the same conditions, we still will get good data from the school’s Pro-Days.

Kayshon Boutte: 2021 Devy Profile

Kayshon Boutte is a 6’0” and 185 lbs. five-star wide receiver for the LSU Tigers. He was the WR2 and 24th overall prospect from the 2023 class. In his true freshman season, Boutte caught 45 passes for 735 yards and five TDs. Within the context of the LSU offense, he accounted for 23.5% of their receiving yardage and 20.8% of their receiving scoring. This equates to a 22.2% dominator rating and a 23% adjusted dominator rating. Boutte also averaged 1.75 yards per team pass attempt. While these figures do not surpass the 25% dominator rating threshold for a true breakout, within the context of the season one could argue that he did break out.

Navigating Your Rookie Draft: 2021 Wide Receivers

Wide receiver is the position in which analysts have the most different inputs for analyzing prospects. This is because it is by far the hardest position to analyze, whether that be grinding film or navigating through advanced metrics. This is because the college game for wide receivers is so drastically different than how the position is played in the NFL. Wide receivers have less room to operate, they are hit at the line of scrimmage, and they are playing against more skilled and more athletic defenders than they ever have. Devy Breakout Player of the Week

The college football regular season concluded this weekend, and we now head into conference championship week. As we await the bowl game invitations we can look back on a great season. The incredibly high number of opt-outs this year opened the door for many underclassmen to have opportunities at Power Five programs that they otherwise would not have. There are some storylines that transcend the sporting event; Michael Jordan hitting ‘the shot’, Mike Tyson biting off Evander Holyfield’s ear, and the base hit that rolled right through Bill Buckner’s legs. The game of the weekend will likely be remembered as the shoe toss, but I will remember it as the day that a young LSU wide receiver arrived.
