2021 Dynasty Profile: Tyler Kroft

I might have actually found a sleeper for you DFF Army! Tyler Kroft has bounced around the league in his six-year career, most recently with Buffalo, where he had very little opportunity and success. Not only was he in a less than ideal situation with the Bills, who haven’t typically featured a tight end in their offense, but he also missed a ton of time due to injuries over the last three years. He suffered a foot injury in both 2018 and 2019, then contracted COVID-19 in 2020 completely derailing his season. He finished the year with 12 receptions 119 yards and three touchdowns. Not all that bad for just 16 targets.

Soothsayers Roundtable: Quarterback Carousel

Beware of the Ides of March, the date March 15th was viewed by the Ancient Romans as a deadline for settling debts. The year was 44 BC and the Soothsayers informed the Dictator that their readings indicated death. A soothsayer is a minor priest also known as a haruspex, otherwise known for practicing animal sacrifice and reading the remnants of the body for signs from their deities. The practice of animal sacrifice is very similar to us fantasy players praying to the fantasy gods for a player they roster to get put back in for the goal line work as they fret a close competition. Back in Ancient Rome, the dictators and government generals would often consult with the Soothsayers regarding future war campaigns.

Rookie Quarterback Record Breakers

With the 2021 NFL Draft in the books and teams beginning their offseason mini camps, the NFL offseason is approaching a lull. We will overreact to one-on-one videos of a wide receiver breaking a defensive back’s ankles on a route when the receiver knows the play and the defensive back does not. Or it might be in the form of a running back making a decent-looking body catch against air. We may even see more statistics about Zach Wilson being 0-5 against teams with 10 or more wins in that respective season and posting just one passing touchdown in those five games.

DFF Draft Coverage: Zach Wilson to the Jets

Zach Wilson took over as the starting quarterback for BYU as a true freshman. Wilson accumulated 7,652 passing yards and 56 TDs versus only 15 INTs in his three-year collegiate career at BYU. He also proved to be a capable rusher with 642 career rushing yards and 15 TDs on the ground. Though he averaged only three yards per rush (including sacks).

Incoming Rookie Quarterbacks

With the recent draft trades, things are spicing up a month before the NFL draft is set to open and teams are doing their best to fill fans with hope for upcoming seasons. I’ll be analyzing the incoming rookie quarterbacks in this one because teams don’t trade up to take any other position than the face of the franchise. It will be more than likely a run of quarterbacks very early in this year’s draft, and for Superflex leagues, it’ll be hard to decide between more than a few of these players.

Navigating your Rookie Draft: 2021 Quarterbacks

There has been a meteoric rise in the number of dynasty leagues that are either starting up as Superflex leagues or transitioning to Superflex leagues, it is the way to go. Now there will always be a nostalgic place for one quarterback leagues for fantasy football players, but devaluing the most important position in football, arguably in all of sports does not hold much value anymore.

Draft Stock Watch: Week 14

Each week I will bring you the latest updates and NFL buzz surrounding college players that should prove to be integral to future fantasy success. I will utilize recent statistics, performance and film, and general “front office whispers” to compile the intel I share with you. My hope is to provide you with a leg up on your opponents. You will know which devy players to target in trades and/or in what range of draft picks (both NFL and fantasy drafts) you can expect these players to be selected. If you want to read last week’s article, click here.

Now that Week 14 of the college football season has come and gone, we have a lot to examine. We saw a few teams fall from the ranks of the undefeated, one of which (#21 Marshall) was shut out. The top four teams in the nation flexed their muscles again, winning in dominant fashion. A couple of Heisman hopefuls made convincing cases to stay in the rankings, as we saw one unexpectedly stumble. The emergency scheduling of the “Mormons vs. Mullets” matchup played out as the game of the season.
