Each year, Mobile Alabama hosts top prospects for the NFL Draft in the Senior Bowl. Scouts, coaches, and general managers descend upon Mobile in droves to start firming up their draft boards. Practices are often more of interest than the actual game, as you can see how that 5’8 160-pound wide receiver from San Jose State stacks up against the 6’0 210-pound corner from Georgia that runs a 4.3.
Earlier, I covered wide receivers and tight ends, which you can find here.
Here are a few names who stood out at the Senior Bowl week from the quarterbacks and running backs:
Jaxson Dart

Dart has been a recent riser as he attempts to challenge Cam Ward and Shedeur Sanders in the quarterback rankings for the 2025 NFL draft. He has been the clear QB3 most of the draft cycle but is getting closer to Sanders for the two spot.
Dart connected on a deep 39-yard pass to TCU’s Jack Bech. He also showed off his rushing upside with a rushing touchdown. Dart received PFF’s highest passing grade of the three top prospects. He also had the highest passer rating this past year. His average depth of target cleared Sanders and Ward by a full two yards.
Brashard Smith, RB, SMU
If you are looking for this year’s Tyrone Tracy, it might just be Brashard Smith.
Like Tracy, Smith converted from wide receiver to running back in his final college season. Smith is still learning the position, but he showcased excellent vision navigating through traffic at the Senior Bowl.

Running backs who are heavily involved in the receiving game are the key to sustained fantasy success. Smith had a 24.4% target per route run rate. This ranked second in the class to only the unanimous number one back in the class, Ashton Jeanty. His 22.6% missed tackles forced rate is a red flag. It portends that he may be a project-type pick for the NFL. However, his 87 grade for PFF rushing is solid. I would not expect him to have immediate success, and he may be a late-round pick, but he is worth being on your radar late in rookie drafts.
R.J. Harvey, RB Central Florida
R.J. Harvey is a “my guy”, so to be transparent, there may be a tinge of confirmation bias in this write-up. It is easy to forget that Central Florida is in the Big 12. To me, that makes Harvey’s production profile even more impressive, since these top-level defenses were keyed in on stopping him for their game plans every single week.

Harvey has one of the most impressive analytical profiles of any running back not named Ashton Jeanty.
