Free Agency Day 1: Dynasty Winners and Losers

James Conner is coming off a highly productive season in Arizona last year. He ran for 752 yards and 18 touchdowns in 15 games, good for seventh overall in fantasy points per game. We should expect touchdown regression next season given the rate of over one TD per game last year. He turns 27 in May so the finer details of the contract will be interesting.  Three years seems like a significant commitment but there will be contract outs given the contract is for $13.5 million guaranteed.

Fantasy Stock Up, Stock Down: Arizona Cardinals

Welcome back to the “Fantasy Stock Up, Stock Down” series (offseason edition). We are just a few months away from all of the offseason madness, as teams prepare for free agency and the NFL Draft. Meanwhile, we as dynasty managers need to be preparing as well. Who are we going to target in rookie drafts? Who are we going to go out and trade for? Who are we willing to give up in return? Will you go all in this season to bring home a championship? Or should you go young and prepare for the future? There’s so much to think about before September. The “offseason edition” of this series is an early look at whose stock is up and whose stock is down as we head into free agency and draft season. We will break down each NFL team one by one. Today is all about the Arizona Cardinals.

Paul’s Picks Week 16

With all of the postponed games, surprise flops, and COVID-related absences, Week 15 may have been the most chaotic week in the history of fantasy football. I mean, Duke Johnson was the RB1 for goodness’ sake. That being said, most of our picks performed as expected. In particular, Jalen Hurts came through with a strong performance that likely swayed many playoff matchups late on Tuesday evening. If you were able to come through with a win in Week 15, congratulations! Join me as I take a look at some names at every position that I believe will exceed expectations or let you down in the semi-finals.

DeAndre Hopkins Out for the Regular Season: Rapid Reaction

DeAndre Hopkins, the perennial Top-5 finisher will finish outside of the Top-12 for the second time since leaving Houston. You can’t call his 14.72 PPR per game bad but It certainly falls short of the price tag many paid for him across every format. The dip in production has less to do with ability and more about usage and a few minor injuries. Moreover, the Cardinals have a receiving room filled with talent and haven’t needed to rely on him for most of the offensive production like the Texans had to. The explosive offense can spread around to several players on the ground or through the air and has capped Hokins’ volume and upside. He’s currently fourth in team target share.

Psych’s Picks: Week 13

Greetings, #DFFArmy, and welcome. My name’s Matt Ward, or as many of you know me from social media, Psych Ward. I’ll be filling in for Paul in this week’s edition of “Psych’s Picks.” Every week, Paul lists his top starts and sits with the keys to success for each player. I want to add: I will personally be favouring and fading these players in my matchups.

Now, with the introduction formalities out of the way, let’s dive into the players I believe will make or break your fantasy lineups in Week 13.

Kyler Murray Injury: Rapid Reaction

Kyler has not produced the video-game level numbers that were projected of him this offseason. Dubbed a “Konami Code” quarterback, Kyler has not rushed for a touchdown since Week 3 against the Jaguars. He has just 147 rushing yards this season, averaging a paltry 18.3 rushing yards per game. Kyler’s once rock-solid rushing upside has crumbled and should continue to decline post-injury.

Zach Ertz to the Cardinals: Rapid Reaction

Many of us were expecting the Eagles to trade one of their tight ends, and many thought Ertz would be the one to go. Well, it finally happened and he landed in a very ideal spot. In this piece, I will talk about what the Cardinals’ offense has looked like so far through the season. Then I will highlight what to expect from Ertz and how he will affect the other Cardinals’ pieces. I will also discuss the Eagles and how they will differ from the loss of Ertz.

DFF Redraft League: Drafting from the Ten Spot

This past weekend, I had the pleasure of drafting against a number of my colleagues for our 14-team staff league, cleverly named the “DFF Redraft Championship.” The draft was a ton of fun, and I can already tell the competition is going to be stiff. For some additional context, our starting lineups consist of 1 QB, 2 RBs, 2 WRs, 1 TE, 3 W/R/T, 1 K, and 1 DEF. Passing TDs are worth 6 points, while rushing and receiving first downs are worth 0.5 points. There is also a 0.1 point per carry bonus and a 0.5 TE reception bonus.  In this article, I’ll be breaking down the thought process behind each of my picks.

DFF Draft Coverage: Rondale Moore to the Cardinals

Rondale Moore broke out as a true freshman in a huge way in 2018. He compiled an FBS-leading 114 receptions in 2018, exceeding 1200 yards and scoring 12 receiving TDs. He also added 21 carries for 213 rushing yards and two more rushing TDs. Moore even returned punts (12) and kicks (33). That season, he won the Paul Hornung Award as the nation’s most versatile college football player. He was a consensus first-team All-American as an all-purpose player, first-team all-conference pick, the Big Ten Wide Receiver of the Year, and its Freshman of the Year.

Fantasy Outlook: Cardinals Running Backs

Last week, the Arizona Cardinals signed James Conner to a one-year deal worth $1.75M fully guaranteed. After playing his first four seasons in the league with Pittsburgh, he will now join a backfield that includes: Chase Edmonds, Jonathan Ward, and Eno Benjamin. Below, I will be digging deeper into Conner’s and Edmonds’ fantasy outlooks for the 2021 season. I will also explain why the Cardinals should look into drafting a running back in this year’s draft.

Dominating Your Rookie Draft: 2021 Rookie Tiers

The Rookie 1.01 Draft pick always holds a premium in dynasty fantasy football. Rookie draft picks also vary in value based on the current time of the year that we are in. In the second part of this article, we are going to explore how to dominate the 2021 Rookie Drafts and revisit the value of how rookie pick values change at different parts of the season.

Is Jalen Reagor Good?

Hotly debated heading into rookie drafts last season and now again this season is the potential of Eagles wide receiver, Jalen Reagor. Is he good? Do you want him on your fantasy team? Are the Eagles bad at developing wide receiver talent? All of these are valid questions that we honestly don’t have a definite answer to. I’m going to try to provide those answers today.

Dynasty Risers and Fallers Week 15

Dynasty Risers and Fallers Week 15

In this weekly piece, I will bring you some risers and fallers from a dynasty lens. Whether it’s injuries, performance, or value, I want to discuss how players have moved around. Based on the week’s events, I’ll give some advice on how to act on the market’s movement, whether it’s buying, selling, or holding.

I won’t limit myself to talking about any specific players or teams because I want to have the freedom to discuss whatever is most relevant. Also, of course, there are more risers and fallers than those I’m listing. However, it’s impossible to cover every single one of them, as dynasty values change weekly for many players. With that said, let’s jump into the risers first, followed by the fallers.

Thursday Night Storylines: Week 11

Russell Wilson was on fire through the Seahawks’ first five games. He had thrown 19 touchdowns compared to three interceptions, and he was on pace for 4,800 passing yards. The Seahawks had also won all five of those contests, placing them as one of the league’s best teams. However, since the Seahawks’ Week 6 bye, Wilson hasn’t been the same player over the last four games. The Seahawks have lost three of those four games, and Wilson has suddenly become a turnover machine. He’s lost three fumbles and thrown seven interceptions, including three interceptions in his last game versus the Cardinals. I would love to see Wilson right the ship this week, but I might have to drop him slightly in my dynasty quarterback rankings if he doesn’t.

Start/Sit Week 7

Each and every week, I’ll be covering a handful of players that I believe will either exceed expectations or let your team down in a major way. Here’s who you should be looking at for Week 7. In terms of points per game, Justin Herbert is the QB8. Through four games, Herbert has 10 total TDs, and he’s averaging nearly 300 passing yards per game. You can trust the rookie against Jacksonville’s atrocious defense in Week 7.

Christian Kirk: 2020 Dynasty Profile

The Cardinals drafted Kirk with the 47th overall pick in the second round of the 2018 NFL Draft. At the time, they had almost no receivers outside of Larry Fitzgerald, so Kirk practically immediately stepped in as the WR2. Tight end Ricky Seals-Jones and running back David Johnson also contributed in the passing game, but the Josh Rosen-led offense struggled throughout 2018.
