Paul’s Picks: DFS Week 14

Sticking with last week’s format, I’ll be focusing on my favorite games for the Week 14 main slate that I believe offer the best game environments and stacking opportunities. As you read, please note that the player names in bold are what I consider my “core” players or guys that I’m sliding into a large percentage of my lineups. Oh, and if you’re new to DFS, you should check out my DFS Tips and Tricks article here.

Chiefs @ Dolphins (50.5 O/U)

As usual, Patrick Mahomes ($8,900), Tyreek Hill ($9,000), and Travis Kelce ($8,200) are among the best plays on the slate. You really can’t go wrong with these three, but Kelce gives you the biggest advantage relative to his position. Despite his low price and projected ownership, I can’t advise playing Clyde Edwards-Helaire ($6,400) at this point. His target share has diminished significantly, and he’s splitting touches with Le’Veon Bell and Darrel Williams at this point.

If you decide to stack the Chiefs’ offense, you’ll want to run it back with at least one player on the Dolphins’ side. I prefer Myles Gaskin ($6,000), who touched the ball 23 times in his return to action last week. He’s also averaging 4 receptions per game this season, so he should be highly involved regardless of game script. Mike Gesicki ($5,700) is also in play if you choose not to play Kelce, or you can go with Devante Parker ($6,500).

Titans @ Jaguars (52.5 O/U)

Even after his disappointing Week 13, Derrick Henry ($9,600) is going to be one of the highest-owned players on the slate. Given his track record in December, his volume in the offense, and the projected game script, he looks like an excellent play. However, I also like Ryan Tannehill ($7,900) ‒ who threw 4 TD passes against the Jags in Week 2 ‒ as a leverage play in this spot. AJ Brown ($8,000) is still his best stacking option, but Corey Davis ($6,800) and Jonnu Smith ($5,400) are solidly in play.

Last week, DJ Chark ($5,900) racked up 128 air yards on 7 targets. Unfortunately, he finished the game with just 2 receptions for 41 yards, but I’m comfortable going right back to him this week. Mike Glennon is going deep at a ridiculous rate, and the Titans’ secondary just allowed Baker Mayfield to torch them for 334 yards and 4 TDs. If you want to stack this game, you can also take a shot on any of the other Jaguars’ receivers: Laviska Shenault ($5,400), Keelan Cole ($5,100), or Collin Johnson ($5,100). And don’t forget about James Robinson ($8,000). He’s the best player in this offense, and he’s been seeing CMC-level volume in recent weeks.

Vikings @ Buccaneers (52.5 O/U)

I like Tom Brady ($7,800) this week. You can easily stack him with Chris Godwin ($7,400) and Mike Evans ($7,300), or even Antonio Brown ($6,500), and run it back with either Justin Jefferson ($7,800) or Adam Thielen ($7,700). This matchup features struggling secondaries on both sides, so I’m expecting well over 600 combined passing yards in this one.

Dalvin Cook ($10,200) still has the highest upside of any player on the slate, but I prefer to fade him at his price in favor of the pass-catchers. Ronald Jones ($6,300), on the other hand, is cheap enough to warrant some consideration if you want to mini-stack him with a Vikings’ receiver.

Falcons @ Chargers (49 O/U)

This game lost some appeal when Julio Jones was ruled out, but there are still some great stacking options. I love Justin Herbert ($8,300) this week in a bounce-back spot. He obviously pairs well with Keenan Allen ($8,500), but I also want some exposure to Mike Williams ($6,100) ‒ who’s 12th in the league in air yards and 10th in deep targets ‒ and Hunter Henry ($5,600). With this soft matchup, even Jalen Guyton ($4,900) is a nice dart throw in larger fields. He led all Chargers’ WRs in snaps last week. If you don’t want to stack Justin Herbert, you can also get exposure to this game through Austin Ekeler ($7,500). He’s a massive factor in the receiving game, and he’ll have plenty of scoring opportunities if this game shoots out.

I can’t advise stacking Matt Ryan ($7,300) with Julio Jones out of the lineup. However, I love Calvin Ridley ($8,100) as a run back for Chargers’ stacks. If you need to save salary, Hayden Hurst ($5,500) and Russell Gage ($5,500) are viable, as well.

Packers @ Lions (55 O/U)

You’ll have to pay down at other positions to fit Aaron Rodgers ($9,100) and Davante Adams ($9,600) into your lineup, but it could be worth it. Adams has scored 11 TDs in his last seven games, and he’s regularly commanding a target share north of 35%. For double-stacks, throw in Allen Lazard ($5,800). You can run back your Packers’ stacks with D’Andre Swift ($6,900), who is expected to play for the first time since Week 10. The last time we saw Swift, he went for 159 yards and a TD on 21 touches.

Back in Week 2, Aaron Jones ($8,700) racked up over 200 yards and scored 3 TDs against these Lions. If you aren’t playing Rodgers, consider building a mini-stack into your lineup featuring Jones and a Lions’ pass-catcher. Marvin Jones ($6,200) and TJ Hockenson ($6,000) are the most obvious options, but Mohamed Sanu ($4,700) could be a sneaky play with Jones occupying shutdown corner Jaire Alexander.
