2021 Rookie RB Comps

In this series, we are going to do a deep dive into the top 2021 NFL Draft Class running backs, and see who they compare to historically. We are going to build them out from the standpoint of their physical acumen, their athletic abilities, and then bring it full circle by looking into their college production. Combining these three components we will settle on a final comparison that I believe most accurately outlines each player’s potential range of outcomes in the NFL. In this article, we will make comparisons for the top five running back prospects in the draft.

Navigating Your Rookie Draft: Late Round Dart Throws

Over the past two years, players that have been drafted after the second round of the rookie draft picks have not had a high success rate. For this exercise, we are going to view success as defined as holding a current ADP in Superflex startup drafts inside the top 200. Within the top 200 feels like a solid spot for an arbitrary cut-off because that can include players who may not have had a successful fantasy finish, yet but they still hold value since their rookie draft took place.

The (R)evolution of the Rushing Quarterback on Late Round QB Strategy

A few weeks ago, I was scrolling the Twitter timeline and saw several tweets about the value of rushing quarterbacks, and how the “Late Round QB” (LRQB) strategy in fantasy football (popularised by JJ Zachariason) was on the wane. Seemingly, the consensus was that capturing the upside that rushing quarterbacks bring to your lineup, was worth the opportunity cost of selecting one in the early to middle rounds of your draft. As a fervent proponent of the LRQB theory, my immediate thought was to dismiss it, but my curiosity got the better of me – so I went to the data to see what I could find.

Constructing Dynasty League By-Laws: Part Two

The goal of this series is to take you along with me as I write and edit my own personal league’s by-laws. This exercise is a great way, as a commissioner, to evaluate your league and take strides to make it better!

DFF Factory Workers’ Dynasty League Rookie Draft

I wasn’t joking when I said I leaned heavily on rookie picks in the DFF Factory Workers’ Dynasty League. I also chose to lean heavily on wide receivers in the rookie draft as I mostly faded them in the start-up. My starting receivers are Allan Robinson, Brandin Cooks, and Marquise Brown. Not a sexy group by any means but Robinson is the real deal and I’ll stand by that. Cooks and Brown are boom/bust type players but Cooks is still just 26 years old in a really good situation as the lead wide receiver for Deshaun Watson in Houston.

Factory Workers’ Dynasty League Rookie Draft

Late Round 2 and it’s another easy decision for me. Bryan Edwards is my WR5 in this class, so I hit the draft button before I could even field offers. Like Reagor, Edwards checks all the boxes for me. On film, his catch radius and strength at 6’3 212 pounds are evident. He regularly wins in contested catch situations, making him “open” even when he isn’t truly open.
