Today weโre going to be looking at the dynasty impact of the entire 1st round of the 2024 NFL Draft, offensive pick by pick. This is part two of a two-part article.
Chicago Bears – Rome Odunze
Odunze lands in Chicago to pair with new rookie QB Caleb Williams, and I couldnโt be more excited. I love the idea of a new rookie QB and WR coming in, learning, and growing together. The result can be a rapport that lasts a decade, and itโs even more special here, as both are top-tier first-round picks. Odunze will have target competition from D.J. Moore and Keenan Allen, but I donโt think the Bears use the 9th overall pick on him without him seeing a significant role in the offense.
Minnesota Vikings – J.J. McCarthy
Iโm not a big fan of McCarthy as an NFL-caliber QB based on what I saw from him at Michigan, but he just so happened to have fallen into the perfect situation. The Vikings have arguably the best wide receiver in the NFL in Justin Jefferson, paired with last year’s early-round selection Jordan Addison and star tight end T.J. Hockenson. If McCarthy is to have success at the next level, I think itโll be as a game manager, Alex Smith-type QB. He got drafted to the perfect system, and if Justin Jefferson can look elite with Josh Dobbs and Nick Mullens at the helm, imagine how heโll look with JJ McCarthy. Jefferson is good enough to make QBs, and I think McCarthy should have success in the NFL given his perfect landing spot.

Denver Broncos – Bo Nix
The Broncos best offensive weapons are Courtland Sutton and Greg Dulcich, but they also drafted Nixโs college WR1 to make him feel at home in Troy Franklin. The Broncos also have a coach in Sean Payton who specializes in developing QBs. I expect Nix and Franklin to carry over their college chemistry to the NFL.
Las Vegas Raiders – Brock Bowers
Brock Bowers is a transcendent talent who should be able to succeed in any situation. Heโll be the perfect safety valve for Gardner Minshew in Oakland and gives the Raiders another viable pass catcher alongside Davante Adams. Itโll be interesting to see what the Raiders do with last yearโs early TE selection Michael Mayer, but he definitely wonโt keep Bowers off the field. Bowers immediately becomes a top 3 dynasty TE; invest with confidence.
Jacksonville Jaguars – Brian Thomas Jr.
BTJ, as heโs known, falls to a good situation in Jacksonville. Heโs tied to QB Trevor Lawrence, who has struggled at times, but has all the talent in the world. BTJ fits the vacated role of Calvin Ridley in this offense, and he should have immediate success.
Kansas City Chiefs – Xavier Worthy
This is one of my favorite picks of the first round. At the NFL Combine, Worthy became the fastest player in NFL history. Since letting Tyreek Hill leave, KC has desperately needed a speedy deep threat for big-armed Patrick Mahomes. They found it in Worthy and expect him to excel in the role Tyreek Hill used to play.

San Francisco 49ers – Ricky Pearsall
Unless the rumblings of a Brandon Aiyuk or Deebo Samuel trade come to fruition, I canโt see Pearsall having an immediate impact with the 49ers. If either were to be traded, the door would be open for Pearsall to get targets, but if all three remain on the team, I canโt see Pearsall getting enough volume.
Carolina Panthers – Xavier Legette
The Panthers attempt to surround their sophomore QB Bryce Young with another weapon in Xavier Legette, to pair with offseason acquisition WR Diontae Johnson. Legette is a big-bodied, contested catch master with blazing speed for his size. Legette will see the field right away for the Panthers, and I look for him to establish an immediate connection with Bryce Young.
