The college football playoffs are right around the corner, so I thought it would be a good time to take a look back at the 2024 college football season to see who the biggest fallers were from a Devy perspective. If you play Devy, you know college player rankings can drastically change at the drop of a hat. Holding onto your priors when it comes to Devy prospects can be detrimental to your long-term success. In this article, I’ll be covering a handful of the biggest Devy fallers with a brief explanation for each. These names are in no particular order.
If you’d like a more in-depth look at the most up-to-date player values in the Devy space, be sure to check out our Devy rankings on the DFF website. DFF analysts @Evan_Kerr_ and @BWinkNFL give you over 150 Devy player ranks to sift through. With that out of the way, let’s jump right in!
Carson Beck (QB – UGA)
Beck was pretty much the consensus QB1 of the 2025 class entering this season. While he didn’t have much rushing upside, he seemed like a prospect with an extremely safe floor for Superflex formats. Beck racked up 12 interceptions this season, tied for fourth-most in the FBS. He showed us he clearly has some major flaws as a passer. I don’t believe he’s a first-round NFL talent at this point.
Ollie Gordon II (RB – OK ST)
Many considered the 2023 Doak Walker Award winner a Top 3 RB in this class before the season began. A wildly disappointing 2024 campaign has seen Gordon’s Devy stock plummet. He put on some weight over the offseason and appears to have lost some burst and lateral agility. Ollie did announce he is declaring for the 2025 NFL Draft, so he must have gotten some good news somewhere. Maybe he’ll sneak into Day 2.

Oscar Delp (TE – UGA)
Following the 2023 season, it appeared Oscar Delp was Georgia’s heir apparent, with Brock Bowers moving on to the NFL ranks. The Ben Yurosek transfer made for some murky waters, but I was still confident Delp would emerge as the top Dawg (pun intended). Turns out they both face-planted, and Lawson Luckie was the top TE producer. Delp’s NFL future does not look promising.
Kevin Concepcion (WR – NC ST)
The ACC Rookie of the Year and 2023 Freshman All-American had some high expectations heading into Year 2 but failed to build off his early success. KC saw a drop in targets, receptions, yards, and touchdowns this season. The biggest concern here was Concepcion’s gadget role as a freshman; most of his targets were manufactured. He has entered the transfer portal, so hopefully, a change of scenery will help get things back on track.
Jaydn Ott (RB – Cal)
I was never in on Jaydn Ott personally; his Devy stock always seemed to be propped up by his heavy workload. Still, some people considered Ott a potential Top 10 RB of the 2025 class, assuming he was able to build off his sophomore season. Well, a nagging ankle injury has resulted in some dismal numbers for Ott in Year 3, and he’s all but an afterthought for Dynasty purposes. It would take a miracle bounceback in 2025 for him to have a shot in the NFL.

Luke Lachey (TE – Iowa)
Lachey was supposed to have a breakout senior season and make a run at the Mackey Award, but that never materialized. Lachey has had injuries plague much of his college career, undergoing ankle surgery last year, followed by a quad injury this season. It’s tough to gauge whether Lachey still has some Dynasty value, but I’m firmly out.
Antwane Wells Jr. (WR – Ole Miss)
Antwane “Juice” Wells was coming off a foot injury that sidelined him for basically the entire 2023 season at South Carolina. He transferred to Ole Miss and was expected to challenge Tre Harris for that WR1 role. Instead, Wells was a major disappointment, finishing fourth on the team in receptions and yards. Even when Harris was out due to injury, Wells was not able to produce at a high level. Jordan Watkins actually emerged as the top receiver during that period.
